This was one of my favourite places to stay in Paphos. It is in a great location tucked in with all the trees and greenery, very private and peaceful even though it is located near all the bars and restaurants. This was one of the best features of this place as it is in the... more

I think this was a fabulous place to stay, very small and friendly. Its in the centre of about 100 restaurants and some clubs but is tucked away amongst a lot of greenery. You hardly notice it is there. As for youngsters stumbling in, I hadn't seen any! This was a truly... more

This has got to be the noisiest hotel in Cyprus The location is absolutely terrible! There is no way you will get a wink before 3 o clock in the morning when the bars close. And then, by 4 o clock the drunken teenagers come stumbling in, waking everybody that wanted a... more

The 4th time my wife and I have stayed at the Dionysos (sometimes called the Dionysos Central) and once again we found it to be a great little family run hotel. The hotel has 3 floors with the deluxe rooms on the third floor some of which have a pool and sea view there is... more

Not bad....not bad at all
We have just returned from a last minute week away and stayed at the Dyonisos and believe me, I was worried after reading some of the reviews. No, it's not to the standard that we usually book, but if you have booked to stay here.....DON'T WORRY. The location is great for night life, restaurants or just a walk along the harbour if that's what you enjoy. You will NEVER have to get up at 6 to beat the Germans to the sun loungers and parasols as there are plenty. In fact the maximum amount of people by the pool on any one day during our... more
super location
I have just returned from a week at the Dionysos on a bed and breakfast basis. The parts of the hotel I saw have had a refurb since my last stay a few years ago and everywhere was clean and most things worked. The buffet breakfast had an excellent selection and tables were always cleared promptly. The outside areas were very pleasant but the pool water was quite murky and there was debris in the bottom. I stayed in 212 which was over the kitchen so quite noisy and no view apart from tree branches and a flat roof. The wooden shutters needed... more
Cyprus experience
We have just returned from a two week stay here, and overall were quite happy with the hotel. Normally we would have stayed at one of the quieter places away from the town but, due to health reasons, I needed not to have to walk too far. After reading some reviews just before we left for Cyprus, I was very apprehensive, as we are used to self-catering in very good accommodation. While it was obvious that the hotel could do with a paint job, it is the end of the season, and we were happy with the cleanliness of the room we were allocated.... more
Good location
This hotel is ok but it's crying out for a refurb!! I stayed in hotels 15 years ago which were more modern than this hotel is now! However if all you're going to do is sleep there it's ok. We did have breakfast at the hotel which wasn't great. A few simple changes to this hotel could make all the difference. Great location though, just a 5 min walk to the harbour and 10 mins along the front to sandy beach. 1 min from Bistro vienna-great restaurant not to be missed.
What a terrible holiday !
Well, where do I start ! the reception area of the Dionysos looked ok, although some of the furniture had seen better days, when we reached our room, I could'nt believe it, the bathroom was dirty there was long black hairs in the sink and the toilet seat had ingrained brown marks on. The shower head would not stay on the stand, it had to be positioned just so and not touched. The ceiling was black mould and they had tried to disguise it with white paint. The bedside tables had not been wiped and there was thick black dust on the top of... more
Avoid the noisy rooms and youll have a great time!
My boyfriend and I spent two weeks at the Dionysos in August and had a lovely holiday. I have to say i dont agree with some of the previous comments-ok its not luxury but it has everything you need for a comfortable stay and the location cannot be beaten! The only major problem we suffered from was problems due to Thomsons. On arrival(7.5 hrs late due to technical difficulties with Thomson plane!) we were allocated our room on the second floor-having read previous comments on noisy rooms i thought we had got lucky-but not quite!Our... more
Don't expect too much
We have just come back from 2 weeks at the Dionysos Hotel. Our first impression of the hotel was quite good unfortunately it went downhill from here! The rooms are incredibly small, upon arrival the room we were allocated had a funny smell and faced out onto the main road, however we contacted the manager and he did move us the following day to a quieter room on the other side of the hotel but it was still very small. The biggest problem with the hotel is the cleaning, although the maids do clean each day the whole hotel could do... more
very noisy
Have just returned from ten days at the Dionysos Hotel in Paphos Cyprus. The hotel itself is clean and the staff very friendly but because it is situated close to bars it is difficult to get any sleep. The best thing to do is upon retiring at night close the shutters as well as the balcony doors, the air conditioning is very good and not too noisy.Cant speak for all the rooms but ours wasnt especially clean even though the cleaners did their best. The carpet could have done with a good clean and the shower was feeble, it was a trickle one... more
The Truth...
We have just returned from a weeks half board at the Dionysos and are ready to spill the beans... no it wasnt that bad! The hotel was lovely and was situated in a fantastic place if you like nightlife. We were the next street down from where all the bars/restaurants were and although it was noisy when you walked along the strip when you shut the balcony doors in your room, it was peace and quiet. The staff were fantastic and very helpful but the big downside was the food. I have never regretted going half board so much in my life. Whilst... more
Avoid the disco wing
Right in the town centre. The positives were friendly, helpful staff, many from Eastern Europe; good breakfast buffet; clean and tidy; handy for the Café Royale, by far and away the best watering hole in Paphos for the 50-somethings. An excellent Indian restaurant 50 metres away. The negatives concern the position. One wing juts into the night-club and diso heartland of Paphos; if you are really unlucky on room allocation you will find yourself 20 metres away from three bar/discos pumping out music at 120dbs until the small hours. You... more
