" Wont be going again. "
Submitted By: corlett jgPrices in the bar /restuarant and store was dearer than in the town
We were told that air conditioning was included but had to pay 5 Eruos a night extra, 5 euros per day for safe deposit and we even had to pay for toilet tissue.
We left a tip for the cleaning staff but as soon as we vacated our rooms Management went in and took the paper money and left the coins.
It seemed that everything which was essential we had to pay for, very clever we thought.
Arillas it's self was great but we wnont be going back to Kaloudis.
Advice: dont go

" Great family holiday "
Submitted By: WookersThe swimming pool area and bar were lovely, the gardens were kept clean and tidy and the staff were working all the time. We tried breakfast, lunch and dinner in the pool bar and although it is small the standard of the food was excellent. They were also more than happy to alter things to acommodate fussy little eaters. Billy's evening entertainment bingo, quiz etc is also worth going to, it's low key good fun and fine for the kids to join in with.
The supermarket on site is well stocked and you can get any bits and pieces you need from there, they had quite a lot of english branded good and although expensive the shop was well stocked and very handy. The Kaloudis is at one end of the resort and was very quiet at night time. On leaving the private drive for the Kaloudis you can go straigh onto the beach so a 2 min walk max. The resort is small and queit but has plenty of good places to eat and a few nice shops. Eating out is a bit more expensive than in the past but this is due to the exchange rate of the £ to the euro, a meal for 4 with drinks cost around 30-50 euros for 4 people. We also hired a car and I did this direct with San Stefanos travel before we left the uk, emailed them and they gave me a quote, no deposit required and they deliver and collect it from the accommodation.
I would recommend this to any family and will go again.
Top tip take plenty of sun cream it costs a fortune there, and some insect repellent as the mozzies were biting!
Advice: Quiet resort with nice selection of places to eat, lovely sandy beach great resort for families.
Activities: San Stefanos resort and beach, and must go to Paleokastritsa great views, water park for older kids

" The Resort: Very quiet and not a... "
Submitted By: Mrs J AndersonThere were no motorised water sports as I believe the guy wasn't making enough money so moved on! The beach itself was beautiful. Pure sand, no shingle, long but narrow. The beach gently sloped into the sea which was extremely clear and not too cold to bath/swim in.
Along the top of the beach runs the main road where most of the restaurants are. They mainly seem family run and pretty much all offer a similar menu to each other.
The food was great; we didn't have a bad meal once, although having waited an hour & half in one restaurant, with just a bread roll we decided to pay for just our drinks and leave. That was an exception though.
Meals were reasonably priced i.e. main meals for two with 1 litre of wine approx 25 - 30 Euros, which we didn't think was too bad. Every evening you could have you meal and watch the fabulous sun set over the horizon and never tire of the sight of it.
I would say, this resort isn't for the younger generation and I think they'd get bored quite quickly, although there is a water park trip they could go on elsewhere on the island. Arilas seemed to attract an older clientele who seemed to have returned year after year.
If you did want a little more noise or watch the sport, then there were some bars just up a side street that offered this.
The Accommodation: The Kaloudis is a 2 min walk from the beach and is made up of different blocks of apartments & studios. If you wanted a sea or pool view then you need to book the Kaloudis 1 areas.
We however ended up in the Kaloudis 2 apartments at the back of the ‘village’. The only view we had was of the back of the bar area and some mountains if you craned your neck to one side!
Kaloudis 2 is owned by Billy & Helena and is made up of 9 apartments. Billy also owns the pool bar. The studio itself was quite small, but we have had smaller on other Greek islands. It had two beds, breakfast bar area, wardrobe, and small ‘wet room’.
I think it’s supposed to be your bathroom but it was impossible to keep the floor dry! It was typically basic Greek, although I was impressed with the cooking facility. Even though it was out of the 60’s, you could at least grill toast and heat up croissants, whilst using the top cooking rings! Better than we’ve had in Greece before!
The floors & bins were cleaned daily with sheets & towels replaced every 3rd day. Although I did feel the actual furniture could have done with a wipe down occasionally, not too sure what a particular smell was!
The beds were uncomfortable and sleeping was difficult as the rooms had a half glass entrance door with no curtain over and for some reason it was deemed fit to have an outside light illuminate the whole area. Not sure what that was all about, but the light didn’t switch off until 6am, which made my best sleep between 6 – 10am! Some people jammed towels in their doors to block out the light.
The pool area seemed clean enough, didn’t see any dog doings as others have reported, although Billy still has two dogs and two cats. We didn’t see this as a problem. The gardens were well maintained and they were adding some additional paths whilst we were there.
The prices at the pool bar were slightly elevated than those on the main stretch but I guess you’re paying for convenience. Billy does offer a boat trip on his own boat, not sure how much as we didn’t take him up on the offer.
The evening entertainment starts at 10.30pm until late and was made up of bingo, Greek dancing, pool competitions, and karaoke, quiz night and of course disco! If no-one partakes in any of the entertainment – every night was disco! Or should that be very loud Miss American Pie, Ole the Oke Cokey and YMCA every night! If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it – unless you stay in Kaloudis 2 as you’ve no choice – you’re 10 feet from the back of the bar!!
Overall: The mosquitoes & wasps were a problem despite stinking of bug repellent day and night!
This was my first time to Corfu and I’d definitely return. I’d probably even return to Arilas and maybe Kaloudis, however not for a while and would definitely hire a car to get around the island as the walks are killers! Arilas certainly has something to offer as so many people we talked to had just returned for their 15th time!!

" We wanted a last minute getaway... "
Submitted By: Miss HoneypotWe have never been to Corfu, so we thought last minute, go on, give it a shot. It wasn't expensive so we didn't expect anything half decent.......... how wrong we were.
What a magnificent place to stay, breathtaking view's over the bay. The host's do their utmost to make your stay a pleasant one. Clean, friendly and accommodating, I am only sorry we had 1 week there and not longer.
Anywhere you go, and the place is stunning, we have found our paradise lost. A definite place to revisit, again and again.
For a first time visitor, go and see this place for yourself, it's absolutely beautiful and so relaxing.
Highly recommended.

Submitted By: Mrs J FaddenThe apartments are well run, extremely clean and well kept and the people who run the Kaloudis Village cater to your every need.
2007 will be our third year there but there are some who have been for 23 years on the run, as it doesn't get any better than this.
If you're looking for a peaceful, fun family holiday, Billy, Helen and their team will make your dreams come true and make sure your holiday is something special to remember. And for those who keep coming back - it is great to be among old friends once again - a real home from home, where instant relaxation hits you the moment you arrive.

There is a shop on site and the beach is less than 5 minute walk, would advise walking over the hill to San Stefanos one day if you are feeling active(beach is lovely)
Locals are all very friendly and there are some lovely places to eat including the bar at the Kaloudis Village. Helena’s Greek Salads are the best my husband has had.
Would highly recommend the resort!
