Fun in the sun

I thought villa tagoro was excellent, The staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome. Our room was clean and very pretty and we had a great view of the pool and it looked stunning at night. The best bit of all is the restaurant as the food was amazing it had plenty of choices and the chef was very nice as he allways made sure i had extra helpings. The entertainment was good only bad thing is that it was the same every night otherwise i loved my time and would defo come back again for some sun, fun and the best cocktails ever.

Our Holiday
7 / 10
Oct 2008, gambler

When we just arrived at villa tagoro we were wellcomed by very friendly staff and even the security guard helped us find our room. One week was enough though as entertainment is very repetative as it does not keep the younger kids entetained for long.
However the surrounding scenery is beautiful and equally so is the villa, the food was okay could have done with more selection though. The freindly staff make your stay good as you are made to feel very wellcome and they are allways willing to help giving direction's and advising good places to go.
Other good points are close to shops and a free bus going to the beach.
We will maybe go back one day but not anytime soon.

Dont normally do this kind of thing,...

May 2008, Mrs H.J Spink

Dont normally do this kind of thing, but after reading very bad reviews of my forthcoming holiday, I decided to read these reviews and now I feel so much better. I am not quite sure what people expect from their holidays especially when you compare it with the price you would pay in this country, and as mentioned before it must be a brit thing. We stayed at Villa Tagoro with our 2 teenage children for 2 weeks in August and we have no complaints at all. Food very good, so called apartment dungeon, yes they are basement type level but we had a large patio and garden, we did have a carpark at the back of us but the wall was high enough when sunbathing not to be bothered by it. Lovely peaceful complex, nice pool, which was cleaned daily, staff very friendly and helpful, entertainment same as any where else we have stayed, some nights good others not great. It is elevated and the walk back up from town isnt easy, but all this information is in the brochure details and people should read it first and check things out beforehand and dont bother to read reviews because we all have different opinions. We would definately go back to Villa Tagoro again. My advise to everyone, is to make the most of it and if there is anything you are not happy with, speak to the hotel management first then if you have no luck speak to your rep, you can also contact your holdiay company back in england from your accomodation as I have done in the past and it will be sorted.

My family and i have just returned...

Mar 2008, Mrs J Wilson

My family and i have just returned from a holiday in tenerife were we stayed at the Villa Tagora, it is supposed to be a 4* but i would not give it a 2* the pool and bar area was dirty and in need of a good lick of paint, the rooms also need a good painting and the furniture needs throwing out. We had a horrible green settee that was full of stains, the springs in the bed were sticking through the matress and it was very uncomfortable, we upgraded for a superiour room so i would hate to see the standard one, everything is falling apart or broken, our television did not work nor did the jacussi bath.
The food was bland, repetitive and cold the house wine was disgusting and the indoor bar was that dirty your feet stuck to the floor, they state they serve snacks until 11pm but in fact from 5pm the only thing available is popcorn in plastic cups, the whole holiday was ruened by this dirty hotel and i would not recommend it to anyone.

Johanne & Irvin,
We were a bit apprehensive after reading reviews.
On arrival reception staff very helpful, we had a one bedroom apartment, spacious & very clean on the ground level. Our only complaint with the room was that we did not get any sun on our balcony & looked onto a building site.
It was our first time all inclusive & will certainly go back to Villa Tagoro, though ask for room with better veiw.
Buses near by, ask reception & taxi there in seconds.
Eating out at night excellent & very reasonable dearest we paid was about £30 for 2 inc drinks
A visit to La Gomera well worth it. we made our own way there by ferry.
Staff lovely, food good especially breakfast & lunch& it's fantastic going to the bar with no money.
See you Jan 2009

Like the others, I was apprehensive...

Mar 2008, Mrs P Doody

Like the others, I was apprehensive about the hotel after reading the other reviews! Being pregnant, restricted to March, with a 3 year old and wanting some sunshine, the Canaries were really our only option. I have mixed feelings about the hotel. I'm not the biggest fan of the Canaries and have to say that my choice of hotel was largely made based on price, because I cannot believe how much money you have to pay to go to Tenerife! In hindsight I wished I'd paid a bit more and gone somewhere else.... Whilst the hotel was certainly clean, the pool was great, it is great for families and the food was nice, I'm afraid I wouldn't go back there or recommend it to any of my friends. The rooms were basic and the beds were not very comfy. For my husband and I and our son we had a twin room and a single sofa / bed which wasn't ideal. The food was nice and quite varied but it got very boring eating in the same restaurant 3 times a day, I'm glad we only went for a week. I wouldn't say that the hotel is a 4 star, I agree with some of the others that it's only really worthy of a 3 star rating. The indoor bar was in need of some updating, and reminded me of a dodgy UK caravan park type of place, and the entertainment was very Butlins.....ranging from Bingo to a snake charmer.... The outdoor bar area consisted of plastic chairs and tables and just felt a bit tacky. The hotel is situated very close to a motorway and is in a busy area, so walking anywhere involves crossing very busy roads. You can walk to the beach but it's probably about 15 - 20 minutes and uphill all the way back! Our room had a sea view but overlooked a big car park for the shopping centre / cinema next door. We did experience one of the dungeon rooms on the last day as we asked to extend our room as we had a late flight. I'm sure these are only used in the summer if the hotel is fully booked but it was awful....... It's on the lower level so all the windows are bricked up to the outside, and the view from the balcony was to the back of the hotel where all the rubble and rubbish is dumped. Overall we did have a nice time as the weather was fantastic and we just wanted to chill, so sorry if this offends anyone but I was disappointed in my choice..... I heard quite a few people there that had obviously been there before, pointing out which rooms they had been in before, so some people clearly love it, but sorry it just wasn't my bag.

Feb 2008, Mr K R P Brass

read reviews ,was a bit apprehensive however need not have worried .Although the hotel is not ideally situated ie about 15 mins walk into town and 25 mins back up very steep route .Courtesy bus runs on the hour but. the last one returns at 6 pm.so if you want to hit the bars at night you walk or taxi about 5 euros .rooms, pool sun beds a bit dated.
Despite all the aforegoing the holiday was 1st class due to the friendliness of the staff ,the superb selection of food .The choice of the all inclusive drinks was most extensive and of good quality.the cleaning staff were very good
To summerise.............The hotel is not of the best standard that we have stayed in ,but it is one of the hotels that we would consider returning to

After reading mixed reviews of Villa...

Feb 2008, Mrs S D

After reading mixed reviews of Villa Tagoro I can only say that my husband and I were very suprised. The room which was on the 2nd level was really spacious and very clean. We were provided all the usual bits like kettle, toaster but also lots of linen and hairdryer.
The complex itself is very pretty, nice building as it is only three stories high. Great pool area and nice gardens. We visited the onsite hair salon which was also very good and well priced.
Villa Tagoro is in a nice location too, just a ten min walk into the main town but only seconds from a brand new complex with lots of lovely bars and resturants and a new supermarket.
This accomodation would suit families and couples alike. We have no moans whatsoever and for the price it is very very good.
We booked via holiday lettings which was very simple!

Almost changed our hotel after...
9 / 10
Jan 2008, Miss L Dallimore

Almost changed our hotel after reading all the reviews! Glad we didnt!
We were a party of 7. Four adults, three children 11, 4, 2. We were only there for a week but we wished we'd booked 2! The food was really good - plenty of choice. Yes, they did serve almost the same thing everyday but because of the huge selection there was no reason to eat the same thing everyday. So the comments of those about the lack of choice should have opened their eyes a bit more. The snacks from 11, I have to say were not great! Warmed up from the day before's! But why bother with snacks at 11 when you drink cocktails by the pool and wait for lunch to be served? The kids couldnt wait for icecream in the afternoon.
Our rooms were spotless! Had a lovely view of the sea and the balcony was ideal for the little ones to play out. I was (more than slightly) worried about the lack of locks on the inside of the door tho' as my 2 year old kept trying to wonder outside!
The kids entertainers were great. They really try to include all the children, encouraging them to join in. My two little ones are really shy but towards the end of the week they were like they are at home! My 2 year old even came home saying his name (something he hadn't done before now) because they'd been calling his name all week. The rest of the staff are very friendly and polite and soon remember you and how many barcardi's you want!
The location is not too bad. A slightly steep walk of around 10 minutes to the beach and the shops although I would recommend having a taxi back which only cost around 3-4 euros. The beach is nice and the shops are plentiful, just watch out for the looky looky men!
10 minutes away is aqualand, which is a little on the pricey side. My partner and daughter went and spent over 70 euros, but worth it if only to see the dolphins. kids can even take a swim with them for 60 euros however you wont be in with them for long, but definitely an experience.
We all had a fabulous time - overall the holiday was fantastic. At the end of the day a holiday is what you make of it. You can moan about the food being rubbish and the entertainment boring but this isnt the Hilton and you havent paid a grand a night. It's just a REALLY REALLY GOOD 4 star aparthotel.
**Just watch out for the pool! Dont dive in head first, unless of course you're cold blooded or dont mind suffering heart failure. VERY, VERY COLD !!!**

Hello, we visited villa tagoro apart...
7 / 10
Jan 2008, Mrs K Tomney

Hello, we visited villa tagoro apart hotel from the 23rd of December till the 30th. The weather wasn't very hot as the hotel is on a shady hillside. This hotel is not suitable for people with disabilities as it has a lot of uphill paths and an abundance of stairs.
However when you get out of the hotel and visit the resort, you feel the difference in the temperatures, as you are out of the shade and it's much warmer.
The hotel and pool are kept spotlessly clean with an army of cleaners, busy morning and evening. Lots of clean bed linen. Only one scanty pillow each in our dungeon room though. Furniture shabby but functional. Balcony lovley with a small clothes drying area and garden furniture. Hotel has laundry facilities when working. Dryer out of order when we were there.
The foods not to everyones taste (Brits abroad I suppose). My daughter complained about eggs scrambled with no milk. Sausages spicy. But they do a full English or continental breakfast. Lots of yoghurt, breads, toast, jam and marmalade.
Kids buffet etc., The meats are dry fried in front of you, and there is often a que. But there are alot of fish meals, pasta and always chips if you are an addict.
I didn't appreciate the racist comments from a previous review regarding Scottish people at the hotel. I'm Scottish, and I neither swear nor take alcohaulic drinks. I did not see any of this kind of behaviour in the restraunt. However we had an English family above us who came home very drunk every night, and one night had a nasty brawl. Thomas Cook rep made sure it didn't happen again. No matter what nationality people are, sometimes the all inclusive boozers go a but daft, with the free drink. Didn't mind them getting drunk and having a good time, but not brawling and terrrifying the kids.
There are lots of free juices or alcohaulic beverages free throughout the day and the icecream is excellent. Lots of flavours!! Didn't sample the entertainment cause we are tee total. So can't comment.
The staff are very friendly. If its a cheap holiday with value for money you are looking for, this is the one. YOu could stay at the hotel and not bother going out if it's hot enough. I would say though, we went at Christmas and the pool water was so cold, my little boys lips went blue. It wasn't heated then, so beware. We are going back again in July.
