- Advice: You can eat at the Kaloudis but the Brooklis restaurant on the main street is excellent.. ask the proprietor (Dmitri I think) for his questionaire which he needs to be completed to back up his campaign to avoid Arillas being spoiled in the future.

As well as being clean and tidy the owners and staff could not be more helpful. Billy was even prepared to drive people to the cash point in Sidari,as at the time there wasn't one in Arillas. They also went out of the way to go to the butchers for us and supplied curry spices to use, nothing was too much trouble.
Beach had been washed away by a week of storms, but by the end of the following week, it had all been tidied up and much of the sand had returned and the brollys and beds were back out.
The cliff path over to San Stephanos has also suffered from winter storm damage which is a shame as I fear it will now have to be moved back inland a bit.
I would not hesitate in recommending this resort to those looking for a friendly and relaxing holiday.
My thanks to all there.

After being recommended Arillas by several people decided to give it a go. Wished we had gone years ago. Loved everything about it. Kaloudis apartments were great. We knew before we went we would have to pay for air conditioning as this was stated in the brochure. Apartments were cleaned every day. Grounds were spotless and Billy - the owner was seen every morning attending his garden. Two mins from beach and three mins from small little village. Unspoilt we ate out at a different restaurant every night and never had a bad meal - couldn't choose a favourite as they were all good. Hired a car for three days really good deal in the village for 100 euros and explored all the surrounding areas. Hired a boat for the day. Fab holiday and would not hesitate to recommend Kaloudis.

Although the place was clean and tidy it appeared that all at the Kaloudis were out to extract as mich money as they could especially Billy.
Prices in the bar /restuarant and store was dearer than in the town
We were told that air conditioning was included but had to pay 5 Eruos a night extra, 5 euros per day for safe deposit and we even had to pay for toilet tissue.
We left a tip for the cleaning staff but as soon as we vacated our rooms Management went in and took the paper money and left the coins.
It seemed that everything which was essential we had to pay for, very clever we thought.
Arillas it's self was great but we wnont be going back to Kaloudis.

This is our first package holiday for 7 years and with 2 kids. We had a 2 bedroom apartment in the Kaloudis which was great as the kids had their own room. The apartment was much bigger than I expected going on past experience, there were 3 balconies one off each bedroom and another off the kitchen and we had views of the sea and the pool. The apartment was spotless and was cleaned every day with more clean towels than we could use. The kitchen was basic but fine for holiday use with mini oven, fridge and kettle. There was also lots of storage space 2 wardrobes with drawers and dressing table in each of the bedrooms.
The swimming pool area and bar were lovely, the gardens were kept clean and tidy and the staff were working all the time. We tried breakfast, lunch and dinner in the pool bar and although it is small the standard of the food was excellent. They were also more than happy to alter things to acommodate fussy little eaters. Billy's evening entertainment bingo, quiz etc is also worth going to, it's low key good fun and fine for the kids to join in with.
The supermarket on site is well stocked and you can get any bits and pieces you need from there, they had quite a lot of english branded good and although expensive the shop was well stocked and very handy. The Kaloudis is at one end of the resort and was very quiet at night time. On leaving the private drive for the Kaloudis you can go straigh onto the beach so a 2 min walk max. The resort is small and queit but has plenty of good places to eat and a few nice shops. Eating out is a bit more expensive than in the past but this is due to the exchange rate of the £ to the euro, a meal for 4 with drinks cost around 30-50 euros for 4 people. We also hired a car and I did this direct with San Stefanos travel before we left the uk, emailed them and they gave me a quote, no deposit required and they deliver and collect it from the accommodation.
I would recommend this to any family and will go again.
Top tip take plenty of sun cream it costs a fortune there, and some insect repellent as the mozzies were biting!

My husband and i have been going to Arilas for seven years, well this is going to be our eighth time we have stayed at the Galini,Bardos Sun,Kaloudas. The last one was the Kaloudas which we loved so much we are going back in 5 days time on the 22nd May 2009. We love Arilas because it is not spoilt, the people are friendly & make you feel really welcome as soon as you arrive. The Kaloudas is lovely & clean, everybody is so friendly there, we will be booking again when we get home ready for next year. So we will be soaking up the sun again around the pool which may i add is spotless just like the rooms.

I have been back to Kaloudis Village 4 times now. It has a magic and beautiful atmosphere that draws people back year after year. The only reason I didn't go back last year was financial. The apartments are very clean and comfortable and the owners make you feel very welcome. Roula and Chris will go out of their way to help you. The views of Arillas are stunning and the walks are amazing. It's great to walk to the nearby resorts of San Stefanos and San Georges Bay and take in the breathtaking scenery along the way. The feel of the place is unique and you feel the locals are genuinly friendly. You can make your holiday as lively or as relaxing as you like. I can't wait to return later this year,

The Resort: Very quiet and not a great deal to do. Activities seem to be around the beach area. There was a small section for water sports and when I say water sports these were pedelo’s, canoes or the floating slides etc.
There were no motorised water sports as I believe the guy wasn't making enough money so moved on! The beach itself was beautiful. Pure sand, no shingle, long but narrow. The beach gently sloped into the sea which was extremely clear and not too cold to bath/swim in.
Along the top of the beach runs the main road where most of the restaurants are. They mainly seem family run and pretty much all offer a similar menu to each other.
The food was great; we didn't have a bad meal once, although having waited an hour & half in one restaurant, with just a bread roll we decided to pay for just our drinks and leave. That was an exception though.
Meals were reasonably priced i.e. main meals for two with 1 litre of wine approx 25 - 30 Euros, which we didn't think was too bad. Every evening you could have you meal and watch the fabulous sun set over the horizon and never tire of the sight of it.
I would say, this resort isn't for the younger generation and I think they'd get bored quite quickly, although there is a water park trip they could go on elsewhere on the island. Arilas seemed to attract an older clientele who seemed to have returned year after year.
If you did want a little more noise or watch the sport, then there were some bars just up a side street that offered this.
The Accommodation: The Kaloudis is a 2 min walk from the beach and is made up of different blocks of apartments & studios. If you wanted a sea or pool view then you need to book the Kaloudis 1 areas.
We however ended up in the Kaloudis 2 apartments at the back of the ‘village’. The only view we had was of the back of the bar area and some mountains if you craned your neck to one side!
Kaloudis 2 is owned by Billy & Helena and is made up of 9 apartments. Billy also owns the pool bar. The studio itself was quite small, but we have had smaller on other Greek islands. It had two beds, breakfast bar area, wardrobe, and small ‘wet room’.
I think it’s supposed to be your bathroom but it was impossible to keep the floor dry! It was typically basic Greek, although I was impressed with the cooking facility. Even though it was out of the 60’s, you could at least grill toast and heat up croissants, whilst using the top cooking rings! Better than we’ve had in Greece before!
The floors & bins were cleaned daily with sheets & towels replaced every 3rd day. Although I did feel the actual furniture could have done with a wipe down occasionally, not too sure what a particular smell was!
The beds were uncomfortable and sleeping was difficult as the rooms had a half glass entrance door with no curtain over and for some reason it was deemed fit to have an outside light illuminate the whole area. Not sure what that was all about, but the light didn’t switch off until 6am, which made my best sleep between 6 – 10am! Some people jammed towels in their doors to block out the light.
The pool area seemed clean enough, didn’t see any dog doings as others have reported, although Billy still has two dogs and two cats. We didn’t see this as a problem. The gardens were well maintained and they were adding some additional paths whilst we were there.
The prices at the pool bar were slightly elevated than those on the main stretch but I guess you’re paying for convenience. Billy does offer a boat trip on his own boat, not sure how much as we didn’t take him up on the offer.
The evening entertainment starts at 10.30pm until late and was made up of bingo, Greek dancing, pool competitions, and karaoke, quiz night and of course disco! If no-one partakes in any of the entertainment – every night was disco! Or should that be very loud Miss American Pie, Ole the Oke Cokey and YMCA every night! If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it – unless you stay in Kaloudis 2 as you’ve no choice – you’re 10 feet from the back of the bar!!
Overall: The mosquitoes & wasps were a problem despite stinking of bug repellent day and night!
This was my first time to Corfu and I’d definitely return. I’d probably even return to Arilas and maybe Kaloudis, however not for a while and would definitely hire a car to get around the island as the walks are killers! Arilas certainly has something to offer as so many people we talked to had just returned for their 15th time!!

We wanted a last minute getaway holiday for a week and stumbled on the Kaloudis Village.
We have never been to Corfu, so we thought last minute, go on, give it a shot. It wasn't expensive so we didn't expect anything half decent.......... how wrong we were.
What a magnificent place to stay, breathtaking view's over the bay. The host's do their utmost to make your stay a pleasant one. Clean, friendly and accommodating, I am only sorry we had 1 week there and not longer.
Anywhere you go, and the place is stunning, we have found our paradise lost. A definite place to revisit, again and again.
For a first time visitor, go and see this place for yourself, it's absolutely beautiful and so relaxing.
Highly recommended.

This place is paradise on earth. Wonderful people, fabulous food, and beautiful scenery - it has everything you need.
The apartments are well run, extremely clean and well kept and the people who run the Kaloudis Village cater to your every need.
2007 will be our third year there but there are some who have been for 23 years on the run, as it doesn't get any better than this.
If you're looking for a peaceful, fun family holiday, Billy, Helen and their team will make your dreams come true and make sure your holiday is something special to remember. And for those who keep coming back - it is great to be among old friends once again - a real home from home, where instant relaxation hits you the moment you arrive.

we booked this relatively late and had a two bedroom appartment which was lovely. We were two floors up and had views all over the village. The place is spotless and my only gripe was, we arrived late, there was no toilet roll and we had to rely on tissues till the morning. A basic requirement. It would have been nice to find a bottle of water in the fridge but the shop was open all hours and I found he prices no dearer than anywhere else and it was so convenient just to nip downstairs for supplies. I was a bit concerned when a previous reviewer said it was 5 euro per day for the safe, but it was in fact 8 euro per week. 5 euro per day for aircon (8 euro for two rooms)was worth every cent as it was extremely hot on our week. I dont know if it's only late in the year, but the mosquitoes were about which worried some people more than others so its worth taking some good stuff with you. The music by the lovely pool was too loud for me but it did quieten down later in the day. I cant understand why loud pop music is neccessary during the day.
Taxis are expensive as they have to come from neighbouring resorts and there are no buses out after 9am so unless you walk or hire a vehicle its difficult to get out and about apart from booking trips.Ther is n o pharmacy in the village although the supermarkets sell a lot of basic stuff. Our rep Karen was very willing to fetch anything from San Stefano
