Ocean Key House Resort Hotel

My husband and I stayed at the Ocean Key November 6 - 11, 2004. A birthday present for me. This was our third visit. This is an excellent place to stay if you're in Key West. My stress level dropped 40 points as soon as I walked into the lobby. We stayed at a 2-bedroom suite at Ocean Key and loved the location! Being right by the water was great and in the evenings, it was nice to recline on the HUGE balcony while listening to Cory sing at the Sunset bar. Be warned that the sunset views are on the opposite side from these suites, but you can sit in the deserted pool area and have a great view during the sunsets instead. This is a great hotel in a great location. The staff were friendly both on arrival and when we left. Rooms are spacios and there is a fabulous jacuzi in the bathroom. Only problem is some of the rooms have limited views especially lower level floors that are blocked with trees outside. However, in keywest who wants to stay in their room when there is Duval street right outside the lobby door. Just got back last night from a three night stay at the Ocean Key--and we are already trying to figure out when we can get back. We picked the Ocean Key based on reviews and were certainly not disappointed! It exceeded our expectations--and I had to write in to recommend the Ocean Key to anyone considering travel to Key West. We were greeted by friendly, wonderful staff who were extremely helpful throughout our stay. Excellent resort. Service was fantastic, people always helpful. The only problem we had was we didn't get our room where requested. I was told by the hotel that the room would be overlooking the gulf and we could watch the sunset from our room. We also requested a room on the top floor. Our room overlooked Duval street and was on the third floor which was alittle noisy at times. Even with that, I would recommend this place to anyone.

We had a four night stay here on the 19th September 2004 and enjoyed it so much. The hotel is situated right at the very beginning of Duval Street and next to the beautiful Marina that has stunning bars and restaurants. The staff were extremely friendly, Don and Melissa from reception- but we have to particularly mention Charles from the pool area. That guy must walk about 10 miles per day serving everyone! Stayed in a two bedroom suite overlooking harbour and gulf. Room was lovely and spacious and it was very clean.We were on the third floor and had a fab view of the palm trees . Rooms to the right of us and on lower floors must have been very disappointed by their lack of view because of the palm trres. Insist on a room atleast on the third floor. billy bar was very popular and had lovely cocktails which we enjoyed every evening of our four night stay. This place was wonderful! We stayed 4 nights starting August 4. From the moment our cab pulled up to the entrance we were welcomed by a warm and friendly gentleman who took care of our luggage while we checked in. Our room was not ready yet as we arrived at 10:30 am so they succured our luggage for us. When our room was ready they notified us by my cell phone. One other person already stated it, avoid the rooms that are the extension of the larger suites. My room had nice furniture, and a hot tub. However, my so called view of Mallory Square was limited by trees and thick brush. In fact, my room was always dark. Smokers beware! No ashtrays in the room (hint hint)! Pool very nice, I was told clothing optional. Food at their outdoor pier was OK, nothing spectacular.

We travelled on a cheap 1 week teletext holiday to Orlando. My husband and I had never driven abroad before! We drove down to Key West after seeing the "Bay View Inn" - Conch Key on Sky TV. We stayed 1 night before we ventured onto Key West - a dream! As this was a cheap holiday we looked for a cheap Bed and Breakfast but unfortunately, or very fortunately for us we found the Ocean View Resort.
