Submitted By: Mrs J WilsonThe food was bland, repetitive and cold the house wine was disgusting and the indoor bar was that dirty your feet stuck to the floor, they state they serve snacks until 11pm but in fact from 5pm the only thing available is popcorn in plastic cups, the whole holiday was ruened by this dirty hotel and i would not recommend it to anyone.

We were a bit apprehensive after reading reviews.
On arrival reception staff very helpful, we had a one bedroom apartment, spacious & very clean on the ground level. Our only complaint with the room was that we did not get any sun on our balcony & looked onto a building site.
It was our first time all inclusive & will certainly go back to Villa Tagoro, though ask for room with better veiw.
Buses near by, ask reception & taxi there in seconds.
Eating out at night excellent & very reasonable dearest we paid was about £30 for 2 inc drinks
A visit to La Gomera well worth it. we made our own way there by ferry.
Staff lovely, food good especially breakfast & lunch& it's fantastic going to the bar with no money.
See you Jan 2009

To summerise.............The hotel is not of the best standard that we have stayed in ,but it is one of the hotels that we would consider returning to

Submitted By: Mrs S DThe complex itself is very pretty, nice building as it is only three stories high. Great pool area and nice gardens. We visited the onsite hair salon which was also very good and well priced.
Villa Tagoro is in a nice location too, just a ten min walk into the main town but only seconds from a brand new complex with lots of lovely bars and resturants and a new supermarket.
This accomodation would suit families and couples alike. We have no moans whatsoever and for the price it is very very good.
We booked via holiday lettings which was very simple!

Submitted By: Miss L DallimoreWe were a party of 7. Four adults, three children 11, 4, 2. We were only there for a week but we wished we'd booked 2! The food was really good - plenty of choice. Yes, they did serve almost the same thing everyday but because of the huge selection there was no reason to eat the same thing everyday. So the comments of those about the lack of choice should have opened their eyes a bit more. The snacks from 11, I have to say were not great! Warmed up from the day before's! But why bother with snacks at 11 when you drink cocktails by the pool and wait for lunch to be served? The kids couldnt wait for icecream in the afternoon.
Our rooms were spotless! Had a lovely view of the sea and the balcony was ideal for the little ones to play out. I was (more than slightly) worried about the lack of locks on the inside of the door tho' as my 2 year old kept trying to wonder outside!
The kids entertainers were great. They really try to include all the children, encouraging them to join in. My two little ones are really shy but towards the end of the week they were like they are at home! My 2 year old even came home saying his name (something he hadn't done before now) because they'd been calling his name all week. The rest of the staff are very friendly and polite and soon remember you and how many barcardi's you want!
The location is not too bad. A slightly steep walk of around 10 minutes to the beach and the shops although I would recommend having a taxi back which only cost around 3-4 euros. The beach is nice and the shops are plentiful, just watch out for the looky looky men!
10 minutes away is aqualand, which is a little on the pricey side. My partner and daughter went and spent over 70 euros, but worth it if only to see the dolphins. kids can even take a swim with them for 60 euros however you wont be in with them for long, but definitely an experience.
We all had a fabulous time - overall the holiday was fantastic. At the end of the day a holiday is what you make of it. You can moan about the food being rubbish and the entertainment boring but this isnt the Hilton and you havent paid a grand a night. It's just a REALLY REALLY GOOD 4 star aparthotel.
**Just watch out for the pool! Dont dive in head first, unless of course you're cold blooded or dont mind suffering heart failure. VERY, VERY COLD !!!**

Submitted By: Mrs K TomneyHowever when you get out of the hotel and visit the resort, you feel the difference in the temperatures, as you are out of the shade and it's much warmer.
The hotel and pool are kept spotlessly clean with an army of cleaners, busy morning and evening. Lots of clean bed linen. Only one scanty pillow each in our dungeon room though. Furniture shabby but functional. Balcony lovley with a small clothes drying area and garden furniture. Hotel has laundry facilities when working. Dryer out of order when we were there.
The foods not to everyones taste (Brits abroad I suppose). My daughter complained about eggs scrambled with no milk. Sausages spicy. But they do a full English or continental breakfast. Lots of yoghurt, breads, toast, jam and marmalade.
Kids buffet etc., The meats are dry fried in front of you, and there is often a que. But there are alot of fish meals, pasta and always chips if you are an addict.
I didn't appreciate the racist comments from a previous review regarding Scottish people at the hotel. I'm Scottish, and I neither swear nor take alcohaulic drinks. I did not see any of this kind of behaviour in the restraunt. However we had an English family above us who came home very drunk every night, and one night had a nasty brawl. Thomas Cook rep made sure it didn't happen again. No matter what nationality people are, sometimes the all inclusive boozers go a but daft, with the free drink. Didn't mind them getting drunk and having a good time, but not brawling and terrrifying the kids.
There are lots of free juices or alcohaulic beverages free throughout the day and the icecream is excellent. Lots of flavours!! Didn't sample the entertainment cause we are tee total. So can't comment.
The staff are very friendly. If its a cheap holiday with value for money you are looking for, this is the one. YOu could stay at the hotel and not bother going out if it's hot enough. I would say though, we went at Christmas and the pool water was so cold, my little boys lips went blue. It wasn't heated then, so beware. We are going back again in July.

Submitted By: Mr T SmithThe reception staff are brilliant and very helpful, the rooms are immaculately clean and spacious, and the food is what you'd expect for the price you pay for this Apart Hotel.
Breakfasts are by far the best meal of the day as you can get a full english or continental breakfast.
Lunch and dinner is plentiful and there is a good selection but to be perfectly honest it gets a bit repetitive. This wasn't a problem for us as we like to eat out and we budgeted for nice meals out a lot. In future I'll just do B&B, but for a family on a budget the hotel is acceptable for the price.
When we were at the hotel the only moaners were a large group of slobs in the mould of Wayne and Waynetta who resembled what you'd expect from Gorbels area of Glasgow. You know the sort. An example of them being how Waynetta couldn't resist mouthing off how "the food is F**king disgusting" for those in the vicinity to hear her highly intelligent views on meals. No doubt the slob clan were connoisseurs on deep fried pizza and battered mars bars.
I can only assume the moaners on here are equally as uncouth, or as Americans would describe them - trailer park trash.
The location of the hotel is brilliant. About 100 yards down the hill (which is not steep) is Las Americas newest shopping centre with quality shops and restaurants. Shop here and eat here and you won't go wrong as there are none of the conning camera shop owners etc. All these quality shops display prices on their goods! Anyone who's been to Americas will appreciate this and will avoid the "camera shops" owned by asians as they are out to con you and are all owned by the same people...
With the hotel being on the other side of the motorway (there's no noise or any problem connected) it's an ideal place to stay if you want to hire a car - like we did. Parking is no problem at all. If you just want a pool/beach holiday then that's great too as there's a free bus which is punctual and reliable and if you do need at taxi it's only about 6 euros to Playa and 10 euros to Los Cristianos. Why choose a high rise hotel in Playa with the riff raff when you stay in a smart area and not be impeded by the location?
So in summary the hotel is not the Ritz, but it's clean and it's reasonably priced and fantastic for families. Airtours have downgraded it to 3 star which is great as it means we can all go again cheaper so the Scottish slobs and their ilk have done one good thing with their moaning. I just hope they don't return and revert back to hotels in the centre of Las Americas with the rest of the great unwashed.
Best not mention the entertainment though as it really is cringe worthy for anyone with a mental age over 5. I guess the clan thoroughly enjoyed that though.

Submitted By: Mrs M WrideInformation sheets said towels will be removed from sun loungers if not in use, but this did not happen and many beds were booked by some before they had had breakfast. The breakfast bar in our room was covered in stick on fabric, making it look old and scruffy. We certainly would not return.

Submitted By: Mr P SmithThe rooms were massive and cleaned every day. The pool bar and the pub were brill and staff very friendly and polite. The entertainment team were amazing and couldn’t do enough for the kids (and adults too), and after only 2 days knew both my kids names off by heart, which impressed my youngest.
The food was fine and varied could do with more choice at the kids buffet though. Would recommend this hotel to any family as we are returning again next year, but for a fortnight instead of a week, we liked it that much.

Submitted By: Mr A RuskinOur apartment was quiet and had a sea view which was great, there were a few cobwebs under the furniture but nothing to get upset about.
The restaurant staff were friendly and very efficient and the food was varied and always hot and of a good quality. The free drinks were fine, San Miguel for the beer drinkers and Coke machines for the kids and in the evening at the main bar you even got your beer in a pint pot and yes you could have as much as you wanted (At the small pool the drinks were all self service, how could you go wrong!).
The cleaning staff were excellent the room was serviced every day and the pool areas were cleaned by a small army of cleaning staff every morning.
As for the entertainment, yes they mimed to tracks but so do the Spice Girls and most other groups you see on the telly and they get paid a fortune! Take the entertainment for what it is, a hard working group of young people there to keep the kids happy which they seemed to do.
Yes we have booked to go back next year and if it is as good as this year we won't be complaining.

Submitted By: Mr J ColemanGood Points:
Booze was not watered down and they were v.friendly with the portions.
Very Clean.
Food that was there was nice, fresh and generally plenty of.
Free Bus was pretty reliable and handy.
Bad Points:
Its 70's/80's and could do with an overhaul.
Entertainment team were really poor, they were trying their best but they had no budget and old disco equipment etc and it was dire. For the under 5's fine but adults go elsewhere. They had a snake man in one night and some Brazilian acrobatics hired in and they were both really good but the rest of the week, go elsewhere!
Location is miles away from any nightlife/shops and you have to cross a motorway to get there.
Not enough sunbeds for the number of visitors and the hotel is crammed into a small space.
Broken air con in the restaurant bit sweaty midday, and the food was very samey. I’ll eat anything and there was chips and pizza and bits for the kids but I don’t think I could of gone two weeks.
There was talk of "Dungeon Rooms" and I was a bit wary of that and I’m not sure if we got one. The room was dark and had wooden slat windows that opened about an inch. The rooms were long and the sun came from the patio at the other end. If these were the dungeon rooms there not that bad as I was generally impressed with the room.
What I was NOT impressed with was the broken air con and the pool of water you had to jump to get into the room. The toilet was also broken. They did fix these things the next day but they are BASIC things that should have been put right before we were put in the room.
I’ve been to about 20 3* 4* resorts across the globe and this was not a great one. If you’re going to Tenerife I would recommend the RIU resort down the road, both the RIU hotels I have been to have been fantastic!
