myself and my now husband and four children stayed at the windmill bay apts just recently we went to zante to get married and chose the windmill bay because it had great entertainment for ourselfs and the children which was not the case all it had was a swimming pool which the kids had to be out of by 7 oclock which you wouldnt mind if there was anything else to do there was a broking pooltable and 2 computors which were alot of the time broke or there would always be a teenager on maybe because there was nothing else and 2 computors between all the guests is madness.there was no shows for the kids as they advertise and no table tennis and no games there is also no kids club no entertainment for adults i spent 2 weeks there to get married as i said and half way threw all i wanted to was go home if you like been bored and have your kids cryin all week because of having nothing to do go but otherwise stay away it cost all in all 2 thousand euro for flights and accomandation and it wasnt worth it at all i ws very dissapointed and upset this is were i chose to stay and if i knew and could turn the clock back i would most definitley change my mind i felt i needed to write this review as there adverts are very misleading and the truth should be told as people spend alot of money to go on holidays and enjoyment which you wont have here. sinead philip and kids ireland

In the Windmill apartments there is a great disparity between some apartments & others. The 1 we spent our holiday in was of a low standard, poorly maintained, not 3 star. They moved us to another room because we were on a night flight & paid to keep a room on, this 1 was of a much, much higher standard. The apartment we had to cope with ruined our holiday. No information of reps attendance on site. Please be aware that as a resort for couples/ families, I would not reccomend. There is NO beach whatsoever, very difficult to move outside the resort- no pavements alongside road. Many groups of young teenagers enjoying cheap alcohol & quadbikes, not as bad as Laganos but not far off it.

This was our 6th year to Argassi and Windmill Bay; it is the most beautiful setting with the sea beside the pool. We have returned to the same venue so many times due to the wonderful service we receive, Effie the hotel receptionist ensures that all our needs are met, Maria at the pool bar makes wonderful breakfast and lunch. The owners and their family take very hands on approach in the running of the apart hotel. The pool and sun lounging area is very scenic with a beautiful pool and a baby pool for the little ones. This apart hotel is situated in the village Argassi and is a 5 minute walk into the main area where all the restaurants and bars etc are located, it’s nice being close to all the amenities but also nice to be away from any noise or passing trade.
We hire a scooter each year, this year we hired from a place opposite the Green Frog, they were very competitive and very helpful, we explored the island, it is very beautiful with some breathtaking scenery, beautiful beaches and friendly locals. In past years we have visited the water park, which is close by, but didn’t get a chance to go there this year.
Our favourite restaurant over the years is Papillion (beside Zorbas) the food and service is always excellent. We also enjoyed a meal at Granada and Green Frog amongst others; these were good and reasonably priced. We had a meal in Premier which is opposite the supermarket Best, this too was very good.
The Dr whose practice is opposite the supermarket Best is Dr Katerina and she is wonderful, very knowledgeable and very thorough, I would definitely recommend her if you are unfortunate enough to need to see a Dr whilst in Argassi.
I would recommend this location for families with children of all ages, the apartments sleep 5 comfortably. The apartments have a bedroom, separate lounge room, separate kitchen/dining area and bathroom and a balcony which looks out over the pool and sea. Both the bedroom and lounge have separate doors out onto the balcony so you don’t have to disturb any of your family asleep in the lounge. The apartments are well equipped with everything you need in the kitchen to cook breakfast, lunch & dinner. Their sister apart hotel (which is 5 minutes up the road) is also beautiful and has studios rather than apartments.
In the past we have flown with Thompson from Gatwick, Luton and Birmingham, we flew with Thomas Cook this year from Birmingham and didn’t enjoy the flight; the seats were extremely cramped, if you are taller than 5ft 8 you will be wedged in your seat for the flight!! We find it best to book the flights independently and email Jenny the owner of Windmill Bay to book accommodation, cuts out the middle man. Easy jet now also flies from Gatwick to Zane. On holidays the first two weeks in September and found the acc to be of a high standard, all apartments had sea views and where cleaned daily with bed linen and towels changed every 3/4 days, the pool area is well run with a good snack bar operating, unfortunately there is no beach, but a taxi ride (12 euro)to ST Nikolaos beach(lots of music and water sports)or the much more sedate Plaka beach is only 15 minutes away, all the staff at Windmill bay are helpful and very plesant and will go out of their way to sort any problems for you.
The main strip is a 10 minute walk with a good selection of restaurants available, but be careful when walking as the paths (when available)are very narrow, and uneven, as for local drivers!!!!!, I recommend a visit to Zorbas as we had some very good nights there. and for breakfast try Ruby's. Overall we had a very good holiday in Argassi and will revisit soon.
Ps: the Greek night on mondays organised by Eiffe is good value and well worth attending.
Ps eile: another worth while trip when dinner is finished is the Cave bar in Kalamaki which is only 10 minutes away in a Taxi

just back from a fantastic stay , my husband and i , both agree we could live in our apartment , it was large ,clean with awesome views of the sea and zante town. Staff great, and thanks to effie for letting us keep our rooms a bit later. met some wonderful irish friends, ate often in The green frog, great food, very reasonable price , execelent service, from mandy, emeal and nikos.
Thanks to costas and martine in Legends, had some great nights there on kareoke. Water park good day out ,just
make sure of return bus times, missed ours due to misleading info, so 15 euro in a taxi. Would definately return in a few years without the 2 hour delay outbound and 4.5 going home

Just got Back from 2 weeks in Windmill Bay Apartments, no point in leaving a long review, believe all the reviews from everyone else, Agree with all the comments, this Aparthotel has it all for a great hotel in a nice resort must score 10/10, you have to try Zorbas, awsome greek cuisine and Premier which are probably the best restaurants in town for service, friendly atmosphere and great food and wine.

This was our fifth year staying at windmill bay, and again we had a fabulous holiday. The accommodation consists of a bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom and a lounge which converts into sleeping accommodation for three, there is also a spacious balcony with a table and chairs. the accommodation is very clean, maid service every day where every 2 days you have fresh bed linen and towels. The overall resort is kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. we arrive into Zante airport and get a taxi to the resort, this costs between 15-20 euros. he main village is a 5 minute walk from your accommodation, so you have the advantage of being in the middle of the night life and also having a quiet holiday. the staff at windmill bay are all very friendly and helpful. the food is excellent, especially breakfast. the resort is shaped in a horseshoe, which makes it both private and safe. all the apartments have a pool and sea view. there is a large swimming pool, a baby pool and a few steps further and you are in the sea. I cant recommend windmill bay highly enough. If you want a super relaxing holiday with nightlife optional, want a safe environment for your family in a beautiful clean setting, then windmill bay in Argassi is for you. we will shortly be booking up for next year.

Hotel is stunning. The room is very clean and all furnishing etc very good. We paid an extra 60 Euros for the air conditioning but it was well worth it as the temperature was in the mid to high 30s the whole time we were there (end of June to 10th July 2008) and we paid the extra 25 Euros for the safe deposit box although we never felt once that there was any threat.
The only fly in the ointment was that we felt a bit robbed when we took up a tour with one of the local operators (Peter) on the island. We paid for the half day boat trip from Zante harbour to the Shipwreck (20 Euros each) which was supposed to take in a tour of the Blue Caves with a 2 hour swim and sunbathe at the wreck. They didnt tell us until we were well on our way in the boat that we would have to pay extra for the Blue Caves tour (extra £18 Euros in total...bit of an expensive day out by now) and we would not be stopping at the Shipwreck. We had booked only for a half day cruise because we were a bit burnt by then but they changed it to a full day and there is nothing you can do cos you cant get off! When we went back to complain to Peter he didnt want to know so its probably better if you stick with the Tour Operators trips.

I stayed at the Windmill Bay Apartments, for my hen party, an loved every minute of it, i would defo recommend it to anyone, the Apartments were lovely the best i have ever stayed in. Most of my holidays to Zante have been nice but basic, so this was a great surprise. If you want somewhere to drink try the beer academy, an somewhere to eat try the Green Frog they are both great.

i took my mother here for her first ever holiday abroad and what a treat we got, the rooms are lovely and clean the hotel staff are increadablly nice and go out of there way to make sure you have everything which you may need, we had a problem with small black bugs in the room i told the lady (eiffe) on reception at 11 am and by 11.15 the cleaners had come to the room and sorted the problem out, we stayed there for two weeks and had no further problems, the food there is lovely and very reasonably priced, the pools are very clean and not to cold either which was lovely as all the other pools i have been in at greece are usually freezing!!!! i would highly recomend this hotel to anyone staying in argassi, we have booked to go again in 2009 and i cant wait!!!

We have been holidaying in Zante, and generally Argassi, for 20 years and the Windmill Bay Hotel on the beach in Argassi is the best hotel we have stayed in to date. True there is no beach at this end of the resort but the hotel and its staff were excellent. Effie made us so welcome on our arrival, at the poolside snack bar Maria and Christina are lovely and fun - you must try one of Christina's milk shakes. The room was brilliant, even the bedroom had a balcony. The swimming pool was sparkling. For the older guests this hotel is too far from the centre of Argassi to walk. We will return to Windmill Bay Hotel for our next holiday.
