Best beach in the world
My girlfriend and I stayed at the sands for a week from nov. 11-18. She had never been to the caribbean before but I have been to a few spots. We love to party, but we wanted a romantic vacation and I couldnt have asked for anymore than the Sands. First and foremost, the water and the sand in Provo is second to none in the entire world, and i truly believe that. We rented a scooter on our first day and were amazed at how safe we felt and how frienly everybody was on teh island. Our theory is that every "belonger" is either in the... more
In an event of emergency, absolutely horrible...
Our overall stay was okay until Hurricane Francis decided to come our way. A day or two prior to the hurricane, the Sands kicked everyone off the resort. I understand the resort was not built to take on hurricanes and it could be dangerous, however, they gave us the sense that they just did not want to be liable for anyone if anything happens. We tried booking a flight back early since we had no where to stay, but all the flights were booked. We told them the situation, however, the Sands did nothing for us, concentrating only on kicking... more
Wonderful Vacation
We arrived at The Sands at Grace Bay on Aug 25 and stayed for 4 nights. We stayed in the ocean view studio on the second floor. The room was very clean and furnished nicely. We did have a few ants in our room but nothing major. There was a small refrig, washer and dryer and TV that had a good reception and all the cable channels. The resort pools are very nice. There is one pool right on the ocean. But we enjoyed the two smaller pools that are surrounded by tall gardens that offer much privacy. We felt like we had our own pool.... more
Exceeded Expectations
We stayed here from 7/24-7/31. Here's my review BEACH White powdery sand and water that was clear and blue as a swimming pool. The Sands has the best stretch of beach along Grace Bay that we saw. Uncrowded. Though they filled up by early afternoon, we could always get an umbrella if we got there in the morning. Sharp contrast to the Beaches resort nearby, which we walked past several times on the way to snorkeling. Beaches was like a carnival, chairs packed all the way up to the water like a parking lot so you could barely enjoy... more
Wonderful restful trip
My wife and I just returned from a week at Paradise. We have nothing bad to say about the Sands or the islands. We have been to five other island destinations and this is now our favorite. Prices for food are higher than the states but that is normal for island trips. The water and sand are the best in the caribbean. All the resorts on the island with the exception of two are condo resorts. This makes for more family friendly resorts because of kitchens, washer & dryers, etc. Bring bug spray, (Like OFF) for open air... more
Just back
My wife and I just returned from the Sands at Grace Bay last Saturday and here are our thoughts. (I am not a condominium owner. I have traveled the Caribbean extensively because not only am I from Trinidad—reside in NYC, but my mother is a travel agent) THE PROPERTY Calling it a resort is inaccurate. It is a condominium run like a hotel. The grounds are beautiful, lush and very well maintained. Unlike many of the competing properties, this one has no structure over three stories, which is great. A good deal of though was put... more
Terrific Resort
Spent a week at the Sands - 11-18 July. Overall, the Sands rates a B. The resort is very well maintained, with a cordial and helpful staff (though not overly so). The room was very nice. The only thing that didn't work was the television (terrible reception) - but to give the Sands credit, I never told them to fix it. I was traveling with two teenagers and didn't want them to sit in front of the TV all day. The diving/snorkling was fantastic! The beach was as well. Both kayaks were broken and unable to be used - in a week nothing... more
Wonderful Vacation @ The Sands at Grace Bay
We arrived in Provo for the first time on Friday, July 2, 2004. We picked up a car at the airport and kept going in circles (even with directions) trying to find the Sands at Grace Bay. Finally, we stopped to ask a local and he pointed us in the right direction. The roads are terrible and very few roads have street names or signs. Anyway, we found the Sands at Grace Bay and were taken to our room which was booked through Sky Auction. It was a 1 bedroom Garden View room with a queen bed and no balcony. We left our luggage in the... more
Can't wait to return !
Where do I start? First, let me say that that the resort is even more beautiful than the brochures and enternet sights portray. Like everyone who seeks the perfect beach vacation, I spent many late nights searching the web for that special resort that has something for everyone. Beautiful white sand, crystal clear neon turquoise calm waters, great snorkeling , fishing , shelling , great food, and a tropical setting for amazing sunsets and romance. You will find all of this and more at the Sands! In reading past reviews about pricey... more
Just What the Doctor Ordered
My husband and I just got back from a wonderfully relaxing vacation. We stayed in a one-BR suite, ocean view, and it had all the amenities we needed, such as washer/dryer, coffee pot, mini fridge, microwave, and a screened-in porch with a terrific view of the ocean. This was our first trip to T&C and it won't be the last. The people on the island were so friendly, and we never had to worry about crime - very safe (unlike Barbados). The restaurant, Hemingway's, was really good - we ate there almost every day and the service and food... more
