This Hotel was generally clean and well looked after.
There was a group of us travelling which included 2 under 6. We all booked together and requested to all be next to each other or at least on the same floor. When we arrived we were all on different floors miles away from each other! The reception staff are extremely rude and only understand what they want to, they would never get away with customer care that way in England!
The rules and regulations to this hotel are ridiculous! You are not allowed and inflatables in the pool or pit pat or any fun like that, oh however they do allow you to bomb, backflip and dive and do really dangerous stuff in the pool to make up for it. It was like being in Germany regarding the sun beds, we had to get up at 6:30 to put our towels out to get a bed.
The restaurant was nice, good food choice, however some staff were a little rude at times. The Spanish are the rudest, one morning we came for breakfast and had a table for 8, 2 people stayed to look after the table. Next a rude Spanish family came and sat at our table and started eating their breakfast!!! We had to physically remove them from the table as they "didn't understand" be warned guard your table with your life!!!
The entertainment was ok, the children's disco played the same 4 songs every night, but the staff were really good with the kids. Warning do not buy drinks in the bar at the hotel its extremely expensive. It cost 6.50 euro for Bacardi and coke! A bottle in the shop cost 11 euro!. We bought our own and sneaked it in!.
This hotel is really noisy you can hear everything going on in the next room, the corridor, above and below you! Don't think they have heard of sound proof.
I would certainly not recommend this hotel to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

Both my friend and I were looking for a 2 week break in the sun and were recommended by First Choice to try Salou, a place that neither of us had been to before.
We arrived in the early hours of the morning and were welcomed by a friendly man at the reception desk, the place looked very clean inside, although outside, the building could have done with a lick of paint. It looked a bit dirty!
We stayed at the Belvedere for 2 weeks and were promised that we would have our bed sheets changes 2 times a week, I don't think they were changed at all in the 2 weeks we were there. We did, however, have clean towels every day!
The First choice rep, was excellent at her job. She was primarily based at the Hotel and was easy to find if we had any problems or queries. She recommended the Barcelona trip and the Cruise of the Costa. Both trips were worth the money that we spent on them.
The resort of Salou is a family orientated place. Both my friend and I are in our mid twenties, so initially we were thinking that maybe this was not the place for use to spend 2 weeks. However, we got speaking to our rep and a few people in the bars and they told us the places to go after twelve in the night. For the rest of the holiday we were up until the early hours of the morning partying. Great Nightlife!
Portaventura is also worth a visit. I would recommend that you get your park passes before you leave for Salou. They are much cheaper. We had a 14 day pass for the price of a 3 day pass. The light show, shown at mid night in the park is well worth a look.
I would definitely recommend Salou as a great holiday place for people of all ages. I wasn't that keen on the Hotel Belvedere, the food was not that nice, and I was a little bit shocked at the hotels choice of menu (Rabbit!!??).
The entertainment was worth a look at the hotel but there was a much better choice of bands and other entertainment outside the Hotel. I would recommend Danny Boy's for family entertainment and 007's was also a good place to party.
Salou is a lovely resort, although having holidayed there for 2 weeks, I don't think I would return. Think we did and saw everything in the 2 weeks that we were there!

This is a wonderful hotel! I've stayed in some four star hotels that wouldn't come anywhere near the standard the Belvedere did and its rated 3 star! The rooms have two queen size beds and are cleaned daily we had a triple room so had a single bed as well, which was a little cramped but we weren't in the room for much time apart from to sleep so I didn't mind.
The hotel has a wonderful pool area plenty of loungers but not too many parasols though which was a little annoying as it was over 30 degrees most days! But very clean and pleasant, plus there is a life guard on duty all the time. The only negative is that they close the pool area at 7pm, which is a little annoying, as most evenings the weather was great at this time of night! Oh and you are not allowed inflatables in the pool. Fair enough I hate them anyway, plenty of room to swim :o
Food was TOP CLASS. Freshly made pancakes and omelettes in the morning and 3 meats in the evening all cooked in front of you.
The animation staff were excellent and spoke Spanish, French and ENGLISH!!! So there are no excuses for not joining in with the pool games etc!! Ana and Marc are stars and made my daughter so welcome I had no problems with them at all, the games are not just for Spanish people as I've read here before!!!
I've read so many reviews about how the hotel is full of foreigners, this is partially true but everyone we met were lovely, in fact the only people who annoyed us were some lairy English louts! The Europeans are very well behaved and polite!
I'd go back to the Belvedere for many reasons, top class food, clean rooms and pool and jacuzzi area, great location!!! 2 mins into centre of town and beach and Port Aventura! and lovely staff..

We booked this holiday one week prior to arriving and after reading some of the negative reviews about the Belvedere within that week, we were a bit wary of what to expect. However, on arriving we were promptly seen to by friendly efficient reception staff.
The bedrooms/bathrooms were spotless and had been modernised to a good standard (much higher than some 4* hotels in Spain). We did have to ask reception to change one of the bedrooms as it had 3 beds instead of our request for 2 beds and a cot. This problem was resolved within an hour of arriving.
We got clean towels every day and the bed linen was changed twice in one week. We only used the hotel bar once for a pre-dinner drink as it was quite expensive and the waiter took 10 minutes to serve us even although there was no queue. Needless to say he didn't get any tip.
The food was good for a 3* hotel and the dining room staff were very efficient so we always managed to get a clean table without queuing for it. We always dined early and managed to get a table by the window for our party. Only on one occasion we had to sit in the middle of the dining room and it was like feeding time at the zoo.
The hotel was not to blame for this - it was the mentality of some British parents who sat and watched their children climb over and bang their chairs into other guests so that they could get to the food before anyone else.
These same parents let their children run riot from the reception area through to the dining room not caring who or what they knocked over.
Although the hotel overall is very well run, we would not recommend visiting it within school holidays.

Myself and 2 children found the hotel clean, we had 3 beds pushed together in a room which made it difficult for myself with the middle bed. Food okay if a little bland. Seems a lot of French and Spanish holiday makers staying there, as a result a massive argument broke out between the British and French one evening in the outside bar area.
Had no chance of getting a sunbed as they are "reserved" in the early morning. Again there was arguments as some holiday makers only used the sunbeds for a few hours but left their towels on all day.
The pool and surrounding area isn't big enough for the amount of guest staying there. Hotel staff seem an unhappy bunch and we often found their service in the canteen and bar on the slow side. Evening entertainment was dire.

I recently returned from a weeks holiday at the Hotel Belvedere in Salou.
The hotel was good, very clean. The rooms were nice. Restaurant and food was excellent!
Only let down was the entertainment, there was something on every night but it was aimed more at the Spanish than English.
The hotel was in a great location, about 10-15 minutes walk to the beach, with loads of shops, bars and cafes to pass on the way.
Great bus service, buses running all the while.
I would definitely return to salou and stay at the Hotel Belvedere.

We have just returned from the Belvedere and here is the truth! First impressions are not great, it looks a tad outdated.
The staff, however, seemed nice and happy to help, the room was clean and has everything you needed with the maid coming to clean your room everyday!
It was hard to get a sunbed around the pool unless you were up at the crack of dawn to put your towel out; we tended to wait till late afternoon to get a space.
The crazy golf was nice and the organised activities had things like aqua aerobics every morning and rifle shooting.
We didn't eat that much in the hotel, but from what we had it was ok, a person cooks omelettes in the morn, and it’s mainly a buffet style restaurant.
The hotel is about 5-10 mins walk from the beach, 2 mins to the main street and about 5-10 mins walk to portaventura (which is fantastic!!!).
I would recommend this hotel for a cheap relaxing break away!

After 1 night in a poor hotel we asked at loads of hotels for 9 night vacancies.
The Belvedere was the only one that could take us for the full time and after asking an English couple who were staying there what the hotel was like, we paid and moved to this hotel. And we were so glad we did.
The room had 2 double beds. A decent hairdryer (which is a bonus in 3 star), and the linen was changed twice whilst we were there which should happen but doesn't always.
Daily towel change is the norm. Anywhere. The floors weren't swept well in room or corridor but that's the only negative point I can find.
The food was fantastic and had better choice than a 4 star up the road which we stayed in last year. Carvery, barbeque, and hot plate with a choice of 3 meat and 1 fish cooked fresh or 2meat and 1 fish dish in the usual deep trays. An Italian area for pizzas etc. salads, fabulous puddings the list goes on.
Breakfast was just as good with omelettes (3 fillings allowed here, at 4 star only one) pancakes and all the usual stuff.
The entertainment was geared to the older Spanish clientele which made sense because they filled the outdoor area and to be honest we've never had good entertainment at any hotel we've stayed in. Self catering complexes seem to be better for that.
There's bars everywhere within easy reach but the hotel was quiet after midnight which was great. We've been to Salou 7 times and we'd definitely stay at this hotel again.
The pool area had beds crammed together but we started stacking 2 to make a space.
It must be an English thing because on the beach people were nearly on each other’s towels to be near the sea.

Food is good. The hotel is clean but not for young couples or families.
Hotel is full of Spanish and are very arrogant. Salou is amazing but this hotel doesn’t live up to what you have probably been told at the travel agents.
Families and couples beware!

We stayed at the Belvedere Hotel for 7 nights, after booking a last minute deal to Spain.
The hotel was in a good location, a 10 minute walk to Port Aventura, and close to the resort centre and the beach.
We arrived at the hotel in the early hours of the morning and received a pleasant welcome and swift check in. We were in a party of 4 and had rooms next door to each other.
The rooms were a good size, with two queen size beds. In our room the fixing for the shower was broken so it wouldn't attach to the wall but after reporting it at reception it was fixed within an hour. The only thing missing from the rooms was a mini fridge to store drinks.
The hotel food was nice, always a large selection for both breakfast and evening meal. On no occasion did I ever find that the food was cold. You can even get the chefs to cook up things in front of you. I have to say that sometimes it got a little busy at mealtimes, but we always managed to find a table together straight away. The waiters spoke a little English and were always pleasant.
The pool was a nice size; there was a smaller area for children too. Both pools were always clean and there was a lifeguard on duty every day. There were always plenty of loungers around the pool. The spa area was fantastic, the Jacuzzi was massive, and it’s definitely worth a look.
We didn't really see much of the hotel entertainment as we tended to go into the resort on evenings but from what we saw there was a lot of traditional Spanish entertainment and it was good. There were also daytime programmes too, such as keep fit classes, darts, bingo etc.
We had a late flight out of Salou and were unable to get a late checkout room but we were provided with fresh towels from reception for a shower in the gym suite. As the suite was nice this was not a problem at all. We were even able to have evening meal in the hotel that evening.
There were a lot of Spanish people at the hotel and the majority of the time they were pleasant, always saying hello and goodbye in the lifts. I would recommend to anyone learning how to say hola & adios.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who likes a home from home. You get a traditional Spanish feeling at the Belvedere. However, even if you don't enjoy the atmosphere in the hotel there is one of many British bars on the first corner from the hotel!

My friends and I have just returned from the Hotel Belvedere in Salou...a week earlier than we should have returned!
The only decent thing about the hotel was the rooms which were basic and clean.
There was no variation in the food and we lived off pizza and chips the whole week we were there. When we would enter the restaurant at dinner time we would get dirty looks and were even pushed around by the other guests, the majority of which were elderly Spanish women.
The staff treated us with the same manner and could barely speak a word of English! One night we went out for a drink and returned to the hotel at 1:30am the man at the reception would not open the entrance doors for us and when he did he proceeded to shout at us in Spanish and followed us up to our rooms to tell us we had one more warning or we would be thrown out! When we complained to our first choice rep (who was only there for 3 hours day) she was very unhelpful.
As we are all 19 we don’t have any kids but if you did go to this hotel with kids, don’t expect much! There was absolutely no entertainment or games during the day and we were told by another guest the kids club was “a woman sitting in a dark hut who couldn’t even speak English".
Basically, this is a very unwelcoming, rude; boring hotel which is only interested in catering for is Spanish guests over 60!
If it hadn’t been for the porta ventura theme park we would have left after a day!

After booking our holiday at our local travel agents we made the mistake of looking up the hotel online and reading some of the reviews, which were complaining about the rooms, the food and the staff.
Our actual experience was the complete opposite of what we expected.
The room was clean and tidy with all the facilities you would expect for the price. It came with an en suite bathroom and a terrace. The room was air conditioned (adjustable via a dial on the wall) and came with a phone and television. Safety deposit boxes were available for an extra €30.
A good number of towels were provided and changed daily if required and the beds were made up nicely and the sheets changed twice weekly. Our only moan about the room is that one day they didn't make up the beds, but it wasn't a major problem.
The food was fantastic - we couldn't believe that people had complained about the variety on offer! For breakfast you had the choice of a number of sliced meats and mild cheeses, warmed bread rolls, bread, toast, brioche etc. then on the next table you found the traditional continental bits including croissants, pain au chocolate, and a number of other pastries along the same lines which were very nice but we don't know what they were called!
The next table had the traditional English breakfast bits which weren't quite the same as back home, but they were a close approximation. The choice here was scrambled egg, hardboiled egg, mini frankfurter sausages, streaky bacon, cooked tomatoes (not canned ones), and baked beans.
There was fruit juice, tea, and coffee to drink and there was also a selection of fruit and yogurt.
The dinner was a selection of salad, pasta salad, rice salad, and potato salad. A selection of bread rolls. 4 or 5 different meat dishes with potatoes, rice and veg as well as fresh baked pizza, chips and some form of meat in bread crumbs. The deserts were a range of tasty cakes, jelly, fruit etc. The restaurant staff were very friendly and were always able to find us a table.
The only downside is that drinks weren't included with dinner but at €4 for a bottle of wine it wasn't too much of a problem.
The staff were very polite and helpful at all times. Had great fun chatting to the barman at the poolside bar who was trying to help me with my Spanish - I've never really had a flair for languages but they seemed pleased that I was trying!
The pool, steam room, and jacuzzi were lovely and although there were rules about inflatable’s etc. in the pool they were usually overlooked if these were not causing a problem for other pool users.
The resort of Salou is brilliant and we would highly recommend it - especially the fountains on the seafront in the evenings - one of them you can walk through a tunnel of water and another is a maze of fountains you can walk through!
From Salou we were able to go on a jeep safari through the mountains which was the highlight of our week - the guides are absolutely brilliant and although it’s a guided tour they make it light-hearted and fun.
Overall a great holiday - great resort - great hotel.
