Cala Martina Apartments Reviews
" All our correspondence said that... "

All our correspondence said that these apartments are located in Santa Eulalia, they are not, they are nearer to Es Canar which is still a 15 minute walk mainly on a dirt track and busy road with no footpath.
Santa Eulalia is 7km away which would take you approximately an hour and a half to walk this distance on a similar road with no footpath.
The accommodation is basic to say the least! The furniture old and tatty. The cooking rings in the apartment did not work. The bath and fridge leaked. We had no hot water for two days out of seven and we also had an ants nest on the balcony, which incidentally overlooked a building site!
Some other couples/families that we spoke to had cockroaches in their apartments and some apartments located around the back of the small complex had been burgled within the past week.
On a positive note the swimming pool was nice and cleaned regularly. The entertainment lady (Dawn) was very nice and enthusiastic.

" Airtours totally mislead us with this... "

Airtours totally mislead us with this holiday. We were told we were going to Santa Eulalia and it would be 500 metres from our apartment. It turned out to be an hour and a half walk away! The complex was described as rural, with volleyball, badminton, playground, children’s entertainment, regular evening entertainment, and mini market.
It actually turned out to be in the middle of nowhere with a disgusting building site next door, no badminton or volleyball, a dangerous play area for kiddies with rusty chairs with huge springs (not the picture on the Cala Martina website of an adventure playground), no children’s entertainment, once a week evening entertainment, a so called shop with little in it except out of date food and a chiller that stopped working every now and again and then worked again, with the same meat and dairy food in it all the time!
The accommodation was poor, consisting of a half working cooker hob, dirty fridge, not enough cups for our party, tired and grubby towels and sheets that weren’t changed often enough, a faulty smoke alarm, phone that didn’t work and patio doors that only a strong man could open. The room was dirty and wasn’t cleaned often enough either. The whole complex didn’t reflect 2 key, let alone 3 key!
Es Cana was a 15 minute walk away (just as well because there was no car hire available and taxis were rare with buses once an hour if they weren’t full up) and had many shops and restaurants which was nice. Beach nearby was also nice with Spaniards on their holidays...must be good.
Don’t go to Cala Martina!

If you are looking for quiet, this is ideal. The apartments are very basic, but also clean and we had no complaints, though the place felt like it needed some tlc.
The resort is a short walk to Es Canar or a bus to Santa Eulalia. Taxis are readily available and very cheap.
The entertainment was spot on for us. (Something most nights but not until 10 and just a quiz/bingo/karaoke etc.)

Nothing like the brochure says its not just rural area you are very remote from shops, bars and restaurants. On arrival we very alone as we were the only two people at these apartments also a lot of construction work that we were not notified about.
There was no 24 hour reception at these apartments which in my view is not acceptable. As far as self catering goes I will say no more apart from our cutlery was kept in the top drawer of our bedside cabinets. After a bad start to our holiday I thought I had nothing better to do than go for a nice warm bath to find that the water wouldn’t cover my ankles.
On the positive side the owner and the staff couldn’t do enough for us its Aspro holidays I blame for strongly misleading us in the brochure. Never again.

Apartments were filthy, sheets/towels rarely changed, constant musky smell, dark and dingy, no air conditioning, and worst of all, cockroaches in the night. Which woke us up, so we had to hunt the things before getting back to sleep.
No proper reception, so if you had a problem you could never find anyone.
Had a 20 minute walk with 2 children on a busy road into Es Cana to get something to eat, and then had to get a taxi home with the most miserable taxi drivers on this planet.
The only good thing about the holiday was that the pool was nice and quiet and eating out is cheaper than at home.
Although my mum was ill from eating at a restaurant in town, in the second week of our holiday and had to go hospital, she never recovered until we got home.
That kind of finished the holiday for me. Couldn’t wait for the holiday to end so I could get back into my cockroach free home. Will never go back to Ibiza again.
