where can I start!
Firstly I would warn anyone thinking about staying here not to.. we, unfortunately learnt the hard way and would not like anyone to go through what we had to go through. Me and 3 of my girl mates stayed here due to the location,
but if we could turn back time we would not have every stayed here.
1) THE HOTEL STAFF
Every day was a battle for us, trying to leave our hotel. We would get questioned constantly to 'where we was going' as the hotel staff do not like you to explore anywhere else except in front of the hotel and in there bar.
They was agressive, rude, arrogant, and we did not appreciate the bar men there hassling us each and every day. We eventually had enough and started to ignore them, they would then give us dirty looks, and mutter something in there language.. which we are sure was abusive. The only problem was that they is no way at all to avoid them as there is only one entrance to the hotel which makes sure you have to pass the bar staff every time you go out and return to the hotel. We've all heard of the word pushy but these staff take it to another extreme, it was total harassment every day!!!
2) NO HOT WATER
For the first 3 days me and my mate did not have any hot water! We tried to speak to the hotel reception but one did not understand what we was saying and the manager is never around when you need them. Luckily there was 4 of us in 2 rooms so we used our mates room which luckily did have hot water. After finally spotting the manager the water was sorted out but our shower was broken! It was a complete joke. We nicknames the hotel faulty towers as it was that bad.
3) FOOD
The food was not fit enough for a dog! We unfortunately paid for Half Board but we only ate breakfast twice and dinner twice. But then two of us started to get funny stomachs after eating there so we decided to eat out every day. Be prepared for them to tell you what to eat, being HB in this hotel in completely different to the uk or any other hotel we have been to. For dinner we came down expecting to seee the usual buffet, came down.. nothing there?? asked one of the waiters 'apparently' he had never heard of HB and then finally they made us some food, but the next day they refused to give us any food as they said we was late, but when we enquired about food we was told from 7.30pm until 1am!!!! We spoke to the restaurant manager who after a heated arguement told us to '[--] off'! we could not believe it! They had no manners and if this was the manager then where do we go from now!!!!! Breakfast, eergh was horrible, the only goof things is that the bread was fresh! but the free juice was horrific! after a sip we all felt sick!
4) LIGHTS
We have to laugh at this now but what a complete joke.
Be prepared to get several calls from the hotel reception asking you to turn off the balcony lights, even when you are using the balcony! When we asked the reason why they advised the manager asked us to put them off! When we got the call again we just used to out the phone down on them. Also late at night, well not even that late all the hotel corridoor lights would be put off, when you come back they would switch them on then after 5 mins go off again! I Wen to go out late at night opened the door to complete darkness, I had to call the reception several times asking for them to put the lights back on!
5) POWER CUT
We came back from a nice day out in icmeler only to find out we had a power cut.
we called reception and we spoke to a guy who was so rude and did not even apologise for this he lied and advised us that the whole or mamaris had had a power cut, yet the adjacent hotel to us had its lights on!!! We was told it should be on it a few hours.. 'maybe'!!!
6) THE HOTEL ENTERTAINMENT
One night the hotel staff literally would not let us go out of the hotel they forced us to sit down and have a drink at the hotel. Then came the hotel entertainment.. You get the rude hotel staff doing the same routine everyday, very basic and nothing to look forward to, however the belly dancer was amazing along with the micheal jackson tribute and the breakdancers was also very good. But once you've seen it once be prepared to see the same show each and every nite. We only sat there for one night then other nights we used to have a nice meal out of the hotel.. and go to our usual place, cream bar, where the guys do not hassle you there.
7) LOCATION
As I mentioned before the hotel is in a perfect location on the beach and near all the bars and restuarants, with the dolmus bus nearby making it very easy to go to bar street or Icmeler beach, which is a must, it is beautiful there and the beach actually looks like a beach, unlike mamaris where there is a very limited amount of sand! which the turks refer to as small beach. Icmeler beach, 10 mins by bus or 20 by boat is where we spent most of out time.. hassle free beautiful beach. Location is the only plus side but bearing in mind all of the above there are many hotels along the beachfront, this has to be the worst. And not worth the hassle at all, as when we was away from this hotel we was soo happy but retunring to see them every day was like a nightmare!!
8) ROOM
The rooms was relatively small and clean with the exception of the stain marks on the carpet and the marks arond the shower! The toilets in our room was in a strange position but we had to get used to it, luckily it was only a week as we all could not have stayed at this hotle another secound!!!!! The balcony was very very small but had a beautiful view to the seafront.
9) THE HOTEL LIFT
I wish I had taken a picture of the lift. It was something out of the 16th century! You would mauanlly open the lift door, enter, only space for two slim people, then close the door and the shutters would go accross. However the lift only worked now and then. Luckily we was only on the 3rd floor, but even this was a tiring walk up the stairs. Two of my friends got stuck inside the lift and opened the door only to see a brickwall! sounds funny now but at the time was quite scarry.
10) HOTEL SECURITY
To be honest what security. There is none, which left you feeling unsafe at nights especially after arriving approx 5am and seeing a strange guy walking up and down next to our hotel. There was serveal ways to enter the hotel via different emergency exits on each level via a outside stairs. The maids often used this but the doors would be left open late at night for virtually anyone to enter!!! This is the main issue not feeling safe!! We all stayed together or in pairs but even still this is just not acceptable!
SO PLS PLS PLS if thinking about staying here pls look elsewhere as we would not wish the treatment and service we received apon anyone!!!

AWFUL HOTEL! First night they tried to put me and my girlfriend into a room on the fifth floor. It was like a squat. There were two holes in the bathroom floor that we presume were drains for the shower (that was basically a tap on the wall next to the toilet and not separate from the rest of the bathroom), doors wouldn't lock etc (I think you get the picture by now!). The next morning the lovely but very over pressured hotel manager (I don’t think she realised how bad this hotel was either when she applied for the job) put us into a room on the second floor which had been refurbished but had no hot water....we changed rooms again! This hotel is falling apart!
BE WARNED THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY IN AND ONE WAY OUT OF THIS HOTEL! This means you have to ensue a battle with the hotel bar staff who are rude, arrogant and even aggressive when you try to leave the hotel and go and explore Marmaris! We got stung the first couple of days with bar bills until we realised that every other bar cost a lot less and best of all no hassle and above all nice staff. Oh, the pool is like the size of a bath, dirty and I never saw anyone in there. Surprise!
Breakfast is awful here! We went out in the morning with enough food for breakfast, lunch and dinner so that we wouldn't have to return to the hotel and have another battle with the staff. This didn’t go down well with the staff to put it lightly. Each and every time you passed you were questioned on where you were going and why. Apparently the truth does hurt! (when we told them that drinks were nearly half the price down the road in the nicest possible wyt they replied saying ‘its only 2 lira per drink cheaper there”….erm……?) The good thing is that after a week and a half of this they start to leave you alone although they give you dirty looks instead and mutter things in Turkish that are probably not very nice. One staff member even stuck his fingers up at us!!!! This behavior and atmosphere just because we refused to drink at the hotel almost ruined our holiday!
Oh, on one night we come back to the hotel to witness a large scale fight with the hotel staff and some locals, using sticks on each other.
We tried to change this hotel after reading reviews on this website but the company we booked it with (Travel Republic) were a joke. The only way to change this was to speak to them via email of which they would take days to respond. Eventually we got down to prices and they quoted us triple and sometimes up four times the cost for the hotels we enquired about than what was listed on their own website. By this time we had lost weeks and were eventually told (when we were able to get through) that is was too late to change anything unless we paid for another booking. The phone call from the manager that we asked for never came.
If you are in the same boat contact your rep when you arrive. Cause a stink and request that you be moved! (The best place to stay would be further along the beach. It’s a little further from bar street but the hotels, bars and restaurants are son much nicer and properly run. There are also buses that run to bar street which are very frequent and cheap.
As mentioned Natalie’s Steak House is very good! Also The Garden Restaurant is also very good and we spent most our time there and the food is brilliant.
For scuba diving Miss Katie Dive Centre is the best and are more professional than other diving schools there that we tried. (Go to them direct and you’ll get it cheaper than via agents).
The Rock Club in Bar Street was my favorite, right next to the Green House club and with the best kebab place opposite what more could you ask for?

the best holiday iv ever had by far...
the nightlife was amazing..stayed at hotel till entertainment finished then went on to nightclub 5 mins down the road
staff are a bit pushy,,,but we used to laugh it off and just walk out n come back when we pleased, i fink they realised by the 2nd night we were not gonna eat there!!although they made sure we had a good seat eevrynight when we returned and would re-open the bar for us at like 5am!!!
love jason the beach waiter...our hangover curer always had time to get them cold cokes n crisps after a rough nite so didnt mind paying the extra for his service...
love the bar manager he was excellent, made best mates with him basically n managed to barter him for good deals on cocktails, free shots and triple vodkas...
would definetely go back but would stay longer.althoguh i would never go with goldtrail...gosh the aeroplane was disgusting, no music/movies, no meals n tape on the windows...proably the longest 4 hours of my life!!!but i would definetely book direct next time n get my own flights...

Well, got back from our stay at the Green Beach and I can say that I am glad to have left that hotel. First night we got there Hotel was apparently fully booked so they carted us off to some shabby Hotel down the road. We where told we could come back in the morning and there will be a room. Turned up in the morning to be told again there was no room which we objected to as could not unpack or settle in and we where very tired from travelling for 12 hours. Eventually later on in the evening we where able to move in. Opened the door to our hotel room ready to unpack to find the maids asleep in our beds! They where very apologetic but clearly there where some communication problems. Room was fine, just enough space to put our clothes. Bathroom was adequate. Balcony was small but no real problem. There was also a fridge in the room which was handy however you where not allowed to bring in water from outside and they charged a fortune for it.
Anyway once we got over the first few days managed to settle in to our holiday. We did not stay at the beach on the hotel front as didn't like to sunbath like sardines. We walked a few yards down and found a more spacious area with much nicer beach boys. The guys at our hotel took great offence to this and pestered us every day to stay at their beach even though we explained to them the reasons why we didn't.
Then the fun really started. We wanted to try out different areas in Marmaris as there where so many different restaurants bars etc and again they took real offence to us not wanting to eat & drink at the Hotel. We would get collard (physically) every night and moaned at for not eating at the Hotel. Eventually we gave in and had a meal there which was fine and stayed for the entertainment (not that impressed) but then they got too over friendly and so we quickly made a sharp exit. We made fun of it though and each time we left our hotel room we would prepare ourselves to run the gauntlet out of the hotel which we laughed about so much.
The reception staff where lovely and very helpful and the cleaners did a good job and always smiled. Some of the bar/restaurant staff where fine but there where 2 in particular that would not leave us alone and where very unhappy about us not staying in the hotel. We did not want to eat there, sleep there, sun bath there and drink there ALL the time. Marmaris had so much more to offer.
The place we booked through also mentioned about a fitness centre and sauna. Well don't expect to use it as we started to walk down the path to the fitness centre and where quickly moved away and told it was shut!
Even though we experienced these problems it did not ruin our holiday. It depends on what you are looking for it you want to stay at this Hotel. They had entertainment each night which went on till 1.20am (very loud and basic). It was right on the beach front which was great and we walked into the town centre each night which was a nice stroll down the beach front so there where some positives. Breakfast was basic but we just had the cereal each morning which was fine.
I would say its definitely a hotel for young singles where you can just roll out of bed and onto the beach and everything is there that you need. Not ideal for family's or couples wanting a romantic escape or if you want to experience Marmaris as you will get hassle each day for wanting to step outside the Hotel.
Can happily say I wont ever be going back to that Hotel.

We found the Green Beach Hotel very clean but the rooms were very small as were the balconies. The bar staff were very aggressive in trying to get you to eat in the restaurant or buy drinks. At times I witnessed them pulling people from the walkway into the bar to sit them down and get them to order drinks or food. The music was very very loud and very repetitive each night with staff dancing, Micheal Jackson and Break dancers until 1am each morning. Not suitable for a quiet holiday or for families with young children. The bar staff were very loud and banged drums blew whistles to make it look as if everyone was having fun. The area catered for the british experience and had a lot of british food but if you were looking to experience the real Turkey with real Turkish food and its culture then this area of Marmaris was not suitable. This hotel is suitable for young single people who like to party all night and have a fortune to spend on drinks as that was all that was important to the staff. You were not allowed to bring water into your room you had to buy it from the hotel at 4 times the price of the supermarket. Every day you get questioned about where you are going and why you are not staying at their beach front where you have to pay more for your drinks and food. If you are not single or a girl or spending lots of money they do not wish to know. Having said this the location was right on the beach and taxi boats and Dolmus bus were very accessible so we made good use of both and left early each morning coming back for a shower and change and going out to dinner and not returning until 1am whan the music was toned down.

We actually stayed in another hotel, not far from Green Beach. But after spending our first afternoon on the beach infront of Green Beach, we barely left again!
The Location was fantastic, right on the beach, with beautiful views, and close to shops and clubs.
The waiters were amazingly friendly, treating us like regulars within 2 days. We were given our own table, reduced prices, and free nibbles and shots. This continued on the beach, where we were given coffee, nuts, and turkish delight every day. I am aware that being two 19 year old girls, the waiters obbviously took a shine to us, which may not be true for families, or gropus of guys, but its hard to say for sure.
Food was great, Turkish night on a Saturday especially. Prices were the same as most other bars, and entertainment was brilliant, but very repetative. We were made to join in every night, due to our friendship with the waiters, but it was all good fun.
We are going back in October, hopefully to stay in Green Beach itself. Fantastic!!

I stayed at this hotel with my 7 year old son. Upon arrival at 02:00 we were extremely tired but couldn't get to sleep due to excessively loud music and an annoying tapping noise from outside- this eventually stopped at about 04:00.
On our second day- having had about 4 hours sleep, we went down for breakfast which was awful- this consisted of cornflakes, chocolate flake cereal, cucumber, tomato, ham, cheese and bread- to drink you could have water or blackcurrant squash- there was a man working there shouting "fresh orange juice" every 2 minutes- this would cost an extra 5 lira! After breakfast my son wanted to go in the hotel swimming pool- where after a short while he developed spots on his face- I didn't think too much of it until later in the evening when he had a rash over his lower half of his body- this resulted in me having to take my son to the hospital where I was told this was an allergy- this cost me 550 lira! It later emerged that in the evenings, the swimming pool is covered over in order to put more chairs and tables out for customers- therefore with the heat (it was 40 degrees when we were there!) this proved to be an ideal breeding ground for bacteria. We left on our second evening as I couldn't take anymore sleepless nights- we were offered an alternative room but the noise was still very much audible!
Also the men working there were very sleazy, asking if I had a boyfriend and asking intrusive questions like where my son's dad was etc. Also, as mentioned in other reviews, we were questioned where we were going every time we went out of the hotel- we couldn't avoid the staff as you had to walk through the bar to get into the hotel! The food was totally inedible- one evening we had 3 choices- soup, chicken stew or chicken bits with rice- no dessert- even though I paid for the half board option.
Basically go to this hotel if you don't want much sleep, lots of hassle and inedible, tastless and overcooked food- you have been warned!

Green Beach hotel was fantastic, we can’t wait to go back next year. We can’t stop talking about it how mad all the staff were and how the people make you feel. I just can’t put into words how fantastic everythig was.
The only thing we didn’t like was how long the flight was and there was no entertainment on the flight, there could at least have been a movie or some music but we still enjoyed it.
The beach was fantastic. I would advise anyone looking for a loud holiday then this is the place to go, but if you want to go to bed before 1.30am then I wouldn’t go on the sea front but dead at 1.30am all the music stops but the bars stop open.

I think green beach is absolutely brilliant. They are all so nice in there & help you with everything you need!! Their entertainment is the best I’ve seen yet. They are very clean in everything they do. We had only flicked ash into an ashtray and they were over cleaning it and giving us a new one!!!
I don’t know how anyone can say green beach is not clean or complain about it and the beach in front has nothing to do with green beach they didn’t ask for it there so when people complain about the beach it has nothing to do with the green beach!!!!!
Me & my friends went there for 2 weeks, they had lots of entertainment the cheeky boys doing there cheeky dance, belly dancers, Michael Jackson shows, the robot show just everything was brilliant and they got you your drinks as soon as you ordered it.
They were jems I love them all & hope to see them all next year cause they are brilliant!!
