Submitted By: pandosThe hotel is really good if you have mobility problems as there are loads of lifts to all levels, although it is quite a hill up to the main road so beware. The food was fantastic throughout our stay. I did hear brits complain, I'm afraid there are people who still expect to get pie and beans everywhere they go. Loads of fresh fruit, salads and seafood which was so good. Loads of chicken pork and beef too so don't worry. We loved La pineda for the seafood and the local bus service is reliable and pretty cheap.
Port Aventura was a good trip take a bottle of water or two with you a poncho for the water rides and if there is any more than four of you get a taxi 10-12 euros well worth it. That said the bus takes you right into the entrance.
Advice: Would go back in a flash
Activities: Port Aventura and La Pineda
Good for: Beach
" nice family holiday "
Submitted By: heather.laxton@ntlworld.comWe found the hotel to be excellent value. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. We had fantastic sea views across the bay of Salou from room 216 on floor two.The hotel felt safe and secure, something we were very happy with for our two boys aged 5 and 8.They would have been happy to spend every day in the lovely pool. The pool area was enclosed, and both pools were well maintained.A short walk of a few yards and you were on the beach, which also felt secure. The sea was shallow and the beach was clean with pedalos 10euros per hour.. A short walk from the hotel was a small funfair and surrounding pubs and restaurants, also a couple of hotels we wandered into, one a four star, good but no better than the Cala Font. We were glad to have gone full board as meals out, based on 1 euro 1 pound were very expensive. The meals at the hotel were varied and well presented, i thought there was plenty of choice for everyone. One critisism was you could only get water tea or coffee at breakfast. Any other meal you had to buy drinks including water. However, all in all i thought everything was more than acceptable .
We have stayed in more expensive hotels and not had such a good time,.The hotel was good value for money. The beds were on the hard side but not to bad.
Tips.....do not change your money at the airport either end. If you plan on going to Port Aventura ,get your tickets before you leave England. If you buy 14 day passes the dates dont run consecutively so you can sell them when you get home. We went twice. Its a great day out. If you buy tickets on the day its 66 euros. Also express tickets come in handy as the queues are long.
Advice: you can walk into Salou along the beach, takes about half an hour
Activities: La Pineda was lovely

Submitted By: Miss SJ MichaelsThe beach is just across the road from the hotel and is coved so great for keeping an eye on the kids. It is nice and you can hire loungers and sun covers these are expensive though loungers were 4 euro and the sun cover 6 euro. The only negative about the beach is it could do with a clean as there were alot of cigarette stubbs about the place.
Out from the hotel you can walk right into cap salou village which is pleasant with a couple of restaurants dont recommend food at The Paddock though, route 66 was better. There is a supermarket and a pharmacy. On the night we spent most of our time at Mickey's bar with Kims kareoke, quiz and play your cards right, where we always had a good time and the bar staff their are all lovely making you feel very welcome. Its also very cheap with two for one on all drinks from 7 through to 9.30pm.
To the left of the hotel you can catch buses to lots of areas inc Salou centre, La pineda and Barcelona. Buses are very regular and reasonably priced also. As a trip i def recommend the fountains in Barcelona they were beautiful. Aquapolis is a fun water park in La pineda and you can swim with sea lions but on top of your entry fee the park is very expensive.
Overall we had a good time. It is a holiday on the more relaxed side and we felt two weeks was maybe a bit too long as we were ready to come home a lot earlier. As long as you keep your expectations real any family should have a good time if visiting this hotel and destination.

Submitted By: Mr J EversfieldHotel is kept very clean and tidy, the bathroom was a decent size with bath, shower, toilet, bidet and a big sink unit with a huge mirror. The walls are thin and you can hear next door having a shower but you are in a hotel, the floors are tiled so noise is to be expected I suppose, and you are kept awake by all kinds of noises.
The food on the whole was good, most of the British people complained!! but we found it good except at breakfast there were beans!! beans!!! beans!!! (no grilled tomatoes) was the same every day!!!!! has for evening meals we found them to be excellent with a wide variety and choice !!!!!
The small shop within the foyer has the most pleasant shop owner I have ever come across and probably the cheapest for gifts to take home.
The beach at the hotel is nice to look at fine sand etc Other nicer beaches are close by. the bus station is just up the road and buses regularly go into Salou for 1.75 euro. also buses to other destinations, including Barcelona.

Submitted By: J L GuardThe Entertainment is not pleasing at all. If the hotel is providing entertainers then they should atleast be good. For entertainment, me and my family had to walk down to the small tap bar across the road, where the entertainment is a lot better.
At the hotel there are a lot of Russian people, which i didn't have a problem with, but that all depends on your opinion. There wern't a lot of English people there.
The Staff were friendly, but the one thing was, the cleaners. If your expecting a lie- in (Sleep till 11 am) then i wouldn't bank on it as the cleaners just walk into your room with their key and wake you up at about 8 in the morning, and thats everyday!
Overall, i wouldn't recomend this hotel for anyone staying full board or inclusive as in my opinion, i didn't like it.
Thanks for taking the time to read, i'm just sharing my opinion with you to make sure you choose the right hotel/apartment.

Submitted By: Mrs S GrayThe food was good, with plenty of choice. Even I managed to find something and I am really quite fussy. Only problem was the fact you can only get a brew at breakfast time, and I'm not used to only running on one cup of tea a day! The time bands for meals we're brilliant and we never felt rushed to get to breakfast/dinner and we took advantage of being able to swap our dinner ticket for a lunch on a few days. For those with babies they had microwaves availiable in the dining room so no need to worry about heating meals/sterilising bottles!
The staff were all lovely, and especially friendly to our children. We didn't really use the entertainment or mini club as our children are only 1 and 4, so can't really comment on it.
We found plenty of stuff for us to do and never visited the same area more than once. The area is hilly but that is the same for the majority of Spain. If you need to go anywhere definately take the bus. They are never more than 15minutes apart on the way to Salou/Cambrills/Port Aventura and La Pineda. We did do the walk into Salou which with the children took about 45 minutes there but only about 30 back as it was all down hill, it was a little tiring but well worth it for some of the views were just beautiful.
Cap Salou itself was perfect for us. Our son loved the play park at the Tap House. Mickey's Bar has a kareoke and quiz most nights which was really enjoyable. There were plenty of "supermarkets" to choose from for bits for lunch, and bottles of water!
All in all we had a brilliant time and would definately go again!

We had such a good time we returned this October and stayed in a four star hotel in Cambrils. How we wished we had returned to the friendly Cala Font where the receptionists are so polite and friendly. Cala Font deserves to be a four star hotel as the staff know how to treat customers. The only disadvantage to this hotel is that it is probably not suitable for people who are not very mobile.
Advice: Cap Salou is the opposite to Salou. Cap Salou is peaceful whereas Salou is bustling with people.
Activities: Trip to Barcelona and Montserrat
Good for: Beach
