Went to Cye Holiday Centre with a 4 year old and 8 month old baby and will never be back as got hardly any sleep for the whole week.
We were placed in room 129 on the first floor right above where they place the speakers for their evening entertainment which was unbearably loud and my baby daughter cried herself to sleep until midnight every night. Therefore I couldn't enjoy a single evening relaxing on the balcony. Even when I did get her settled we still couldn't sit on the balcony as the music was so loud we wouldn't have heard her if she woke up and you had a crowd of people directly below you staring at you and cheering and banging chairs with no consideration for anyone else. When you are trying to put a baby to sleep the last thing you want to be subjected to is a bunch of forty year olds singing the "Birdie Song" at 1am. Some nights the music didn't stop till this time but even after this you still had people outside your window talking and shouting till the small hours. Then you had the alcopop brigade above you who didn't seem to sleep at all and moved furniture in their high heels all night.
We complained both to First Choice reps and reception and asked to be moved but they did nothing. The head receptionist told me that she gave me that room as it was "a good room and because I needed a cot" (whatever that means). We also phoned reception and asked them to arrange for the music to be turned down but they said they weren't allowed. Presumably they want as many people there as possible spending money on drink. They should have given us a room at the back with an infant as you could have slept through the noise of the trains easier.
They seem to water down the beer so that you buy more. The rooms were clean although not terribly spacious.
We were also given a dodgy looking kettle which we used apprehensively for 2 days before it blew the fuse and the electric tripped, so we could have been electrocuted.
The kids clubs reps were excellent and my little boy enjoyed his time there.
Overall, I would have given this hotel a higher rating if they had showed a little more thoughtfulness in allocating my room.

Just arrived back from our holiday in Salou. We like Salou and the location of the apartments was good. The apartment was clean and roomy and the maid service every couple of days was good. However, we arrived at 4.30am and had to lug our suitcases for quite a distance up the street as the bus was unable to get through - this was the case when we departed from the Cye at 1.10am and with a family of 5 and all the luggage it was a nightmare. We had to vacate our room at 10am despite the fact that we did not fly until 3.30am, On arriving there was a power cut, only torchlight at reception, no lifts working and could not see anything in our apartment whatsoever - no spare torches - nothing. We were unable to make up beds for the children at all and we were very tired. Reception staff not helpful at all.
The railway did not bother us at all just the noise of people drinking and screeching until gone 2am every night with people just letting their children run wild plus the noise of people moving chairs or beds in the apartment above.
Entertainment was average although we would have preferred the main entertainment to have started earlier than 11.00pm.
Despite warnings at the Welcome meeting that no-one was to put towels down on the sun beds and that they would be removed - at 9.00am every morning as soon as the pool area was opened there was a rush of people doing this - the pool area is too small for the amount of people staying at the Cye and therefore we went to the lovely beach of Salou which is only 5mins away.
Plenty to do in the area, e.g. Port Aventura, Aquapolis Water Park and Barcelona is only 1hr 30 mins away. The bars and restaurants are also very good. We enjoyed The Vines, the Corra Lin bar just down the road and there is a good Chinese restaurant nearby as well - good food and cheap.

Cye Apartments
the apartments are very clean, spacious and comfortable. Maid came in 3 times in the week we stayed there, good value for money. We ate and went out every night so I don't know what food or entertainment is like, big reception, handy little supermarket on site, pool quite small and cold but enough sun loungers for nearly everyone. Lots of families there. Would recommend to anybody!
Eating In Salou
There are lots of good eating places in Salou, and many places to have a drink it night. Kahula, near the parrot pub, is a nice place to go for a drink, and the boat house does great food (even though its at the other side of Salou, near Golden Avenida park)
Aquapolis
Aquapolis is great. Boomerang is one of the best water rides there, and so is splash. We struggled finding somewhere to eat because there was either big queues, or bad complaints about the food.
Caribe and Port Aventura
Some cracking rides here... Tutuki splash, Stampida and the silver river flume are great at Port Aventura, and El Torrente, at Costa Caribe, is just fantastic!
We flew home yesterday, and overall, we had a great holiday!

The hotel is clean and the Spanish staff lovley. F C Reps not much help. If you arrive after 10pm, you will have to go into Salou as the hotel stops serving food. (food and service good).
Beware if hiring a car, as no where to park, and the hotel charges you 9 euros a day to use theirs. Remember to take £50 for room deposit, and a safe will cost you 40 euros and 10 euros deposit. You are close to a railway line, but I did sleep through the night time horns. Though beware you will be awoken by people moving their chairs in the rooms above!!
Entertainment, was disappointing, same thing most nights, small kids disco and BINGO , I felt very sorry for the Spanish rep who had the sole job of entertaining every night. There were a parrot show, a juggler and a hypnotist (he was good, when it worked!) But the entertainment was in the dining hall, so it felt like being at school.
A lot of parents thought it was an excuse to relinquish their parental rights and just left their kids to run riot.
The pool is small, and there was quite a few accidents. The beach is nice, you have to fight your way to the waters edge, as it is packed!! (you have to walk through the town to get to it). The hotel shop is closed all day Sunday! and is expensive.
There is a washing machine, but as no one told me about it until the last day, so did not use it. Clothes airers left rust marks on all the clothes.
BE AWARE, they will kick you out at 10am, even if your flight is at 3am the next morning! I paid extra but still got kicked out at 6pm, so had to hang about for 6 hours. Cafes in Salou mainly only take cash!!!!
Port adventure swallows up a lot of money as you have to hire everything!!! Get there early, and make sure no one nicks your ring, as you will not get your deposit back!
I liked all the Spanish staff and the hotel was very clean, but can not praise anything else.

This hotel although very clean is right next to a very busy train track which sounds its horn all through the night. The entertainment consists of a kids disco for an hour, bingo and a quiz.
The pool area is very small and not enough beds for everyone staying in the hotel and very slippery so several adults and children fell over and hurt themselves. You have to pay additional 60 euros for a cot on arrival.
Food isn’t very nice but cheap. Reps are not based at this hotel and you basically have to ask reception for help - but they aren’t very accommodating.
Overall I give this hotel a 9 for cleanliness and 4 for food and entertainment.

This was our 3rd time in Salou in the past 4 years. The Cye holiday centre was spotlessly clean with great staff and entertainment.
We had booked for half board but as it was only ourselves and 1 other couple who had paid for this the hotel manager refused to provide the meals we had paid for. We were in dispute for the whole week with First Choice Reps and the management of the hotel. We were told to take a meal from the bar snack menu. Of course this was unacceptable and I spent most of the week arguing.
First Choice did not get this settled and I had to wait until we returned home to Scotland and lodge a complaint with First Choice. This was the only problem we had and I still would recommend the Cye but just don’t book Half board!

We thought the Cye Salou Apartments was good value for money, it was spotlessly clean as it was recently refurbished and centrally situated, but don't get confused with the Cye Salou Holiday Centre that's a different part. We flew with Ryanair from Stansted to Reus Airport which is only a 10-15 minute drive to the apartment. The beach was a 5 minute walk away, the bars and restaurants were all around you.
The Cye Salou apartments had a swimming pool, pool table, internet facilities with computer games (1 euro gives you 12 minutes). We were a family of 2 adults and 2 children and we slept comfortably. There was a bedroom with 2 single beds joined together and a sofa bed that sleeps 2 comfortably in the living room. I took my own washing up liquid and hairdryer but only to find they gave a little starter pack of a small washing up liquid and scrubber. They also had a hairdryer in the bathroom.
Towels and beds were changed after 2 days. It had air-conditioning but make sure the windows and doors are closed or else it doesn't work! There are plenty of Supermarkets only 1 minute walk away. There is a bus stop right outside which you can take a coach to Port Aventura Theme Park which is a 10-15 minutes ride away. The park entry costs €35 for adults and €22.50 euros for children, it might be cheaper to book your tickets online before you go so check that out. Don't miss the shows they have on there especially the one in China Town and Polynesian Dance! We also took a panoramic tour of Barcelona which picked us right outside the CYE Salou. Find out the pick-up times from reception best to go before 11.00am though.
They bring you back around 8.15pm. The tour costs around €25 for adults and €22 euros for children. We enjoyed the tour as they look after you throughout the tour. It is about 1.1/2 hours to Barcelona by coach. The only thing we suffered from was insect bites we don't know when and where we got bitten but me and my children had quite a few inflamed bites! We have a feeling they were bed bugs! but not sure as everything was so clean! So take antiseptic cream with you just incase! However, we will definitely go back again!

When booking my holiday to Salou I was sure it was going to be a fantastic holiday and I was definitely right. On arrival to Cye holiday centre I was very surprised to see how clean and welcoming the hotel and staff were.
The accommodation itself was also great as it was spacious and cozy, I enjoyed the nice warm nights on the balcony with my boyfriend jus relaxing and admiring the spectacular view from my balcony. It was just amazing to see all the hills and just down the road the lovely white sandy beach. The food and drink was excellent and waiters and waitresses were very helpful. Evening entertainment at the hotel was brilliant and there was something there for all age groups. It ranged from children’s disco's to adult games n karaoke.
The beach was a short walk away form our hotel and was the high light of my holiday as there was the beautiful blue sea and many water activities to do if you wanted to. The pool area in the hotel grounds was clean and child friendly but I found that it was very cramped around there and was not enough sun loungers to go around for the amount of people that the hotel can accommodate.
Over all I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be going again. Would just like to say a big THANKYOU to all the staff at Cye holiday centre the entertainers, bar staff, and reps you all made my holiday worth it . THANKS ALOT. X

I decided to go with first choice for my holiday. I was staying at the Cye Holiday Centre and was very pleased with what we got. Everything was to my standards and staff were very friendly. The beaches were lovely and the rooms were well kept.
The only thing I didn't like was I think that the pool was too small for how many people the hotel can take in all I enjoyed my holiday and I definitely made the right choice. I will be making arrangements in the near future to go again.

We have just returned from our holiday at the CYE Holiday Centre in Salou. We had an excellent time the accommodation was lovely, very clean. the staff were extremely helpful.
We would advise other holiday makers to make sure they have all the information when purchasing trips from the first choice reps. We where travelling with our young son who has cerebral palsy. He is a wheelchair user and we explained to the reps that we needed to know that the trips would be suitable for him. They assured us that they were and we paid for them all in advance. None of the trips where suitable for anyone with physical difficulties.
We tried to speak to the rep but where told we had to see the rep who sold us the trips. We did not see her for the rest of the holiday. The thoughtlessness of the rep spoiled what was an lovely holiday in an excellent apartment. We would recommend the CYE to anyone with a young family.

On arrival in Salou I was pleased to see beautiful surroundings the beaches are gorgeous with a huge promenade. Salou is extremely busy and popular with families, there are lots of shops, restaurants and bars.
The CYE accommodation was perfect for families it provided an ideal base in a central location, I found the small supermarket very handy and would advise anyone to get their milk from there!
The pool area was quite small and was very busy throughout the day.
The apartments are a fair size with huge balconies and the whole centre is spotlessly clean. Maid service was fine although they don’t remove your garbage.
Restaurants we found the best were, Dog & Duck, Zeezicht and the Vines.
If you are venturing to Barcelona take the train cheaper and quicker.
We had a fantastic time and I would recommend anyone to visit both Salou and CYE!

Very nice place - great kids club. Room generally nice, clean, well equipped.
Only negative, we found the pool to be absolutely freezing. Holiday centre is located next to a train line - noise of train did not disturb us too much.
The centre is quite close to the beach and shops. Overall, we had a very nice stay.
