The Sea Horse is a family run hotel and has a perfect location right on the edge of the small harbour.
The simple continental breakfast is taken outside the hotel, right on the waters edge overlooking the little fishing boats bobbing up and down on their moorings. Hear the chatter of the locals enjoying an early morning coffee and using their komboloi (worry beads).
You have to pinch yourself when looking at the view from your balcony: Go upside down and you can actually look out to sea (and the land beyond) whilst in bed!
Excellent value for money, go there soon, before they realize just how much they could really charge for this experience!

My partner and I have just returned from a fabulous two weeks in Molyvos, Lesvos and have nothing but praise for the Sea Horse Hotel and Dimitries and his friendly, hard working staff. The hotel is beautiful and the view from our balcony was breathtaking. Our room was a generous size and clean with the beds made daily and towels and bedding changed pretty regularly.
Our board status was B&B, which was a continental breakfast with tea or coffee and fruit juice, bread, croisants and jam plus a 3 day rota of processed cheese, hard boiled egg or yogart & honey. It was predictable but adequte but the service was impeccable. On several occcasions we also had dinner there, which was excellant and felt that the hotel should promote this more, rather than be primarily known as a stop off in the evening just for snacks and deserts.
The town beach, near the Olive Press had very large pebbles and the water always seemed to be choppy, especially in the afternoon so not great for swimming or snorkelling. Far better to catch the bus to neighbouring Eftalou (to the east) or Petra and Anaxos (to the west)...only costs 1.40 euro each, no matter how far you went, apparently and it's only 10 minutes to Eftalou and Petra and a further 10 to Anaxos. You can even walk to Eftalou or Petra, which we did a few times. Thi8s takes about an hour but the scenery for most of the journey is stunning. We also went one day to Anaxos and another day did the boat trip on the Mercury (right outside the hotel, infact owned by the hotel) to Skala Sikaminias. The flora and fauna on the island is stunning and I took many a picture of captivating flowers, exotic butterflies and the odd lizard scampering along (that's the lizard, not us).
Food wise, we could not fault any of the meals we had as the food, service and ambience in each restaurant and taverna we visited was excellant.
However, one taverna deserves special recognition because we had two wonderful lunches there and ate far too much out of sheer pleasure! This little place is in Petra. It is called Sunset and overlooks the beach opposite the orange sunbeds and umbrellas (which patrons of the Sunset can use free all day). Sandwiched between a taverna/cafe called "Eden" and a car rental place, Sunset proudly advertises its dishes made from produce from the owners' farm and other locally sourced produce. Antonia Detropoycoy, who runs the taverna with her husband, speaks excellant English (as do most of the islanders) and actually teaches German. I highly recomment the home-made vegetable moussaka. Our second meal there consisted of mezes....the fried zuccini flowers were wonderful!
This will be a holiday fondly remembered and it is our intention to return one day after we've explored other Greek islands.
