Couldn't have asked for any better
from stacey_87
Me and my boyfriend got a cheap deal for these apartments. we didnt really know what to expect but when we arrived we honestly couldn't have asked for any better. for a start it is only 10 mins from the airport. when we arrived the staff were brilliant, they couldnt do enough for you. The layout of the apartments is lovely and the room was spotless. i honestly couldnt complain. The pool bar was great, playing music all day, it really made it a brilliant atmosphere during the day. The food that was served was really lovely with a great choice of menu. The location of the apartments was perfect. it was right in the centre of playa den bossa amongst the shops, bars and restaurants. they were literally on you doorstep as you walked out of the the appartments. The front of the apartments was superb. the sea view and view of formentera island was next to none. At night i twas really romantic. There was something here to suit everyone. If your one for eating out try the Oasis cafe, its beautiful and Murphys Irish Pub was absolutley brill. I have already booked to go back here next year and would definatley reccommend it to anyone. Very impressed

I was a little apprehensive about this holiday prior to going as the apartments were only rated a 3* in the brochure. I normally book a hotel/apartment which has the airtours day and evening entertainment. However I was pleasantly suprised. Firstly the resort is only 5-10 mins from the aiport and secondly the apartments were located right in the beach and easy walk onto the main strip of shops/cafes/bars etc. The apartments were clean enough and decor was fine. The Sal Rosssa itself was almost always bustling; large screen showing the football, occasional evening entertainment etc. The bar staff are the best I have ever met - very very polite and helpful and get on well with all the holidaymakers. Would recommend the Sal Rossa if you are looking for a bargain break!
fantastic!!

hi there, i stayed in the sal rossa apartements on the second of october until the nineth 2006. i was a bit worried at first with it only being 1 key but when i arrived i was amazed. it is extremely clean well decorated and staff are very friendly. it was late 20's early 30's whilst me and my boyfriend was out there baring in mind the is no aircon in the rooms or fans BUT the rooms were always really cool so they are not needed. just a few steps from the clean beach (literally) very close to bars restaurants, busses are very cheap. hotel serves good food and also has entertainment which is very enertaining haha. i would also recomend going on some of the boat trips formentera is beautiful take your own drinks though. overall the holiday was fantastic and ibiza is deffinately not just for young people it is beautiful. :)

Well, what can i say about these appartments? If i'd have known that the people staying there would be clones of Wayne and Waynetta, then believe me, i would have booked elsewhere. I am not a snob at all, and am only 26. Myself, my partner and my one year old son went there to celebrate his first birthday and were pleasantly surprised with the pictures of the hotel and the price. However, when we arrived there, we were greeted with a frosty reception from the staff, and then we spotted the other guests. Some had no teeth, swearing, full of tattoos, fags in mouths. (I smoke but do not stand there with it hanging out of my mouth). I thought "hmmmm, lovely atmosphere for my son". Then we got to our room....if you can call it that. Yes, it may have been clean (ish) but believe me, it was very short of space, and the running water there, is just pure, AND I MEAN PURE sea water. Imagine brushing your teeth in salt and showering in it. This is what we had to do. We couldnt wash our sons bottles or food containers in it as there was visible traces of salt left afterwards so we had to spend alot of money on mineral water just to wash up. We looked forward to a cup of tea, but the kettle was caked in salt water and it couldnt be removed so we went without tea. My sons travel cot was not in the best of conditions either, with holes in the mesh and unremovable stains on it. Needless to say i was grateful i had brought my own sheet for him. We also had ants in the appartment, crawling through holes in the bathroom wall. I must admit, the cleaners were very friendly and always tried to entertain my son, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The resort itself is lovely with 30 degree weather most days, and there are endless amounts of supermarkets, who have friendly staff in them. Odd though, as not one shop or supermarket there sell cigarettes, which i found parculiar. You had a choice of one tabacco shop and that was it. Although this was never too busy. I did have a nice holiday and would go to Playa D'en Bossa again but no way in this life time would i stay in those dreary, damp, ant infested appartments again. i felt guilty for making my baby sleep there as he came home with a stinking cold. None of us could wait to jump into a clean shower with fresh water, as we felt dirty for the duration of that holiday. If you are respectable people who like a bit of comfort (thats not alot for anyone to ask) without the rowdy, toothless, tattooed chavs who let their kids run riot then avoid this at all costs. You have been warned.

Great apartments

I had read lots of mixed reviews and was a bit apprehensive about going i also read that another tour operator got first choice on the air con and sea view rooms so i phoned the sal rossa a couple of days before we flew. The receptionist confirmed this to be true we asked if we could pay extra on arrival he was very helpful and would try his best to help. On arrival they had manged to accomodate our request and there was a small charge of 5 euros a day which we did not mind paying as there was a heatwave coming ( it was still 37 degrees at 8 oclock on an evening it was stifling). The room was basic but very clean, not very big but we managed ok (2 adults 2 kids aged 10). I have only one small gripe about these apartments, the maid service was every 3 days but there was nothing to keep the apartment clean e.g sweeping brush etc and only a small waste bin for all your rubbish. The kitchen area was adequate for us as we ate out mostly but too small if you are going to be catering for yourself the whole holiday. Downstairs is a bar and restaraunt, the staff are very friendly even still managing a smile and conversation in the searing heat. The food is excellent proper bacon and sausage and not too expensive. The entertainment is on 3 to 4 nights a week, most of it was quite painful to watch apart from a band who were excellent cant remember their name but they were two english guys even the kids liked them! The kids also really enjoyed the parrot show but watch he doesnt try and rip you off with the souvenier photo he will try to take individual photos of everyone in the family charging 10 euros each instead of taking the whole family together in one photo. There was a little noise on a night from the traffic on the street im a light sleeper so use earplugs but it didnt bother the rest of the family. Everyone complained about the size of the pool and lounging area but i didnt mind it being small as i was never far from the pool and could see the kids whereever my bed was. Sun beds are kept under lock and key until 9am which again everyone was complaining about but i thought it was great i didnt have to dive out of bed at 6.30 as i have done on other holidays. You need to get down about 8 to 8.30 to claim a spot though , i would find a chair and umberella and claim my spot sit and read the paper till 9 , get the sunbed put my towels out then go get the kids up no hassle cant understand why everyone grumbled so much. Just down the steps was the beach very nice and clean. There is a charge for sun loungers on the beach (nothing to do with the sal rossa) 15 euros for 2 beds and a brolly they even tried to charge me from half past 3 in the afternoon for a full day such a rip off. Night life is just a short walk up the street as is a funfair and straight up the road past the fun fair is a small games park which is good for the kids its 3 euros for unlimited turns on the games, trampolines go karts etc and a bar for mums and dads so you can chill out with a drink. The atmosphere on the main strip is great on a night but not many bars have entertainment for kids. Big Bens is ok for familys with music and shows every evening but they dont often start till ten. There is a bowling alley and mini golf just before big bens which is good for kids too. Murphys is supposed to be excellent and gets very busy apparently you have to get there early we never made it as we were only there for a week. If you are visiting ibiza town take the boat taxi which is a ten to 15 minute walk up the beach but i preferred this to waiting for jam packed buses in the heat and not too expensive, 12 euros for all of us cheaper if you buy return nice chilled out ride with lovely views of the coast only takes about 15 minutes on the boat and they leave every half hour, every hour on a sunday. The aqua park is a five minute walk from sal rossa although its small compared to others it was good. Overall the holiday was good 1 week was enough for us there is not enough for kids to do on an evening. Oh yeah it is true by the way that the aeroplanes do tickle the top of your head as they land at the airport which is ten minutes away but honestly you dont even notice them after a couple days and its not constantly happening as other people claim in reviews. Would i go back ? yes i think i would but in a big group for company.
Great find

This a great little block of apartments right on Plays d'en Bossa beach. You could not wish for a better location as the pool is facing the sea and the beach is only down a few steps. The rooms are basic but spotlessly clean and each one has a balcony. The bar serves food and drink all day and is good value for money with a wide choice of food. Playa D'en Bossa is a nice enough resort, not too lively but with enough going on. Ibiza Town is only a short bus ride away if you fancy going somewhere else. You can also get the ferry to Formentera from Playa D'en Bossa which is well worth a visit for it's gorgeous beaches You can usually get reasonably priced deals to Sal Rossa and I would recommend it to anyone
Good location and base for Ibiza Town
from A TripAdvisor Member
The Sal Rossa was a last minute deal for us and at the end of the season so we were not expecting too much, however we were impressed mainly by the location - as close to the beach as I have ever stayed - literally a few steps, not many rooms with a view but if you are lucky to get one all the better. The rooms were basic and in need of some modernisation, no air con that I could see but did not effect us in October although the weather was great (mid twenties and sunny). The resort was a good base for both the airport and Ibiza Town which is not to be missed and is only a 1euro 20 cents bus away, or if you feel energetic a 3/4 hour walk or so. Resort has usual mix of pubs and places to eat but we went to Ibiza Town most nights as good atmosphere and more traditional places to eat in little squares and side streets which is more our cup of tea. Overall if you can get a cheap deal here you will not go far wrong.

Loved It
from nuttybabe
I stayed in the Sal Rossa in August 2003 and loved it. The apartment was clean and had basically everything I needed for my holiday. The location of the apartments is great for everything, shopping , bars , restaurants and nightlife and also situated straight on the beach from the pool. The bar by the pool sold almost everything to eat or drink and had entertainment most evenings. I could not fault my holiday the town or the apartments and would definately return.
Just returned from a week at the Sal Rossa. We thought it was excellent and very good value for money SAL ROSA – Situated in a cul-de-sac, so quiet, but very close to shops & restaurants. Food is cheap and large portions. Drinks are as cheap as anywhere else. The pool... more
