10/10 for the hotel for cleanliness, food, pleasant and helpful staff and for things for kids to do.
The only drawn back was Punta Prima itself, not a lot to do within the resort only one street to walk up which only contains a handful of restaurants and supermarkets/gift shops, once you have walked up this street once you have seen it, and there's not a lot else to see. The beach is very clean and very handy for the hotel and has a few lovely spots. Day trips to other places on the island are recommended.
Would highly recommend Menorca for people who like a relaxing holiday as a couple or as a couple with kids as there is lots for them to do.

When we arrived at the Xaloc Player we had to wait over 2 hours for a room so we had to get changed in the hotel toilet. They have a policy of not vacating the rooms till after 12am. So when we arrived we had no idea this was the case.
Anyway once we was located a Room I decided I should go and find a cash point machine as like many holiday makers I take my cards on holiday and withdrawn cash as and when needed. I was informed by the receptionist that there was NO CASH Point’s in Punta Prima... So I had to get a bus in MAHON was is 15-20 journey each way. So as you can imagine after the delay in the room I had to make a 30 min + bus journey.
After the initial stress, we had a very relaxing holiday. The food is served as a buffet style, was good and varied, with the staff on hand to serve you drinks. We was on Half Board basis and I couldn’t quite work out how your drinks where free with Breakfast but when it came to dinner you had to pay?? So I wasn’t quite sure how and why that was!!
All the staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The pool was nice our son loved the little heated kiddie’s pool, he played for hours in there with his bucket and cars!!
Our room was quite large but we wasn't put in the best of places our balcony overlooked an outside car park and was on top of the kitchen's and next to a busy street, which meant our room was really hot and stuffy nearly all the time. And the traffic noise kept our son awake most of the night. I would recommend that you hire a Fan as the first night without a Fan was the worst night sleep we all have ever had. Imaging my 2 year old son was waking up every 20mins as he was so hot so it was a long night for us all. After we hired the fan the nights where more bearable!!
The resort is VERY quiet, there wasn’t much enjoyable entertainment to be found one night a man with an organ was on for about 3hrs I only lasted for two songs!! (Great FUN not) but the salsa dancing and singer's were good.
We had a day out to the waterpark which was a really good day out also I would recommend going to Mahon and head to the harbour as there is alot of boat trips that are really nice and enjoyable.
The Children are also well catered for at the xaloc with large play area at the front of the hotel and our son loves his milk the problem we found was that the milk went off pretty much as soon as you brought it as the weather was so hot, but we was kindly aloud to put the milk in the Hotel Bar fridge as we didn’t have one in our room! So at night time he couldn’t have any milk which he got used to by the end of the holiday so in one way it’s done us a favour!!
After reading my review you are probably thinking we had a terrible holiday but it wasn’t the case we did enjoy the break but I wouldn’t recommend younger people to go there even with children as you and they will get board quickly. There’s only so much sun bathing you can do... Also I would recommend hiring a Fan as soon as you get there also take spending money as its alot of hassle getting money out there!! I don’t think we will be returning until we are probably in our 60's so only 35 years to go. Thanks for taking the time to read my review!!

This hotel is a little gem in probably the best location on the island. Fabulous beach a few seconds away and crystal clear glass sea and wonderful snorkelling and fish!
The staff and service were first class, so helpful and friendly. Very good bar and waitress service and we loved the food, but it is mainly Spanish and not geared for fussy Brits! It is run by a Menorcan family which adds a real Spanish feel. The evening entertainment was good and varied and there is satellite TV in all the rooms and bar area so we didn’t miss out on Wimbledon, football or golf!
We went with MyTravel which is a first class company with excellent reps, very welcoming, much better than First Choice the year before.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable but no air conditioning, fans are available.
To summarise, this is a very good value hotel, the hotel was fine for us but don't expect frills - no saunas, kids clubs etc. Definitely recommend in slightly off peak season as it encourages nice couples, Germans and Brits. We found in our second week in July, the horrors of some of the larger families with noisy kids did not go down too well. Well behaved families encouraged please to keep this place a real find.

We had a very relaxing holiday at the Xaloc Player. The food, served buffet style, was good and varied, with the staff on hand to serve you drinks. All the staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The pool was a little on the small side but as the beach was less than a minute’s walk away it wasn’t too bad (lovely clean beach and clear blue sea). Our room was quite large but there were a group of pine trees growing near the balcony which made it quite dark (but cooler). The hotel provided a room to freshen up on departure day at no extra charge.
The resort is quiet, no loud music or discos, but there was always entertainment to be found somewhere (including the Xaloc most nights). Children are also well catered for with large play areas at no charge.
We hope to return to the Xaloc Player in the near future.

If you are looking for a nice relaxing place to unwind and chill after working hard all year this is the place. My family and I have booked to go again this year. The swimming pool is quite small, as is the overall complex, although that is what makes it special.
The bar closes at midnight, which means that you aren't kept awake by drunken noisy revelers in the early hours, although there's nothing to stop you drinking on your patio or balcony. We thought the food was first class. I agree about the air conditioning (or rather lack of it!) and it's the only thing we would like to be changed for this year. I think what made it such a great place was the really friendly staff.
They were great and we are hoping that the same ones are there again this year! Punta Prima is a very small place although there is a bus stop outside the hotel which takes you directly into Mahon or other towns and cities. Very easy to use. The beach is fifteen second walk away across a small road.

We found the Xaloc very clean and staff were very friendly. The Food was not great so we ate out most nights. At the time there were no labels on the food so we did not know what we were actually eating.
When we arrived early hours of the morning the hotel had a nice chicken salad dinner waiting for everyone which I thought was a lovely touch. It was much appreciated at the time.
The only complaint I would have is there is no air conditioning and I found it very tough since we had a box room in a corner.
All in all I would go back to this hotel as my stay here was a pleasant one.

My husband and I found the hotel accommodation fine but was located on the third floor and there was no lift which is ok if you are fit. Carrying our cases up and down on a tiled staircase was scary. But the exercise helped us after our meals which were excellent. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
There was nothing to do during the day apart from going onto the beach which is located very near, trip on the train costs 14euros for a round trip from Punta Prima and back taking approx. 1 hour. The bus takes you all over, but didn’t get stranded at siesta time.
The evening entertainment was practically non existent if you are young or not so and like music and nightlife this would not be for you.
