We had just stayed 8 nights in the Mystic Dunes resort near Orlando which was terrible, so anything was going to be better.
But the Hilton was clean, staff friendly and was beautifully situated on the beach.
Breakfast was very good and reasonably priced though some of the waitresses need to be pensioned off.
Our little one loved the beach and the lovely pool, I enjoyed the jet-skis and the bar, although the bar did close very early (10.30pm). Try the Colony Club restaurant, it's fantastic, with magical views of the sunset.
Try Starfish seafood co. in Cortez for lunch, very rustic but excellent food at unbelievable prices!!
Others; Michaels on East (pricey) but good, Sarasota, Ophelia’s, Siesta Key.

This place is a dump! The beach is nice, and the pool is nice. They think they're a 4 star hotel. Puleaze!
It sucks, stay at the one of the local hotels nearby. It will cost less, and you'll have a better experience.
Oh yeah, the rooms are real plain, and bay view actually overlook the street out in front.
This hotel made me give up on Hilton hotels once and for all.
