I stayed in the Lanzaplaya apartments with my husband and 4 year old son. The hotel didn't meet our expectations at all. There were cockroaches (big bugs) in our apartment and even though the cleaner tried to poison them, we still had them.
Our agency had marketed the hotel as 4-star place, but I would give it only 1 or 2-stars. There was no view from our room or terrace, the room was facing the back of the next apartment. The kitchen was poorly equipped and didn't even have wine classes. On the terrace there were only 2 chairs and a table. The chairs/sun beds by the pools were all reserved early in the morning and the pool area was very small.
We tried the restaurant only once and ate lunch which was very poor (pasta and tomato sauce and vegetables) and the restaurant was very hot. You had to pay extra for the safe some 14 euros. The hotel was pretty clean, but the cleaners didn't make beds or wash dishes. The hotel was close to the beach boulevard and beach, but still very peaceful and quiet during the nights.
The weather was absolutely great, but other than that we had a poor holiday. We wouldn't recommend this hotel to any one unless you are interested in roaches/bugs.

Because these apartments were only built in 2004, no reviews could be found on Lanzaplaya, but we liked the look of it and decided to risk it.
It truly was a delight to stay in this resort, the place was spotless and very well presented, and the friendly staff made it all the more comfortable as well. The apartment itself was a large size, with sofa, TV, kitchen and breakfast table, as well as a separate bedroom and balcony. We did not eat at the resort as we were self catering, although the food always looked inviting.
The resort is perfectly located, situated right behind the main strip of bars and restaurants and beach, although the two minute walk ensures that noise cannot be heard from the strip in the apartments.
It is more suitable for young couples or families, and I would strongly advise anyone visiting Lanzarote to keep this resort in mind.

My wife, granddaughter and I stayed in Lanzaplaya for a week in May 2006. It is situated in a quiet street back from the beach in the centre of Puerto del Carmen with parking in the one-way street outside.
The apartments are very new and either face West or South so they catch most of the sun. There are 3 pools, two climate controlled (one for the kiddies). Spare sun beds always available. There is also a small children’s playground which our grandchild loved.
All meals are available, if required, or there are three mini markets close by.
The apartments are very good, clean and fully equipped with TV and usual kitchen equipment, nice breakfast bar between the kitchen and lounge. Metal gauze covers the bedroom window to prevent insects or intruders at night.
The entrance doors are automatic with a beautiful fountain inside. The reception area is to one side with very helpful and pleasant staff.
To summarise, very clean, lovely setting and close to all amenities.
We will be going again.
