Jun 2008, Miss C.F Fellows

Hello, my name is Lottie and i happened to stay in Cavo Bianco hotel last week with 8 of my girlie friends, it was by far the worst hotel i have ever stayed in expecially for an all inclusive deal. We asked for 3 in each room and we ended up getting a 4 a 2 and a 3, when we finally got placed in our rooms, my room (the one with the 4 girls in) wouldnt open the door handle was broken, we got a handyman out to come and fix it but nothing was done, he said he would return and change it when we where out in the night but never did, our air conditioning blew out hot air for 2 nights of our holiday, our fridge/freezer defrosted and leaked all over the floor, our towel rail was broken and hung off the wall, an ants nest was found in our kitchen area, alot of things went wrong with all of our rooms and we know that we where not the only customers unhappy with the service's provided for us in the hotel at the time, the food was appalling, same food at lunch time and for dinner and then the same for the rest of the week...consisted of spaghetti bolognese, soggy salads and fries. We met up with 14 lads when we where in Cavo Bianco and one night decided to do something extremely silly and climb over a fence to go in the Sea which losed at midnight, we all realised it was the wrong thing to do and owned up to doing it and appologised sincerely to the manager, they fined us 1700 euro's for NO damamge that was made and if 1 person out of the 23 of us we would get ejacted from the Hotel, we had to pay..they also blamed deck chair damage, vandalism and noise polution in the fine, we didnt see an invoice, and know for a fact through one of the workers who was on our side that the money did NOT got to any of the "damage" I would NOT recommend that anyone stays in this hotel if they are looking for a high quality 4* hotel, because this hotel definatly doesnt live up to the 4* rating. This put a downer on all of our holiday and i would not like it to happen to anyone else. PLEASE TAKE NOTE!

Jun 2008, Ms J Oldham

I was very excited about going to these apartments after reading the reviews left by others and i wasn't disapointed to much!!
What i will say is if you are thinking of going here then you must must take repellant i have been home for one day and the itching from the mozzy bites are driving me insane!!
The hotel rooms are clean and well looked after i think there was only 1 day out of seven that the sheets weren't changed and the towels weren't fresh!! So that was good!
The food was not to bad i wouldnt rave about it saying it was amazing yes there was a different choice every night but the presentation could of been a lot better and the actual dining room i found to be way to small for the number of guests staying there were a few nights we had to wait and grab a table when one came free!!
Now to the down points the entertainment staff!!!! they seem to be really nice people in themselves but we only sawthem do three shows the entire week and then they were all the same thing just different songs and costumes when you go into the reception they have a board telling you what the plans are for the day these were not stuck to at all the only things i seen done during the day were killer pool and beach volleyball neither of which i can do as i'm pregnant i was looking forward to the family quiz's by the pool an such like but it wasnt never mentioned!! So this was a real bad point of the holiday for me as they prefered to spend there time by the pool chillin than actually entertaining the paying customers!!
The bar staff and the receptionists were all really lovely understood english really well an they made us feel very welcome!
All in all a very nice place to stay but just remember that repellant haha!! I'm so itchy!!!!

Apr 2008, SunGoddess

On arrivel to Cova Bianco Hotel there were no rooms avalible. We weren't happy as had been up all nite and traveling with child. A room was finally found at 7:30am and it was very nice it had very steep steps to upstairs, a small kitchen area and bath/shower room.Only thing was the patio doors wouldn't lock nor did air-con work, had to call them back many times.
A few drunk lads were hanging about the lobby area and they didn't have a rooms at this hotel.
Beach was nice, pools clean, gardens kept well.

I would recommend Cavo Bianco...

Jan 2008,  M Walsh

I would recommend Cavo Bianco apartments to families with small children who want a relaxing break and aren’t too bothered about night life.
The pool was lovely and the complex is situated on the beach, childrens entertainment was faultless...saying that we had four teenagers in our party who were too young to go into Kavos alone yet were too old for onsite entertainment.
Once outside the gates of the complex there is nothing, the street is poorly lit and traffic flies by. Walking into Kavos is dicing with death; one of our party fell down a deep hole covered by a piece of cardboard and injured his leg.
But once again if you intend staying on the complex or have small children this could be the holiday for you, unfortunately our children were just that little bit too old.

Nov 2007, Miss Kallon Alleyne

When we first got there (really early) it was very nice, we was expecting to sleep in the office bit but no! When we phoned they said we might have to but we didn't, we had a room straight away! It was lovely, in the morning we went to the pool to chill and the pool was lovely, so was the weather it was a perfect holiday and I recommend families should go there! Its a great place for families, babies the lot!
If you do go there (BRING SUN CREAM!!).

A few good points and a few not so...
6 / 10
Sep 2007, Mr B Mcpake

A few good points and a few not so good points.
Firstly, the good points. The food is wide and varied and overall there is an excellent variety of choices on a day to day basis.
The apartments were clean and tidy with catering facilities ie fridge, microwave etc. and local TV (You can pay 7 Euros a day to upgrade to a full Sky Package for your room), if you wish. Fully controllable air conditioning too and the beds changed daily with fresh towels too, so no real problems with the accommodation. The pool and bar areas are good too and the all inclusive package runs until 11pm with local drinks and snacks all day. So, all in all, quite good eh?
Now a couple of not so good points. The location, although on the beach, is a little isolated. St. Peters has a few deserted pubs etc, mainly due to the all inclusive nature of Cavo Bianco. Kavos is around 25mins walk or three mins in a taxi (costing only around 6 Euros one way) but unless you are the teenage party going type, Kavos is just boom boom city with alcohol a la Faliraki, Aya Napa etc. If you're over 30, you're really going to feel very old in Kavos I'm afraid. And, that's about it for location. The local bus service is practically non existent and takes around one and a half hours to do the 30 mile journey to Corfu Town.
In Cavo Bianco Village itself, the entertainment is almost exclusively aimed at children. For families with young kids, it'll be great, as the entertainment team really do work hard at amusing the kids. If, like us, you are in a group of four adults, its a bit like Butlins from the 80's. Except for one night when they did have Greek Dancers and another night when they put on a Memories show which was really good. Apart from that, it doesn't have much in the way of adult stuff.
We were there for a seven day holiday and it was about three days too long because it got a bit boring. So, if you're looking for that holiday with a nice town to wander round at night, with some nice market stalls, and some reasonable entertainment within your resort, give this a miss.
If you're easily pleased and only want to lie at a pool or on the beach or get drunk on unheard brands of Vodka and Gin, then this could be for you.
Needless to say, we won't be returning to the South of Corfu - We'll stick to Sidari in the North or somewhere near the Capital, Corfu Town.

Brilliant! APARTMENT - typically...
9 / 10
Aug 2007, Mrs Chelly Byrne

Brilliant!
APARTMENT - typically Greek - basic but clean, set in a green (as much as they had tried to get it green - poor old gardener was out every morning watering the grass and plants) grassed area with lots of pretty shrubbery.
Towels changed twice weekly - shower would have been more effective if the shower curtain had reached the the raised tiling in the shower - wet floor every time the shower was on!
This is the first European holiday I have had where there is hot water 24/7 - you didn't have to be showering at 3pm before everyone else went to their apartments to use the hot water up!
Air conditioning (56 euros for 2 weeks!) maid everyday except on a Sunday. Hairdryer and telephone. Good balcony space with table and chairs.
STAFF - fantastic - all spoke english very well and even smiled at our poor attempt at speaking in Greek. The staff are a mixture of ex-pats, Greeks & Eastern Europeans. Not one member of staff was ever rude or impolite. Oh hold on - Dr was a bit iffy.
ANNIMATION TEAM (entertainment team)
Well what can I say - Jane, leanne, louise, bin bag, alex, alan....you made our fortnight, coping with my cheeky boy Harry and giving us a entertainment package that puts all red/blue coats to shame.
Kids hour 8-9pm -dancing, games
9-10pm family hour - bingo, quiz's etc
10pm til late The team really push out the boat with costumes and themed nights that were fantastic, extremely professional and classy.
During the day they organised (everyday) a combination of beach volley ball - water volley ball, killer darts, killer pool, painting for the kids, talent shows for the kids - who then peform in the evening - water aerobics....constantly on the go !
I cannot praise these guys enough!
FOOD - Brilliant -
Never heard anyone complain of a bad tummy - always something to eat from fresh fish to veal, always a pasta choice on for kids - funny watching our kids tuck into nuggets and chips only for them to realise they were "chick pea" nuggets so funny. Fresh salads, fresh fruit, fresh veg every day. Bacon - lets just say i was so looking forward to a proper bacon sarni when we got home!
Overall i would rate the food 10/10.
Restaurant staff and Managers were friendly and very helpful. BEWARE - don't enter the restaurant during the day with a bare chest - you will be asked to cover up - ladies should cover bikini tops too - although this was not always requested by them. Dry the kids off before you go in as the seats are leather and you end up with a pool of water and a very dangerous floor.
All inclusive is the way to go here - many snacks available (bit limited for free ones) ice cream and drinks all day (free snacks not available while the restaurant is open). Costas on the bar is a little heavy handed with the vodka. beer weak but at least no one was falling over! Only those on shorts if you could stomach more than a few with the lack of space for a mixer drink in your glass.
POOL - BEACH
The pool is lovely, with a small toddler area which is seperate and fenced off partially so no one big can fall in while passing, very clean and warm. If your children are prone to ear infections - speak to your gp BEFORE you leave as this is a common problem - not at this place in particular - but for the older kids, diving and swimming under water, the ears (along with the warm water) do get sensitive.
The beach is lovely - right beside pool - 27 fixed bamboo umbrellas, and the sea is very shallow, you can almost walk out half a mile! Crystal clear water - we saw fishes near our feet.
There is on site -
Supermarket (to us a corner shop)
Medical room
Reception with safety deposit (FREE) boxes
Internet cafe (4 pc's)
Telephone boothes.
Play climbing thingy (very big)
Tennis courts
Local bus stop right at the entrance to Cavo Biano
If your children are young (not teenagers) then this place all inclusive is well worth the money.
Fantastic value for money - no pushy reps, Jo was lovely and very understanding when I had to cancel a trip to the water park when my son developed a ear infection in both ears.
Overall A very very good holiday.

We have just returned from Cavo...
10 / 10
Aug 2007, Mrs H Cox

We have just returned from Cavo Bianco with our 3 children (aged 15, 12, 6) - and none of us wanted to come home!
We only knew we were going to Cavo Bianco a couple of weeks before our holiday, due to our original holiday being overbooked. We were quite anxious, being close to Kavos, and were worried by some of the reviews. There is no need to be worried by either.
Kavos is about 20 minutes away - it is apparently very lively - but we didn't visit at all!
The apartments are typically Greek - very basic - but spotlessly clean too. We had two adjoining rooms with twin beds in each, and a third camp bed in one room. The bathrooms in our studios were tiny - and quite old, but not a huge problem - you only have to be able to have a shower! We did use another room on the last day, which was much bigger and had a bigger bathroom, and I know some of the studios for four people had two beds upstairs and two downstairs.
One of our rooms had a small two ring hob, toaster and kettle and a fridge and the other room had a fridge and a microwave. I would not recommend staying here if you are self catering - but with the all inclusive package it’s really not worth it.
We booked all inclusive before we went - but you can upgrade to all inclusive when you are there.
There is air conditioning in the room - which costs E58 for two weeks. However, when we arrived we were told it was free if you are all inclusive - and some people who upgraded to all inclusive got their air conditioning charge refunded. So it’s worth haggling over the air conditioning!!!!!
The food is fantastic. All buffet style - which is great as you don’t have to wait ages for your meals! Breakfast - choice of cooked breakfasts, different styles of eggs, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, potatoes. Also variety of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, dried fruit, continental cheese/meat, apple strudel or croissants. It was more or less the same choice each day for breakfast, but with so much choice you wouldn’t have to eat the same every day.
Lunch is in the same restaurant (dress code - have to put shirt on for men and top/shorts or top/skirt for ladies - beach style fine). Choice of hot or cold - variety of meats and cheeses and lovely fresh salad every day. Bread to help yourself to, along with fresh fruit, ice cream and various gateaux.
Evening meals - again choice of hot and cold food. The salad was available every day - as was the pasta and Bolognese (which pleased my kids!) But there was variety with everything else. There was usually a fish dish, two or three meat dishes and a vegetarian dish. The vegetarian variety was not great though, veg and cheese basically. The dress code was smart casual - which is surprising in Greece - men you can wear your shorts as long as they are smart ones!
There was also a choice of wine, beer, fizzy or juice drinks in the restaurant.
The pool bar and evening bar serving other drinks - the waiters are very generous with the alcohol - but also with the ice cubes! So it was pretty watered down!!!!! But free, so hey.
Entertainment - could not fault - even if it is not to your taste - the kids have a fantastic time and the entertainers work very very hard. There was pool and beach activities during the day, quizzes and then in the evening kids hour of dancing etc. and then cabaret or quiz shows - all suitable for kids of all ages. There is also a pool table where most of the older kids congregate.
The pool itself is lovely - quite big and kept very clean. The pool area was not swept every day - but really wasn’t a problem. Just where the smokers sat you tended to get a collection of cigarette buts, as there were no ashtrays.
There were lots of sun beds - but it seemed you had to get up early if you wanted to sit in a particular area. There were not many sunshades - and what was there was broken - but there were plenty of bases.
There were very few wasps, some of the reviews indicate otherwise. If you sat over one side by the flowers then there were a few bees - but not a problem. Even round the bins there weren’t excessive amounts of wasps (and I hate even one!) Also, very few mosquitoes - we only got bitten a couple of times and I think that was at the airport.
The pool area opened straight onto the beach - which had more sun beds and more umbrellas. The beach was very clean, but quite a lot of seaweed in the edge of the water. Once into the sea though it was not a problem, and the sea was shallow and warm.
Jet ski, pedalo and speedboat all available on the beach at reasonable prices.
Mini market on site =- not too expensive - we didn’t bother to go elsewhere for bits and pieces.
We did hire a car - through Lord Travel (offered by a rep on site). I don’t know if it was particularly expensive (E 175 for four days). We used the car to visit Aqua land - which was well worth the day trip (costs E 101 for three adults and two children) Loads of sun beds and umbrellas - but drinks etc very expensive here.
We also used the car to travel to Corfu town for an evening - worth the trip for the souvenir shops and we had a meal in the town too. But, a long drive (about 1 1/2 hours) and very easy to get lost. If I went back, I would probably go on the coach trip. A bit more expensive, but much less hassle.
We then did not want to go anywhere else, and asked Lord Travel if we could return the car early, which they agreed and agreed to a partial refund - which we never got. The medhotels rep was really unhelpful on this count. So, if you are going to hire a car, decide for definite how many days you want it for first!
The rooms were cleaned daily (except for Sunday) and the sheets and towels changed every couple of days. The staff were all very friendly - even the 'grumpy waiter' in the restaurant - if you smile and chat to him its like melting ice!
The reception staff were fantastic - one Greek who spoke very good English and the others English who spoke Greek if you needed it. I lost my purse while I was here, and the reception organised me a taxi to take me to the police station, and the taxi driver stayed with me to help with the language barrier in the police station - everyone was so helpful.
I had 3 children with me - aged 15, 12 and 6. They all had the most fantastic time - all made friends of their own and different ages. All the kids seemed to get on in one big group - whether they were in the pool, on the beach or by the pool table. As I said, none of us wanted to come home. We had two weeks here - and I would have been quite happy to stay another two! It is so cold now we are at home - and even after 3 days I can’t face cooking!!!
If you are going to Cavo Bianco - you and your kids will have the most fantastic time - and I wish I was going back now!!!!!
Have Fun.

On arrival we upgraded to...

Aug 2007, Mrs N Clarkson

On arrival we upgraded to All-inclusive as did the majority of people, this is good value for money, but does tie you to the resort.
Because of this most of the bars and restaurants have closed down, or have very little life in them, which is a shame.
The resort needs some updating, the rooms are small and the cleaning leaves a lot to be desired, clean towels twice a week if you’re lucky, and the pool area was never cleaned whilst we were there.
On a good point the reception staff and rep were very helpful and we did a couple of trips which were great especially Theo’s boat trip, which is really good fun.
Not a lot to do for kids from 10 upwards, the entertainment was for younger kids, and there was only one pool table working.
Other bars that we went to were Michaels, the food was great there and also Socrates, which is the only bar with any life in it after the all-inclusive has finished at 11 o'clock.

Aug 2007, Mrs L Hancock

Just come back from a week at the Cavo Bianco holiday village. First impression was not good but after a few day's we settled in. The room was very small and I can only describe it as a dolls house, very cramped for 4 people.
The complex was a bit shabby and the toilets by the pool and bar were not good as they weren't cleaned often enough. The food was good but could do with a bit of variation, pool lovely and the beach was fantastic. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We went into Kavos one evening and turned around and came straight back, very dirty and horrible, and went instead to a lovely restaurant on the beach Socraties, if your there give it a try.
We had a nice week but I wouldn't go back.

Jul 2007, Miss K Mcdermott

My family & I visited Cavo Bianco in 2005. We were more than happy with the resort. We weren't too keen on going there at first because its next door to Kavos, once there we found that Kavos was a 20 mins walk away so there was no noise from any partying!
The resort is ideal if you are not hiring a car, everything is close by; the beach is on your door step & the water is shallow & calm for children.
Ok the shop on site is expensive but if you went to Haven in Skegness you find they are expensive too, you are better off shopping off site where ever you holiday!
Staff are helpful & friendly. They are great with the kids, very entertaining.

The apartments are clean, they are like any other apartment I have stayed in in Greece, India, Turkey, and they are basic. People tend to expect home comforts but come on people, the basics are all you need when you’re on holiday as you’re not going to sit in your apartment all day long, and you’re meant to be at the pool side or beach or on one of the exciting trips on offer.
Corfu is such a pretty place this was my 3rd time to Corfu & I'll be going back again & again. I do think that Cavo Bianco is the perfect place to take your children; you hardly have to move your butt off the Sun lounger!

Jul 2007, Ms S Thomson

Overall, to be recommended. Suitable for families, especially with younger children, although when we were there were a few all male groups who were proving to be rowdy in the last few days.
Beach is on the doorstep, fairly clean and very safe. Layout is good and well maintained, beautiful gardens. Pool and dining area very clean. daily maid service, fresh towels daily.
Staff are helpful and friendly. All inclusive food is very good, a wide range of European and Greek food, fish, meats and stews, but also lots for the vegetarian, pulses chick pea casseroles, filo and pastry dishes, cheese and vegetable dishes. Loads of salads. Snacks between meals a little limited.
Facilities poor for self catering, kitchen is very basic, and food shops and supermarkets are very limited. Not many restaurants around, and many guests we spoke to who had booked self catering ended up paying extra to be upgraded to all inclusive.
Entertainment is very cheesy, but appeals to kids. Be warned Kavos ( nearest town) is on the doorstep, an 18 - 30 but Cavo Bianco is far enough to be largely unaffected by it as it is too far to walk back after a night out there.
