On first impression of the hotel, we were impressed, it all looked new, although we weren't sure whether it was going to be painted in the not too distant future, as it looked like plaster coloured. We stayed in a Junior Suite (room 605) - with a sea view, and away from the pool. This was a very quiet room, and of very high standard, especially for Greece! There were 2 showers in our bathroom, one over the bath, and a separate cubicle, with proper screening, so the floor stayed dry!
the room itself, you could not fault at all, and the air con was a great bonus.
The hotel itself, has a new and an old part, we were lucky to be in the new rooms, as we heard moans about some of the older rooms, not being half as nice as ours. The Food was very good - always something for everyone, and not your typical Brit food - plenty of choice of drink too, and never queues!
The entertainment left a lot to be desired to be honest, in the day was ok, but there wasn't anything at night that would keep me there - the only good night being the BBQ, and folk dance evening, which was typically Greek, and really lovely - i think this is something which they could perhaps improve on.
The resort itself is very traditionally Greek, and the harbour was lovely, with an abundance of bars and restaurants, should you wish to venture from the hotel.
All in all a pleasant holiday, and it was very hot!

Fantastic holiday!
We stayed in a Junior Suite on an all inclusive basis. The main hotel has been recently renovated and has had several new blocks built which are of a very high standard. Rooms are of a particularly high standard with loads of extras - i.e., don’t take towels you’ll have an abundance of 100% cotton towels for beach/pool and room use which are changed every other day. Also included were toiletries, slippers, fruit, water, soft drinks and beer, sewing kits etc. etc. etc. All rooms (so I believe) had a flat screen TV with sat channels (including Sky Sports and Cartoon Network) and PC with email and internet access.
The food is of a very high standard with lots of choice at each meal - particularly meat - numerous roasts etc and drinks dispensers (soft, beer and wine) in the dining room which you can help yourself to.
The staff are particularly friendly and any problems seemed to be dealt with very quickly and efficiently.
The resort is very `Greek` and although very small is particularly scenic and charming. The harbour is good for the kids - feed the ducks and the fish!
The daily entertainment has a bit of something for everyone i.e., water polo, football, aqua aerobics, boules, pool etc with friendly non-pushy staff - not at all the annoying reps one usually comes across!
Mind the temps though - was in the 40`s in May/June and by all accounts was touching 40 overnight last August!
In all a fabulous holiday enjoyed by all - would suit anyone wanting a high quality, relaxing holiday with particularly luxurious extras!
Have already booked to return in October!

We stayed at Hotel Vassia Beach in Síssi for the two weeks, we were in Crete. The hotel is small, but has its own pool, a restaurant and a terrace overlooking the ocean. The rooms were clean, the pool not too crowded (although we went to the beach most days) and the staff were very friendly.
Síssi is a wonderful, small village with a nice, little harbour and a few tavernas and bars. The Pink Flamingo deserves a special mention for its food and very friendly owner. I would also recommend walking up to Epáno Síssi for a meal at one of the tavernas up there.
We found a few small beaches close to Hotel Vassia Beach, but mainly used the small beach of Avlaki, which is a 20-minute stroll from Síssi harbour towards Epáno Síssi. Boufos beach is a little closer, and you can rent sun beds there, but it is not as private as Avlaki.
Síssi is not for the party-hardy people (yes I do mean “hardy” not “hearty”), but was perfect for the type of holiday we wanted, which was somewhere where we could unwind, go for a swim, have romantic meals, laze about, but have easy access to the rest of Crete.

We visited Vassia Last September and we LOVED it!!!!!! Best holiday ever! the people were so friendly and lovable especially Vasillias who served us Greek salad everyday...service with a big smile!! :D our room was amazing, it left us with great memories...ROOM 208!!! the owners are extremely courteous and are always there to help. The main Vassia bar was always a really good laugh, the bar staff were lovely... (George and Mario).
The town itself was full of very friendly people, very welcoming. Interesting souvenirs available...
We have brilliant memories of Kera bar, had great times dancing on the bar with Yargos and Christos (DJ and owner) Yianni served top cocktails :D and Remezzo was great for dinner, Daniel and George were very friendly and good crack.
Ice cream was lush. Great breakfast from the local bakers on our journey home at 6am!
We had an amazing holiday and are booked for July '06 so see you all soon ;-) CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!! we'd definitely recommend it to anyone!

Great holiday but no beach to speak of. Met really great people. George at the Pink Flamingo is a real gentleman and the Sissi Arms is the dogs for a good bevy. Adoni should be a Scotsman. Might go back if they develop a better, bigger beach. Self catering facilities were a disappointment but there are plenty of places to eat out. Lovely pool and friendly staff especially Stephanos and Marcos. Try to avoid the cats and dogs, once they attach to you their hard to get rid of. Water is safe to drink and so is the Raki.

A very friendly and hospitable place. The area is very beautiful and scenic. Even though generally a quiet place does not stop you having fun and making your own noise!
It is a very family and couple orientated place but they do welcome groups of holidaymakers with the same open arms as any one else.
The food was of a very high standard and catered for every kind of needs from those who want their traditional English brekkie to those who are a bit more adventurous and are tempted to try something a bit different.
The staff at Vasia Beach were the best! They made everyone feel equally welcome and nothing was too much trouble! Every member of staff was friendly and always had time for a wee chat!
The pool, bar and restaurant were run very efficiently and were very clean and hygienic-as were our apartments!
The people we met when we were on holidays were also very friendly and the majority of them had been to Vasia before ,(some as many as four times!!).
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a chilled out holiday! I know we’ll be going back next year!-look out for us, we’ll be the ones propping up the bar at 3am when George is trying to go to bed!!

After visiting many Greek islands over the years this was our first time in Crete.
On Greek standards the Vasia can be described as luxury! Fantastic rooms included air conditioning, safety deposit boxes, hairdryer and a shower over a bath with a shower curtain, unlike the usual wet rooms! They are kept exceptionally clean by the courteous cleaning staff.
Vasia is set on the seafront with a terrace overlooking the sea, ideal for those pre dinner drinks watching the sunset! Inside there is a very comfortable bar with split level restaurant. Meals are to a very high standard and a very good choice.
The pool area is lovely, plenty of loungers and parasols, and a pool bar also serving snacks. The view of the nearby mountains just adds to its serenity.
The owner George and all his staff - Mario (Maz), Maria and Georgy are extremely friendly and insure that you have a stress free holiday, nothing is too much trouble!
Vasia is approx 5mins walk to the small fishing village of Sissi, where you will find a selection of traditional shops and many tavernas overlooking the pretty harbour. There is no beach (apart from a small manmade area), however beaches are accessible following a rocky path for about 20 mins.
We were so impressed with both Vasia and Sissi when we visited in June, we came home and booked to go back a few weeks later (August).
I would recommend this holiday to people seeking total peace and relaxation. Suitable for older couples and families with young children, If you’re looking to party this is not the place to be!

These apartments have been recently refurbished to a very high standard and deserve 4 stars, not 3! The rooms are very well equipped, more like a luxury hotel than self-catering. There is a very pleasant bar and restaurant and an excellent, large swimming pool with bar serving snacks.
The standard of cleanliness was high and the staff pleasant and helpful. The management have obviously put a lot of thought and effort into creating first class accommodation. Sissi itself is also very pleasant but not ideally suited to teenagers or small children who might not find enough to do. We loved it and would recommend it to anyone who likes a relaxing holiday in picturesque surroundings.

This place was well below my expectations. The rooms were clean and tidied regularly but the shower head had no holder, you had to use your own hand instead.
Also the bath was nothing more than a deep shower tray. You could not have a proper bath or a proper shower, this was true of the second room we booked for our friends.
The quality of drinks offered were poor, you are served you’re drinks in disposable plastic cups holding about 150ml of your chosen drink, not much if your on larger, and if they put a head on it its the equivalent of 100mls of beer, basically if you want a drink everybody gets 4 each at a time to compensate for the small cups. The drinks are served very erratically, one bar guy was openly firing his drink dispenser from the hip, he wasn't pleased when I asked if I could get a full cup instead of a frothy half one.
The food is o.k. if you like queuing up, reminded me of being back at school actually. The other guests were scary too, I was convinced they were androids all programmed to look like they were happy, bit like the film the Stepford Wives. Sissi is a dump, there is no decent beach and the village has little to offer.
I know I sound like I am being negative but I think you should hear about this place from another perspective before booking.
