Pier House & Caribbean Spa Hotel

Stayed at the Pier House June 28 to July 2. We booked the Garden Room on the first floor. It was very nice and clean. Beach was clean and the pool was wonderful. Pier House is close to every thing. Parked the truck and did not have to drive anywhere. Would stay at the Pier House again.

We thought we would treat ourselves to 1 night at a harbor view hotel. Very disapointing.The room did not have a view, was small and the air conditioner was not good. For the money, stay at the other up-scale hotels. On the positive side:The beach was nice and very clean, the view of the sunset is wonderfull, and you are right in the center of action. But, there are other hotels that fit the bill without the price.

My wife and I stayed at the Pier House in early May. The web site has simply gorgeous pictures of the rooms, pool and other amenities. The web designer deserves a bonus! We booked a harbor view room for two nights. Since those rooms are quite pricey, we booked a third night in a cheaper room. We thought we would spend most of the third day in the lovely pool shown on the web. The balcony of the harbor view room was very tiny. The room was very out dated. Not at all worth the price. We had a very nice stay. The room we stayed in was a HarbourView room which to me was well worth the extra money. The room was very clean and comfortable and the balcony was very spacious with room for a table and four chairs and two lounge chairs. The views were incredible and you had your own perfect spot to watch the sunset if you choose. The beach is on the smaller side but with limited beaches on KW it's hard to complain that you have this amenity at your hotel. I booked this trip over two months in advance and paid $200.00 per night for a tiny outdated room that was set up for a handicapped person. The balcony was on the street and was shared with two other rooms. We were straight across from a public bathroom. We didn't even have a king size bed. For the amount of money and the rating of this hotel, a room at a motel 6 wouldn't have been any better. My wife and I just came back from our first visit to Key West and loved the Pier House! Be prepared for EVERYTHING to be on the smallish size... resort, beach, pool... but that's just the way everything is in Key West.. and just enjoy what you get. The service was excellent at the Pier House as we experienced some delays in getting our room (Carribean Spa Room), but were accomodated nicely with free drinks at the bar and an upgrade to a Carribean Spa Suite. My husband and I were excited to visit Key West and stay in an Oceanfront room at the Pier House. My husband is from the Keys and had always heard great things about the resort. When we were escorted to our room, both of our faces fell. We had booked an expensive room and expected it to be at least nice (the pics on the website were deceiving). I have spent at least 5 vacations at the Pierhouse. The staff is usually friendly and tries to be helpful, but they defintely do not seem to know the local area. A funny story was how one concierge put a french accent on the name of a local Cuban restuarant I believe it's spelled LaSibona. My husband and I have stayed here during several trips to Key West, including for our wedding. And we will be back! It is a little high priced, but if you do some digging you can find some good deals. The best room we stayed in had a balcony next to the outdoor bar. We were able to sit on our own balcony and listen to some good music - very relaxing. The restaurants are excellent - the pool very refreshing. The beach a nice getaway, especially for key west. My husband returned to the Pier House over the Thanksgiving holiday. This was our 4th visit and we've always had a Harborview Room, including this trip. Because of a great deal we found on the Pier House website, I booked one of their "Harbor Lofts" as opposed to a one-bedroom suite (same price) which was what the reservationist recommended when I called.
