Sofitel Mogador Hotel Reviews
" We only stayed one night and that was... "

We only stayed one night and that was under protest! Would not recommend this unless you are French or Moroccan.
Booked via Kuoni as part of twin centre holiday which cost £2000 for 9 night (6 at this Hotel). On arrival we were told that the hotel had no reservation for us and was fully booked the following night. They said we could stay one night but would then have to find other accommodation. This they blamed on Kuoni. The bottom line was that there was a big wedding going on in the Hotel the next day and we got shunted out. The staff couldn't give a damn. We had a confirmed booking with Kuoni which was checked when we rang them from the hotel.
Although the hotel on the whole was good standard they did not cater for English speaking guests at all. The menu was only in French and my wife who is vegetarian would have starved. Fortunately Kuoni found us an excellent alternate at the L'Hure Blue - we tried to book this originally but it was full.
On return Kuoni confirmed the error was with the hotel and refunded a good amount of the cost. Well done to them.
I have since seen other stories of a similar nature at this hotel so be warned.

The food was excellent with a choice of Moroccan, sea food and international (well mainly French) at the 3 restaurants. The menus were in French and English, the translations were sometimes quaint! But no problems in general.
All the staff greeted you with a 'bonjour' in passing. Would recommend the hotel for a quiet peaceful holiday by the sea, with an interesting medina to look around about 5-10 mins walk away, and sand dunes about 30 mins the other way.
