Andriana Apartments Reviews
" Just unpacked! "
Submitted By: CasblancaHowever, the apartments are at least 25 minute walk from the resort centre which is a pain. That said - it is SOOOO expensive to eat out and the quality of food so poor that you are better eating in anyway!
We were plagues by mosquitos the whoel holiday - which rather spoiled the al fresco elements we look forward to. Take lots of repellant with you as it is cheaper in UK (we spent almost 40 eurod on spray, plug ins etc).
Advice: very quiet indeed - poor standard of food in restaurants - bring mossie repellant!
Activities: none. Aqualand worth a visit and definitely hire a car to see the island.

" Andriana Apartments "
Submitted By: Maz9We arrived on 1 May 09 (the first of the season). The rooms were cold and the beds were damp. We told Andriana that the beds were damp and she advised that it would be 6 euros per day for heating. Firstly we objected to having to pay to air the rooms but she didn't seem to care and secondly as we were out all day on the bikes (hired from Yannis at Georges - nice guy) we asked if we could just pay for the evening as the temperature really dropped in the evening and a cold room was not ideal, but she said no. We also had problems with intermitant hot water, again she didn't seem bothered by it.
She certainly didn't come across as someone who went out of her way to help.
The apartments are in lovely grounds and a little out of the way of the main town. For those of you who map the hotel from the Thomson website (as we did) beware, the map is wrong and the hotel is in fact the opposite end of town.
If you do go this early in the season be prepared for a lot of shops and restaurants to be closed and boat trips not to have started yet. Also, we didn't find the beach that clean (litter and dog mess). Perhaps later in the season they make more of an effort.
You can use the pool at the Dora but it is a long walk (about 20mins).
Advice: Ideal for a quiet relaxing holiday where you don

" For a quiet, comfortable apartment... "
Submitted By: chienUnfortunately there is no swimming pool, but that probably accounts for the tranquillity.
It is within easy proximity to the beach and lots of wonderful tavernas for good food.
Two supermarkets are within 5 minutes walk and stock all you would need including British newspapers- same day available late afternoon/ evening.
Most holidaymakers are return customers to this hotel appt. The owner can't do enough to make your stay welcome.
She hires out Beach beds & umbrellas, boats etc on one of the cleanest bluestar beaches & gives a discount to her guests.
Please note this place is NOT for those who want a night life, or those with small children. Other hotels in the resort would be better equipped.

" The apartment is spacious and clean... "
Submitted By: Mrs L MerrittWithin a 2 mins walk to the beach, (where you can hire a sun lounger all day for 2 euros), bars and restaurants and local supermarkets.
The owners were friendly but did not speak to them much as we had no problems or complaints.
My self and my three boys all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we will be going back next year.

" We stayed at the Andrianna in... "
Submitted By: Mr T LloydThe location is great too. 200m to the great beach and a 10min walk to the centre which keeps it convenient but quiet.
The resort is great. It’s got more quality (not fast food) restaurants than you need for a 14 night stay, eating at a different one every night. Try the Malibu if you want something very authentic village traditional and the Bistro for some traditional Greek and Italian. I don’t think the resort would suit a big group of teenagers, more couples and families.
We will go back and to the Andrianna too.

" My husband and I stayed at the... "
Submitted By: Mrs L BurelliHad a car went to Corfu town, it is very nice. We went to most of the tavernas; all about the same food, was very salty meat and very tough. We have been to most places is Greece and the food is lovely bit not here. Don’t go to the taverna at the end of the road from the Andriana, the owner thinks all English people don’t know what home cooked food is and we only eat from the microwave, very rude.
If the apartments were somewhere other than St Georges I would stay again, but not there.

" For our second year in a row we... "
Submitted By: Mr D BellThe apartments are immaculately clean; offer excellent furniture, bedding and standard of accommodation, and a large cooling fan should you need one (you will!).
The surrounding gardens are obsessively looked after by Andrianna, and the apartments are just far enough off the main road to be peaceful, secluded and serene, but near enough to walk to the main centre.
Kostas and Andrianna are wonderful hosts, who will leave you to it, unless you need anything, and then will resolve any problems immediately.
Their own sun beds on the beach (3 minutes walk) are brilliant, as are the jet-ski's and motor boat (for hire) for the more adventurous travellers.
We found them to be friendly, customer focused and keen to please their valued guests (how often does that happen?).
St-George South (for us) is a fantastic resort, busy enough to provide excitement with a variety of bars and diners (Panorama is the best), but low-key enough to enjoy your own privacy on a secluded beach, should you need the space.
However, we recommend hiring a car or quad from George's to explore the other delights of Corfu (all reachable within two hours), especially the cafes' and shopping of Corfu town.
Of course, it goes without saying, that we will be returning for at least another week this coming year, hopefully to Andrianna.

" My daughter and I stayed at the... "
Submitted By: Mrs K CookeI must say that these apartments are the best I have stayed in St. George. The owners are very friendly helpful.
The apartments were clean modern and in a lovely tranquil spot with pleasant gardens.Maid service every day except Sunday sheets and towels changed every other day. We had a lovely big balcony which had a sea view.
Only draw back there are a few dogs down the road which leads to the main road but they are harmless.
I am certainly going back next year.

" Adding to the comments made by Mrs.... "
Submitted By: Mrs K LambtonAs requested, we were on the top floor at the end of the landing which gave us two balconies - one the side and one to the front - this meant that we had sun at any time during the day which was a bonus when relaxing back at base, particularly on a morning or evening!
The owners were very friendly, courteous and eager to please guests staying in their accommodation. The rental for 2 sun beds and parasol of 6 euro was worth it for comfort on the beach, particularly if you did not wish to go further along the coastline, although there is a deep band of large stones to encounter before being able to walk on a sandy sea bed. If staying on the beach near to the bed hire, I would recommend purchasing some beach shoes which enabled a walk into the sea with ease. At the opposite end of town there was a beach which was more like dunes if you preferred.
The Minuses -
The apartments do not have air-conditioning and upon arriving the first night we did not have a fan. I feel that at least one fan should be placed in your room for your arrival, however, this was resolved the next day without a problem.
The Positives -
Adrianna apartments were situated just out of town but the centre was within 20 minutes slow saunter of the many and very varied bars and restaurants. We would recommend many of the restaurants and bars, however, the best in our opinion was The Panorama where you were welcomed and served in a friendly manner. The food was excellent, was very good value for money; particularly as you sat overlooking the sea view as you dined.
The supermarkets were well stocked, very reasonable and were within 5 mins walk. Each evening we were able to walk into town easily along a path running parallel to the coast line.
If you did not wish to use the beach, we would highly recommend the Hotel Bruskos (signposted to the front of the apartments). A short 2/3 min walk away, this hotel offered free use of a very clean, well maintained pool providing you did not take your own food and drink there. We found the quality of food and drink to be of a high standard, the owners making sure you were happy with your choice and only to willing to oblige you needs.
We would recommend the 'Sundowner' tour offered by Thomson. The guide walking you through Corfu old town was very interesting and enthusiastic and the short cruise along some of the coastline (as you were given a glass of wine) was very relaxing and romantic!
This was our first holiday ourselves without our children who are now grown up and it was very tranquil, relaxing and a very easy transition for us both! To be recommended for couples of all ages.
