Jun 2005, Mrs A Battersby

We took our grandchildren aged 14 and 17 to Festival apartments. In Salou for 1 week. We had a 2bed appt which was very clean, beds were comfy towels changed every other day. On arrival deposit was paid for breakages etc. No toaster in appt. But found out later on in week we could hire on! We did have a microwave and requested pans.
The pool was always full. People would get over the railing 9.30 and put their towels on sunbeds for when it opened at 10. We didn’t go to pool, as it was always busy. But the children used the pool at 5.00 when it went a lot quieter. Lots of entertainment, staff lovely and helpful. Beaches close by. Buses stop right outside hotel to go either way (Salou or La Pineda or Port Aventura even late service for firework displays) we did them all. Also taxis were ok and not too expensive. Brilliant place for families. We all enjoyed.

When we first arrived into Reus...

Jun 2005, Mr S Garha

When we first arrived into Reus airport the transfers did take a long time, well over an hour to drop us off to our apartment.
On arriving, we were located our apartment and were pleased with the rooms and especially the bathroom (the bathroom needs to be clean!!!)
the utensils however were holding on at least 500gms of fat on them as well as the pots and pans, they were DIRTY, really bad, so if your a clean person id advice sum really strong detergents, I decided to buy a pan for myself, doest cost much about 8euros.
we weren’t told we could borrow toasters, kettles, and irons for our week we were there, I was disappointed to learn we could once I had realised.
The bar staff was wicked, they were sooo friendly, I didn’t catch any names but every one of them were very friendly.
The entertainment was ok, as it was very different everyday, but yes I guess it was worth sitting down and watching it
As for the pool, I didn’t ever see it in daylight. The hotel manger told us that sun beds will never be allowed to be reserved by any holiday makers, but hey no body was there to stop anyone. towels were scattered around everywhere not giving anyone a chance to use sunbeds.
The pool was also really full and occasionally there were some teenagers who were acting like brats and the life guard couldn’t control them.
I witnessed bullying in the pool within children but nothing was done when complained to the life guard, if you are considering taking children, just be extra vigilant for any trouble that other children may cause.
overall a nice resort, might go back though I’d rather try a different resort next time around. IN.

May 2005, Mrs V A M Shone

I really enjoyed this holiday. We had been told before that it was a bit like Blackpool on speed but we found that this was not the case.
We stayed in the Festival Village Hotel, which we could not fault. The accommodation was very clean and quite modern. They provided entertainment throughout the day and evening, which was very good. I suppose the only down side was the bar closed at Midnight but this was also good if you wanted a quiet evening.
If you do go self catering like ourselves there is a lovely Bar / Restaurant next door to Festival Village called Treasure Island. The meals are delicious and very reasonably priced and the staff are very polite and nice and during the main summer period the same entertainment company that the hotel uses also provide entertainment in the bar.
The bus service was very cheap and easy to use and there was a bus stop directly outside the hotel which had buses for Port Aventura theme park, Tarragonna, Barcelona as well as all round the different areas of Salou.
Salou itself was very nice, there were the usual tacky shops but there are also some very nice parts and a nice Marina. The beaches are lovely and I have never been somewhere that was so clean and the town have spent a lot of money doing it up and making it nice.
There are some lovely beaches and if you go towards Cap Salou and La Pineada there are some lovely secluded coves. We spent quite a lot of time on one of these smaller beaches where there are still activities like pedaloes.
There are many restaurants and these are on the whole very reasonable with a wide variety of choice.

Just returned from a weeks All Inclusive at the Festival Village.
All I can say is that apart from 2 days when our room was not serviced, we had a brilliant time. Every member of staff worked their socks off to make our stay a pleasant one.
Food, Entertainment etc were very good, bar staff were very good, and all in all, I would recommend this Hotel to anyone.

A brilliant place for a holiday.
The two bed apartment was very large and the balcony was a good size too.
The apartment was very clean on our arrival and the maid service helped to keep it that way. Clean towels about every three days.
The food in the restaurant was quite reasonably priced (10euros for adult evening meal) and the kids enjoyed the fact that it was ‘eat as much as you like’
All staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful especially the hotel manager, Eva.
The area was nice and quiet in the evenings but Salou was very close if you do want a bit more life. There is a bus stop and a stop for the land train right outside the front entrance.
The pool was not overly large for the number of people staying there but was always quiet when we wanted to swim in the early evenings. The usual sunbed hoggers unfortunately and despite signs up saying that towels would be removed, they did not appear to be! The pool was cleaned every day as was the inside of the main complex.
All in all I would thoroughly recommend it as a good location for a family holiday. Well worth taking the trips to Barcelona and Montserrat too. We booked a car and there was parking on site.

Jun 2004, Mrs DL McMahon

We stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment and were thrilled with it. It was very spacious and very clean (our towels were changed every other day). We had a decent sized terrace with garden furniture in it.
The kiddies club was good and the entertainment was either brilliant or terrible!! (but it does cater for all tastes!!) For us, the apartments were situated in a brilliant place - Cap Salou is pretty quiet, but you can walk into Salou (approx 45 minutes) or take a taxi or the bus (approx. 7 euros). The bus service is very efficient, coming every 5 minutes or so. We, as a family did not have any complaints and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!!
