Astali Hotel Reviews
" This was a very good family run... "
Submitted By: Ms C A Harding
This was a very good family run hotel, more suited to couples or singles without children, also better for people who like to eat out at local restaurants, as no evening meal provided.
The rooms were clean and adequate and the addition of air conditioning was very much appreciated. The resort was very good with the beach only a two minute walk from the hotel and plenty of shops and restaurants without being noisy or overcrowded.
Rethymnon has a harbour and sandy beach and lots of Venetian buildings with plenty of history.
It is possible to travel to local areas of interest and other beaches by bus or boat trips from the harbour are readily accessible and reasonably priced. The only down side for some people would be the lack of a swimming pool, but with the beach so accessible it is not too much of a problem.
Overall, a good holiday resort with plenty to do and see.

The rooms are clean and adequate and the air conditioning is a necessary and very welcome as even in September Crete enjoys temperatures of 30 and above.
The owners are friendly and helpful. The hotel only provides breakfast but it is served from 7.30 through to 10.30. The resort has many restaurants, all reasonably priced and plenty of variety.
Rethymnon is a Venetian town with a busy harbour and there is much of interest to enjoy. It is very easy to explore the surrounding areas by bus or there are lots of trips to be taken by boat from the harbour.
The only down side to the hotel is there is no pool, but with the beach so close this doesn’t need to be a problem. There is little nightlife but as all the restaurants and shops stay open until late, this is not a problem unless you want to go clubbing.
All in all a very enjoyable holiday with good transfers to and from the airport of Heraklion.
