This was our second stay at this hotel. The hotel is still kept very clean as are the rooms. At meal times there are plenty of food to choose from, plenty of starters and main meals, and the deserts are plenty, i put on weight again as the selection of deserts are fantastic. As we stayed there with our 2 older and 1 younger son the older boys where a bit bored but they enjoyed there stay as there was plenty of walks to do from the hotel, and the beach is just across the road from the hotel. Also a trip to mahon is a must the bus stop is just behind the hotel and the bus journey is not to long you may have to stand during your journey but it is worth it to visit mahon. plenty of shops and this is where a number of cruise liners stop.I would go back to this hotel again as it is a brilliant place to relax, as the resort is a quiet place it is up to yourself to make the most of it,You can either stay at the pool or go and explore this beautiful island.

My self and my husband arrived at the hotel xaloc about 9.15pm we were greeted by sandy one of the hotel receptionists., who was very helpful and friendly. Although we had missed the evening meal a tasty salad was provided for us in the dinning room. The day after we arrived we went for a walk around the resort we found it to be very clean and quiet. the meals in the hotel were excellent with a good choice. The local bus which runs to Mahon (local name Mao) was regular and always on time. The only problem was on Tuesday's it is market day in mahon and the buses are really busy. Overall I would recommend Punta prima (hotel Xaloc ) to all my friends and family, i am looking forward to going back there again

Hotel looks nice from outside, reception area nice, rooms basic but perfect for sleeping and changing and very clean. Beds made every day with clean towels left, sheets cleaned every few days. Rest of hotel very clean and cleaners were cleaning reception floor all day! Only thing I would suggest is to ask for a 2nd pillow.
Food was nice, good choice. The bar serves lunchtime snacks and these are very good value for money! Pool and pool area nice and clean, only downside is there's a big palm tree on side of pool and casts shadow over sunbathing area however it does move round quickly and you get your sun back!
The hotel is mainly brits and germans and be warned the germans have no concept of que's! They serve evening meal at 7pm-9pm one evening we went down for drink and to be ready for meal at 7pm, a que was forming so we joined it only for another certain nationality to just que jump! This was also done inside the restaurant and at bus stop round corner! So beware!
Beach is beautiful, crystal clear water. The area is very quiet, perfect place if you want to go relax unwind and lay by pool or on beach.
We had a fabulous time and would go again!

Fantastic hotel, staff very friendly, food is a very good standard with fish and meat every night plus all the trimmings. Price of beer is very good, no high prices, entertainment 5n ights a week. Beach is only 2mins across a road, very clean ideal for kids. Punta Prima is very quiet, few bars very laid back, good bus service to other parts of the island and cheap, good value.

Arrived at hotel and found it to be very clean and tidy, pool clean as is the whole complex, crazy golf needs updating, but is set in lovely grounds.
Food very good and service is very good, staff very attentive.
Entertainment is not very good at best poor, we were there two weeks and saw 4 dance troops, 1 band and 1 man on an organ.
If you want a quiet holiday this is the place for you!
Beach just over the road very clean with life guards and a bus stop just round corner to visit Mahon and rest of island.
Resort very quiet and there is not much to do after dark.

This was our third consecutive annual visit to this small family run hotel. The staff are absolutely fantastic, as is the food, cleaning and decor. We haven't had any stomach upsets during any of our visits.
There are high expectations of good behaviour (from both children and adults!), which suits us fine. This means that rowdiness is not tolerated and the hotel bar closes at midnight enabling a good night's sleep.
We would definitely recommend hiring a room fan as soon as you arrive, and the only reason we haven't given this ten out of ten is due to the lack of A/C in the bedrooms, although it is in the restaurant and reception area.
There is not a great deal to do for teenagers as Punta Prima is a very small quiet resort, although our children made friends with others in the hotel, and spent hours in the pool, playing table tennis or pool in the hotel grounds.
The local bus service picks up outside the hotel which takes you into the capital Mahon within twenty/twenty five minutes. Buses are air conditioned and much better than ours - they are more like our coaches. Beware of siesta times though when they often stop running.
To summarise, if you are looking for a friendly, quiet place to unwind and relax this could be just for you. If you want a really lively karaoke style all night partying type of holiday, give this one a miss.

What a fantastic holiday my daughter and I had. We were looking for something on the quiet side as this was our first holiday abroad.
The hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff were fantastic from day one. The rooms were quite spacious and cleaned daily. The food was good with an excellent choice of different dishes.
The pool and surrounding area was very clean and tidy and we didn't have to struggle getting a sun bed near the pool!!
The bus services were good and ran on time and is definitely worth a visit into Mahon itself.

My partner and I have just returned from one week at Hotel Xaloc in Punta Prima and had a great time. Though the resort is quiet there are plenty of place on the island to be found so a hire car is must. Every where is well sign posted so getting lost is not a problem. Mahon is quiet a nice town though very busy especially on market day. Cuitedella on the other side of the island is far nicer but quieter but they also have a good market.
The hotel is superb for the perfect relaxing holiday though I would not take children over the age of about 10 as there is very little for them to do apart from swim. If you want to be up after midnight forget it, the bar is closed and the lights go out so drink up before then if you want to sit in the light!
The food was good and varied and there was no rush at meal times, the staff were there to take you order for drinks with the evening meal.
The rooms were cleaned every day; clean towels and the beds were changed twice and the pool was cleaned every day. There is a small crazy golf course, table tennis and pool table. No charge apart for the pool table but not the cues.
All in all we had a lovely holiday and would recommend it to any one who wants a get away from it all and relaxing holiday

This was the most amazing holiday! The hotel is fantastic. The staff are lovely and friendly and do appreciate it if you speak Spanish to them, although they may answer in English! The food is the best ever. A salad bar with various salads and dressings, usually 2 meat options, fish and veggie option - yum! Puddings were lush too especially the rice pudding and chocolate blamange!
The hotel entertainment was fantastic, especially the flamenco dancing, African dancing, singing group and Salvador, the keyboard player!
This holiday was brilliant as the resort is so quiet - about 6 restaurants, 2 supermarkets and a pharmacy (plus 2 pubs) its the perfect place for a quiet, relaxing holiday with a nice beach to chill on (minus the jellyfish!).
I would recommend this to couples who just want peace and quiet and are not fussed about nightlife or having to do something constantly!
The only slightly annoying thing was children diving into pool when there were signs up warning them not too and lack of parental control!
Me and my friend will be returning next year.

On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by really friendly staff, they were very tentative to all our needs and any problems were sorted out straight away.
The food was quite good with a selection of fish, meat, or salad and the sweets were to die for, plenty of choice and plenty of it!
The area is a bit on the quiet side but there is an excellent bus service with a bus stop 50 metres from the hotel and they run on time unlike the UK!
The roads are quiet so hiring a car is a must because you can find your own little beach to hide away in.
The hotel rooms are cleaned every day as is the swimming pool, not very big but lovely and warm and surrounded by palm trees and exotic plants.
The beach is very close just across the road really, the entertainment in the hotel was fair with some good turns.
There were a few bars away from the hotel which also served good food namely the ANCHOR pub turn right out of the hotel 200 meters up hill on your left and it is run by British staff, very friendly too.
Shopping in Punta Prima is limited so if shopping is your thing then you will have to get to Mahon about 20 minutes by bus.

Where to start. Ok it's a wonderfully short drive to Punta Prima.
The Xaloc is clean, rooms are a little small but a major plus we have BBC's 1, 2 & 3 (they do however disappear around 10.30pm though).
The food is very boring and little imagination goes into them if you're a veggie like me then don’t bother at all!
The cleaning staff are brilliant they even put my pj's under my pillow!
The entertainment is very 'tacky' and I would say that if you cannot do with the Germans, don’t go to the restaurant early, as they send one up to queue and when they get to the from another 2 appear!
Very close to the beach, it's just across from the reception and close to all local amenities you would need.
Within walking distance of a little English bar run by a super family, turn left out of the reception area and then it's your first left.
Enjoy!

Have just come back from what can only be described as a fabulous family holiday. This is the first year myself and my partner have taken our 3 year old son abroad. Yes we were slightly nervous, had only holidayed as a couple before, never with small child! But we had no need to worry, the Hotel Xaloc Playa, Punta Prima and Menorca in general were first class. We wanted a relaxing holiday, good hotel, good food, friendly team, time by the pool, nice beaches, the usual! I can honestly say we got it all, we couldn't have chosen better if we'd tried.
The hotel staff were brilliant, very friendly and accomodating, rooms basic but nothing to complain about, fine to crash in. Food was great, good choice, even appealed to our 'chips with everything' son!! Lovely resort for what we wanted, Mahon so easy to get to too, even with pushchair.
Have never felt compelled to write a review before, but our experience was so good I can't recommend enough, this coming from two restaurant/ hotel managers - who can probably be quite critical at times!
Have always followed the never go back to the same place twice, but already wanting to book for Summer '09.
( Have to thank all who holidayed at the beginning of July who put up with screams from our son refusing to go in pool - we got there in the end!!)
