We have just returned from pine lake...

Mar 2008, Mrs K Robson

We have just returned from pine lake resort with our 5 & 8 year old children. The lodge we stayed in was excellent, clean, well equipped and very comfortable, not to mention a blessing for the central heating as the weather was extrememly mixed. Excellent location for visiting the lake district national park. The restaurant served good food at a reasonable price and the leisure pool was fine.
Would definitely recommend our lodge (no 72) to family and friends as it was very welcoming and first class.
The views over the lake were stunning.

We have just returned from a fantastic weekend at this resort. Our 2 bedroomed lodge was excellent, clean throughout, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher/washing machine/fridge freezer...absolutely everything you could possibly need for a weekend away. Our lodge had 2 bathrooms which was great as we were with our 2 children. Both bedrooms had portable TV's and hairdryers The lounge had TV, DVD player and stereo.
The leisure facilities were excellent, swimming pool was clean with well equiped changing facilities.
The kids enjoyed the play area, amusement and air hockey, table tennis etc.
The restaurant had a good menu choice and the food we had there was excellent and reasonably priced.
Our lodge was situated on the edge of the lake and it was wonderful to see the ducks outside each morning.
A great base for a trip to the lakes, about 15-20minute drive to Windermere. We would definitely return to this resort.

A lovely resort located just off the M6. Unfortunately we were only able to stay for 2 nights but thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
The accommodation was spotless and even had its own sauna! The views over the lake were fantastic and the swimming pool/steam room on site was very relaxing.
The resort also offers a nice bar/club area with entertainment offered during the evenings. The resort also has a full restaurant and bar meals available.
Could not fault at all and hope to return in the near future!

We have just returned home to...

We have just returned home to Scotland after a week long break at pine lake resort. My partner and my 1 year old son and I had a wonderful time.
The resort is beautiful and is well kept, our logde was very clean and in good condition. We didn’t expect the resort to be soo busy at this time of the year but we believe most of the lodges were all full!
The leisure centre is well kept along with the reception area and splashers the kids play area which our son loved. We used to feed the ducks and geese every morning!
There is also a Tesco about 90 seconds drive from the resort and a small street with a few shops/pubs etc. We had a drive down to Manchester and Blackpool for the day which didn’t take long at all.
We will definitely be going back in the summer!

My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful one week stay here. The weather couldn't have been better and our 2-bed lodge was only eight steps from the edge of the lake. The ducks, geese and swans were fed well by us. The shop on site even sold £1 bags of food to feed the birds! We loved sitting in our lounge with the patio doors open watching the activities on the lake. The activities team were great with the children on site and 'splashers' amusement centre kept our daughter amused at night while we played bingo, quizzes, horse-racing (the poker chips were free), watched the talent show and listened to the cabaret act (the activities team) or just danced to the disco music.
The food in Morgana's bar and restaurant was brilliant. I didn't cook all week but the only thing missing was a cooked breakfast on site as Morgana's didn't serve this. We went to the Truck Haven to eat breakfast every day. This was only a short distance from the resort. Tesco supermarket was just a mile away in the town centre of Carnforth. I would recommend taking a citronella candle with you if like to sit with your patio door open during the evening as the mosquitoes come out on the lake when it goes dark.
The lake activities included pedalos, canoes, double canoes, exscream board, banana boat, water skiing, speed boat rides and wake boards. For £15 you could learn to water ski and for £20 you could have a pedalos that seated 5 people for a whole hour. We didn't quite make it around the whole of the lake in that time! The shop on site was small but adequate. DVD rental was £3.50 for a day. Lots of tourist information leaflets are available in reception.
You could even rent a bike from reception. The welcome meeting was useful and Kendal and Windermere were only a short drive as were the rest of the Lake District or Silverdale. The indoor swimming pool on site was a good size and there was a small gym and beauty salon offering massages etc. Staff were very helpful. The lodge was clean but had no air conditioning or fan. The week we went there it was 30 degrees but because we kept the patio door open whenever we were in the lodge, it was okay but could have been better with air conditioning.
It could get quite hot in 'Waves' entertainment room towards the end of the night but the staff helped as much as they could by opening some exit doors to let air in. Bar staff were friendly and keen to serve you. We would certainly visit Pine Lake Resort again. Just bear in mind that there is wildlife on site and bird poo can be seen on the grassed areas but the maintenance staff are constantly around the site cleaning any muck that's left on the pavements so it's not an issue.

My husband and two children age 10...

My husband and two children age 10 and 16 stayed at pine lakes for a week. We booked our lodge from a Mr Bainbridge through holiday lets. The lodge was lovely spotlessly clean, a bed to die for and comfort throughout.
Every morning we were greeted by the ducks who came to the back of the lodge which had decking to be fed.
The night entertainment was really good and we met some good friends who we have met up with a few times since. If your looking for a relaxing quiet holiday away from it all pine lakes is perfect.

We stayed as a family with 2 children...

We stayed as a family with 2 children and 2 adults. The accommodation was not as luxurious as we had believed. Although the kitchen was well equipped with microwave, toaster, dishwasher and washing machine. The bathroom was in need of a upgrade. The shower was of little use and the only heating was in the form of a heated towel rail that produced very little heat. We did have a DVD along with a decent sized television but the living room was cramped with the table being pushed right into the corner and the chairs did not fully match each other.
Entertainment is ok if you like to play bingo and play your cards right, otherwise better off staying in and reading a book. The onsite restaurant serves good quality food at a reasonable price we had a 2 course meal with a bottle of wine for 4 people which cost £80. This resort is great for access to the lake district and the dales and well worth a visit to enjoy the beauty of this part of England.

My husband and I stayed at this resort for only two nights but wish we could have stayed longer. The accommodation was very smart and clean and the log cabins were all situated around a man-made lake. The lake was a bird sanctuary and was also used for water-skiing and fishing. However, I would have like the opportunity to go out on it on a rowing boat. It was only a short drive north on the motorway to the Lake District.
