Nina Studios

Went into shock in Volos when my lady and I saw the number of people and cars boarding the Ship to head to Sciathos and Skopelos, as we normally holiday on remote beaches and Islands with only the two of us leaving footprints on a beach. Luckily most people and cars got off in the port of Sciathos.
On seeing Skopelos town from the sea I nearly had a second heart attack, so claustrophobic, and hills unwalkable!
In shock we arrived by a two minute taxi ride to Ninas studios to be greeted by a very charming and beautiful Nina. My partner explained that we can only stay 2 nights instead of 5 nights as the place is too crowded for us to really relax, as we are not used to holidaying with so many people.
Nina showed us the roomy studio, which was basic but very clean. The cleanliness almost calmed down me down. The very large balcony, enough room for 20 people, with views to to the rising Olive Groves on two sides and the sea to the south calmed me again. The Mediterranean style gardens with many fruit trees below the balcony are lovely.
As Ninas Studios are a twenty minute walk from the town, it was really handy to have a supermarket 150 metres away with plentiful cheap fruit to have for breakfast on the balcony, instead of eating fat food in a restaurant.
We only took the bus to the beach once; most times we walked for 30 minute to a secluded and beautiful clean beach, pass the tourist beach, over the rise, and into 2 little bays with only a few people coming after lunch.
Nina, and, her partner George, allways with a ready smile would give us information about anything we needed. The genuine friendliness made one feel they were lifetime friends. We felt at home.
We love to walk, and Nina explained the Island is so safe, and dog free, that even quiet young girls walk up the country lane very late into the night. We allways walked back from the town after a very late dinner & a good bottle of Greek wine, as is the custom on the island.
Sitting on our Balcony under the star filled night sky was another joy, with the only sounds the strange call of Owls, as we enjoyed desert of local Peaches and sweet cold wine.
We love simplicity and cleanliness, and, friendly people like Nina and George, we will book next year in September instead of August to have even fewer people.
