Hotel Golden Port Salou

My family have just arrived back from the port Salou and what a fantastic time we had. Hotel is great, very clean and very safe for kids, the pools are also kept clean and tidy and the indoor pool came in very handy for my 7 year old who found the outdoor one a little to cold!
I have just read other peoples reviews and could not believe how the food was slated, either the hotel has improved in 2006 or these people are the sort who just like a good moan about everything, we found it fantastic, the waiters were constantly clearing tables, the food was always hot and I have never seen a variety like it, there was everything you could possibly think of and I am now on a diet!
The entertainment staff David and Isabel from the hotel were great with my children aged 3 and 8, they had poolside games everyday which went on all day they were never bored so if they were happy then so was I!
The entertainment in the evening most nights was to a very good standard with some very talented artists and of course the kids loved the mini disco which went on for an hour.
Salou is great if you have kids and you must visit port adventurer its worth every penny, this is our second visit and I will definitely be going back next year.
So finally all these sad negative people that slated the place just ignore all their comments it’s a great place!

Lovely Hotel this is our 3 time here. Really friendly staff. I have 2 young children under 3 and they accommodated us brilliantly with making up bottles for the 5 month old and heating them. Microwave available in restaurant to sterilise.
Food has always been great all the times we have stayed. Rooms clean and all public areas kept very clean. Lovely pool full time life guard. Beach great.
Fantastic location 4-5 min walk into town. Would highly recommend and will be returning again for our 4th time.

The food was the worst food I have ever had. I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. The meats were still pink and when I asked the chef he said they couldn’t cook it any longer because it would hold them up with other food. The staff were friendly and helpful. The night life was good.
We were there for two weeks and after the first week we didn’t want to eat at the hotel any more so we found a little English pub called Jacks it save our hotel. The beaches were so beautiful and clean. If you go to the Golden port Salou Hotel DONT eat there.

As part of a school excursion we stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, what a nightmare, the food was absolutely appalling cold and disgusting and tasteless. Returned after a day out to find 30 of our rooms had been ransacked cameras, phones, money and medication had been stolen. Nobody knows who how why where, management very unsympathetic, and unable to say how they had access to rooms and safes in rooms. I will never ever go there again and I will make it my business to publicise this kip for what it really is , avoid at all costs you’d be better off sleeping on the beach

In Jun 1999 I holidayed here and thought it was fab.
I was on a girlie holiday and I was kept entertained all day. We went to Andorra, which was great , but I must have to say the coach journey was tiring and very very long. I would take plenty of water with you.

I went on a bar crawl with Thomson’s aswell which was alot of fun, as you got to meet other hotel guests, which we spent time with at dinner and in the evenings.
I thought that the pool was wicked. I did not go to the beach much because it was a little to far to go to and after spending a day in the sun all you want to do is laze around. besides we had the pool.
That’s why I’m now taking my boyfriend there this year. The holiday will be so different form the one in 1999 but I can’t wait to go. I’m sure it will be lots of fun.
