Anse Chastanet Hotel

My husband surprised me with a trip to St. Lucia for our honeymoon! Anse Chastanet was amazing for us. Just the right balance of romance and activities. Mornings filled with jungle biking, snorkling, deep sea fishing or hiking. Lazy afternoons under our own tiki hut or lounging in a hammock. The service is top notch, whether it's a drink from Troy or a mint spray from Junior. I would not recommend this resort for non-active people. My wife and I had never been to St.Lucia before - after some research we decided to stay in the Soufriere region. This is by far the most scenic part of the island even though the town of Soufriere does not offer that much in terms of shopping and eating out. We have recently returned from ANSE CHASTANET where we spent a fabulous 10 days over Christmas and New Year. We had been to ANSE CHASTANET many years before and this was one place we knew we had to return to... We did not regret our decision. We found the staff and management to be most attentive and it was very nice to also meet the owners. We paid thousands of dollars to stay at this resort expecting luxury. Our room was just huge empty space, the decor old cheap and outdated, although the room was clean it' s obvious that corners are cut in this place. Stayed at this "resort" for 1 week after spending 2 nights at Ladera (which is about 20 minutes from Anse Chastenet. What a big letdown! Ladera had cooling breezes, fabulous meals and the room was lovely. Anse Chastenet was hot, hot, hot - had dated, mediocre rooms and the food was overpriced and also mediocre. I kept trying to convince myself that it really wasn't that bad, but that would've only worked if the all-inclusive price had been about $200 per day. What a beautiful place. Tree frogs and humming birds on the balcony, mountains on the left and sea on the right. The staff were extremely friendly and I would go again without hesitation. Don't be put off by descriptions of the ride from the airport. It is bumpy and long but well worth it. Strangely enough every other main road on the Island is fine except the one from the airport to Soufriere.

Stayed here for our honeymoon. If there is a better resort than this, than i'm shocked. We had the best of times & our experiences with the staff, resort, food, etc.. was nothing but the best. Well worth the money if you like privacy & being catered to. We will be going back.

This place has it all: Unique rooms, Gourmet food, Spa, Beautiful beach, Great Scuba diving, Great Snorkeling (the reef starts 15 yards from the beach), Jungle Biking, Ocean Kayaking. If you want to jumpstart your relationship bring her here.

Ive travelled to St.Lucia several times now, and have stayed and toured most of the resorts on the island. Anse Chastanet is far and away the most beautiful. There are very few beaches in the Carribean that can compare, and NONE on St. Lucia as nice as the beach at this hotel.
