My friends and I have just arrived home from Cye Apartments in Salou on 15/08/08. We arrived on 08/08/08 at 9.30am and were told that our apartment would not be ready for 2-3 hours. Bearing in mind we had not gone to bed the night before we were very disappointed to hear this, we got the keys of the apartment at 1.30pm. Apartment was clean when we got there, although we did not get clean towels for the first 3 days we ended up leaving them to the drycleaners around the corner on the 2nd day. We got more clean towels on the 5th day of our stay. The sheets on our bed did not get changed the whole week, cleaners did little cleaning during our stay. My friend and I got stuck in the lift on our 2nd day and the lady at reception had to prize the doors of the lift open and we had to jump 6 foot on to the ground to safety. Another 2 friends that were travelling with us got stuck in the lift another day, this happens on a regular basis because they would often be out of order when we'd go to use them. My friends and I hired a Safety Deposit box for 1 week this cost us 22 euro's & 10 euro's deposit. To hire a kettle and toaster it was also 10 euro's each for 1 week. Apartments were ok if you wanted a low budget holiday, I certainly will not be returning to stay there again. I found Salou overall expensive and not the best place I've been! I would not recommend Salou for a holiday.

We have not long since come back from a 1 week stay at the Cye. The hotel itself is fine beware of the 60 euro deposit for your room and the fact that you cannot get into your room until 5pm. We arrived there at 9.30am and could not get into our room until 5.00pm I have two small children who had been travelling through the night. The staff are ok Entertainer is fab really tries with the kids. There seems to be no rules at this hotel as people did whatever they wanted. It is a bit noisy at night but we slept fine. We had pool view which was great the balconies are huge. The only other problem was the sleeping arrangements 4th bed is a pull down behind the front door (not ideal for a 2 year old). No ants no Mossy which was great. The beach is a 5 minute walk and is lovely(just be careful with small children as someone held my daughters hand was started to walk away with her). There is lots of activities going on on the beach playgrounds, jet ski, pedaloes, banana boat etc. The Pool area of the hotel in particular the pool is small for the size of the hotel and people were queing to put their towels out as the gate is not opened until 9am. The pool is FREEZING. Hotel food not up to much but plenty of places to eat around. We enjoyed our week in Salou but a week was long enough and we wouldn't go back but each to their own.

Just returned from the cye holiday centre and had a great time. Lovely appartment very clean, nice size rooms. Lots of clean towels. The starter pack with washing up liquid and dish cloth was a nice thought. All staff very helpful and friendly. Thomson's rep was very nice. I thought everyone there tried to make you wellcome and they did. Pool was a little small but for what we paid I was very pleased and would go back again. Found a great place to eat Buddy's on the large round about. Food was very good and lots of it.

Enjoyed 4 weeks at the Cye, locality and the apartments were first class, the cleanliness was second to none.
very near all shops and small friendly bars and restaurants, especially the Corr Lin Bar with Paco and his family. the best steak and sunday roasts in Salou. The deal we had was a real bargain. Near the airport, and the taxi service was good. The locality of Cye was suitable to us as it was in the quieter area of Salou, although everything was down that area, especially the beautiful fountains with their laser lights. Hope to spend another holiday at Salou. The entertanier for the children "Fernando" worked very hard and was always pleasant with children and the adults.

Well we arrived at a nice time in the morning about 11ish, stayed for a week just me and one friend. As it was almost end of season there was very few staying in the hotel at the time, that meant less noise when hung over and not many kids in your face! The trains came and went within seconds and once you heard it, you'd kinda become immune to the noise!
The pool food was tops and the drink, even better!! Little shop mall in the place, internet and washing machine. But the night guard wouldn't let us bring people back to our room for a party, though I suppose that was for the sake of the other guests! Beach is nice yeah and plenty of shops and the likes, food was fairly cheep as well....
Our room looked over a beautiful car park, 3 actually, one after another that lead onto the Train tracks, not that we were to bothered like but the view could have been a little better. Other than that I'd recommend it to anyone that wants a good break away!
It was a deadly holiday and I'll deffo be going back for more Salou action!
Avoid the Bouncers in Snoopys though they tend to stamp people in the strangest of places, my back n all got it bad!

What can I say except I loved it; clean rooms, helpful staff, great food, great pools, but I would agree they are a little small. I was pleasantly surprised by the Cye and I would go back again 60euros to pay for dep and 33euros for safety deposit box you get 70euros back. You do have to check out at 10.00 but if you wish you can stay on until 3pm for an extra 24euros (which we did). And the travel rep Charley what a pleasant and helpful girl, she will go far. The trains didn't annoy me and I was at the front in room 111, friends who stayed at the back said the bar area/pool was a bit noisy but on the whole a great holiday in sunny Salou. 9 out of 10

Cannot fault CYE apartments and i'm pretty fussy!! We paid £200 for one week, complete bargain! we weren't expecting great accomodation for the amount we paid and very pleasantly suprised. The apartments were clean, spacious and nice, big balcony and nice bedroom, also very well equipt! The pool/poolside was basic but fine, all hotel staff we met were nice, brilliant location (only about 5 mins to the beach and town centre) Salou itself was lovely, Slightly tacky but most holiday resorts these days are, the beach was gorgeous, beautiful town and plenty to do, if you have young children or a theme park enthusiast i would reccoment going to porta ventura but me and my boyfriend werent that bothered by it! All in all a good holiday and would definatley reccomend!

The hotel is towards the Marina and is in an area which has a more Spanish feel. Its about a 15 min walk to the main bars, restaurants, shops which was great at night as there was no noise. About 30 mins walk to Port Aventura. The train track at the back of the hotel didnt make any difference at all. There are small British cafe/bars very close by. The rooms are spacious and clean as are all areas of the hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Entertainment is karoake, bingo at night and they also have different nightly shows for all ages. Throughout the day Fernando tried to entertain families with pool games for kids and dads (polo) and this is only for hour or so in afternoon. This is a great base for young families. Teenagers would probably get a bit bored with entertainment, location. Highly recommended if you dont want to be "in the thick of it".

Just came back from the apartments! Would not go back again. What a poor hotel. Rooms very small! Although were tidy and clean.
Pool out side is so little people are booming into each other! Far too small 4 the size of the hotel.
I went with me partner and my 2 children aged 10 and 14 there was nothing much for them to do in the hotel, entertainment of a night was poor.
The noise was terrible. There is a train track running behind the hotel that we weren’t told about when booking the hotel!
The best thing about this holiday was coming home!!!!!!!!!!!

All we did was look for the cheapest on a number of things, flights, car hire, insurance, accommodation, and what a bargain we came up with.
The overall cost was 56.50 each for a period of 4 days (happy days). It wasn’t until the next day when we woke up along with a stinking hangover the wife had said "did we book a holiday last night?" - yes, I replied.
We decided to look up some reviews on the property and what we read we couldn’t believe what people had written.
We got there about 10ish in the evening it was nothing like what we had read. The welcome was second to none. The hotel and the one bed apartment very comfortable and were spotlessly clean.
We also read that someone had complained about the railway track I think they may be of watching Thomas the tank on the tele, because the only time we heard it was during the day and that was only a couple of times.
The pool area was quite pleasant with the pool bar serving drinks and reasonability priced snacks. There is also a small amusement arcade for the kiddies with air hockey and pool tables to keep them occupied.
The complex is a short walk from the lively area of Salou, but there are a few bars and restaurants on the way and it is also a short walk to the clean beach.
You must try the lazy wave for the karaoke, and the robin hood for the sport and 007 bar for the cheap drinks.
We will be definitely going back to this place again in the near future and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Had a lovely stay in the Cye.
Went there with my partner. Our room was lovely and clean and had lots of towels and it even had left some washing up liquid, very handy!
We found the reps a little unhelpful. They would not give out any information unless it was about a trip they were offering. They also tried to put us off going on the train by telling us to watch out for pick pockets. We went to Barcelona on the train and had a lovely time.
The Spanish staff were very good. The shop was very handy, a little pricy but had a good variety of stuff. Closed on a Sunday.
We barely heard the train at all and we could see it out our window! I am a very light sleeper and it did not bother me or my partner.
Really good laser show on down at the water every night and you can watch for free!
Our rooms were cleaned twice and cleaned very well.
The bar was a little over run with kids, but they seemed to be having a great time! If I had kids of my own I would have been very glad of a child friendly bar!
Would love to go back again.

I have just returned from Cye apartments. I travelled with my partner and my two children aged 13+20.
We found the apartments very clean and spacious. There is a large balcony and they even provided a washing up starter pack which I thought was a nice touch.
The only negative side were a train line running next to the building and they do run all night and sound the horns, which didn't bother us but I would imagine with small children it could be a problem. Also the beds were very uncomfortable.
The pool was very nice but I imagine in July/August it would get very busy.
The reception staff were very helpful. The beach and restaurants are very close by. If you’re expecting Spanish dishes forget it as everything was with chips!
Overall I would recommend these apartments, considering we got a really cheap deal with Thomsons and were only there for 5 nights.

We have visited Salou on previous occasions and love the area but a week at the Cye Apartments were a new venture for us.
I will first praise the positive aspects of the hotel -
The rooms were spotlessly clean and tidy. Good, modern decor and comfortable beds. Maid service twice a week and our 1 bedroom apartment was certainly spacious for the two of us. So, thumbs up here.
Internet access was a great bonus of the hotel - .50 euros for 10mins.
And now for the BIG BIG negatives .......
Noise - If you want a quiet relaxing holiday, the Cye is not the place to go. It really was lager lout city with noise continuing downstairs in the bar until the late early hours. Added to that, the movement of chairs and beds and the constant clip clopping of high heels up above..... Little sleep was had. Infact, we have come back from holiday more tired than we went away. Hardly ideal.
Children - As a parent of two children, I fully appreciate that a holiday is a time to kick back and relax but it seemed that most of the parents here had totally forgotten their parental responsibility and children ran riot. The 'child catcher' would have been welcome!
First Choice reps - were quite frankly, pretty damn useless. The excursions were exceptionally bad value for money - we did Barcelona on our own by train and tour bus and saved £££'s euros and saw exactly what WE wanted to see. The reps were poor on local services and did not appear interested in helping customers. I think the days of a holiday rep are numbered......
And, now to smaller gripes......
Location - Further back from the sea front than we were led to believe. A long walk from the shops, the station and restaurants. Get those hiking shoes on!!
Hotel shop - very limited hours of opening.
Hotel reception staff - very unfriendly and unhelpful - our air conditioning broke and it took 4 complaints to get it fixed.
Hotel food - very poor. We ate out every day.
Hotel entertainment - We looked in and decided it wasn't for us - school day pranks and very much second rate.
Helen and Steve

My partner and I visited the cye apartments this was my first holiday abroad however not for my partner who has been several places however it was his first time in salou and we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday the room was amazing and a spacious balcony.
There was regular visits from the maids although you have to dispose of your own rubbish this wasn’t a problem as it was just at the end of the corridor the lifts are always in operation and the staff were really friendly.
I thought the reps were great they had a book for visitors with faqs so we found everything out without having to approach them, also I would recommend if you take your travellers cheques to the Bavaria bank in the old town across the railway as it is commission free we got full value.
There was different entertainment every evening including bingo every night and the bar staff were friendly and you have the choice of sitting in or out and the staff personally take your order, payment and deliver your food you don’t even have to move.
Great if you want relaxation, the beach was a 5 min walk all the nightclubs pubs and bars are about a 20 min walk away and there are taxis available very reasonable priced.
Port aventura was amazing buy your tickets before you go we got 3 days for 7 on the internet for 45 pounds amazing value, you can spend the whole day there we thought the best pubs were Danny boys and 007 or if you want a nightclub got to snoopy or the crocs the beach is clean and for those shoppers the shops are amazing there is also a great Chinese restaurant nearby which is amazing and a great little cafe nearby that sold a full English breakfast with sky TV.
I would also recommend aquapolis also a short bus trip away much better then the water park caribe creek at port ventura it was 14 euro to get into aquapolis and you can view the dolphin show twice and get your picture taken with the sea lions, the pics cost 10 euro.
We were able to see port aventura from our bedroom and the train line nearby I didn’t notice this at all it didn’t disturb us at all the whole atmosphere was amazing, the cye holiday centre made the holiday there is a great little shop very handy when you first arrive, however we found shopping is cheaper especially bottled water in town however if you spending the day out freeze bottled water or diluted juice and take it with you it lasts a few hours in the heat.
We would stay at the same place if we were to visit again I will say gracias for reading.
