" Mr M Reynolds "

On holidays the first two weeks in September and found the acc to be of a high standard, all apartments had sea views and where cleaned daily with bed linen and towels changed every 3/4 days, the pool area is well run with a good snack bar operating, unfortunately there is no beach, but a taxi ride (12 euro)to ST Nikolaos beach(lots of music and water sports)or the much more sedate Plaka beach is only 15 minutes away, all the staff at Windmill bay are helpful and very plesant and will go out of their way to sort any problems for you.
The main strip is a 10 minute walk with a good selection of restaurants available, but be careful when walking as the paths (when available)are very narrow, and uneven, as for local drivers!!!!!, I recommend a visit to Zorbas as we had some very good nights there. and for breakfast try Ruby's. Overall we had a very good holiday in Argassi and will revisit soon.
Ps: the Greek night on mondays organised by Eiffe is good value and well worth attending.
Ps eile: another worth while trip when dinner is finished is the Cave bar in Kalamaki which is only 10 minutes away in a Taxi

" just back from a fantastic stay , my... "

just back from a fantastic stay , my husband and i , both agree we could live in our apartment , it was large ,clean with awesome views of the sea and zante town. Staff great, and thanks to effie for letting us keep our rooms a bit later. met some wonderful irish friends, ate often in The green frog, great food, very reasonable price , execelent service, from mandy, emeal and nikos.
Thanks to costas and martine in Legends, had some great nights there on kareoke. Water park good day out ,just

make sure of return bus times, missed ours due to misleading info, so 15 euro in a taxi. Would definately return in a few years without the 2 hour delay outbound and 4.5 going home

" Just got Back from 2 weeks in... "

Just got Back from 2 weeks in Windmill Bay Apartments, no point in leaving a long review, believe all the reviews from everyone else, Agree with all the comments, this Aparthotel has it all for a great hotel in a nice resort must score 10/10, you have to try Zorbas, awsome greek cuisine and Premier which are probably the best restaurants in town for service, friendly atmosphere and great food and wine.

" This was our fifth year staying at... "

This was our fifth year staying at windmill bay, and again we had a fabulous holiday. The accommodation consists of a bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom and a lounge which converts into sleeping accommodation for three, there is also a spacious balcony with a table and chairs. the accommodation is very clean, maid service every day where every 2 days you have fresh bed linen and towels. The overall resort is kept to a very high standard of cleanliness. we arrive into Zante airport and get a taxi to the resort, this costs between 15-20 euros. he main village is a 5 minute walk from your accommodation, so you have the advantage of being in the middle of the night life and also having a quiet holiday. the staff at windmill bay are all very friendly and helpful. the food is excellent, especially breakfast. the resort is shaped in a horseshoe, which makes it both private and safe. all the apartments have a pool and sea view. there is a large swimming pool, a baby pool and a few steps further and you are in the sea. I cant recommend windmill bay highly enough. If you want a super relaxing holiday with nightlife optional, want a safe environment for your family in a beautiful clean setting, then windmill bay in Argassi is for you. we will shortly be booking up for next year.

" Hotel is stunning. The room is very... "

Hotel is stunning. The room is very clean and all furnishing etc very good. We paid an extra 60 Euros for the air conditioning but it was well worth it as the temperature was in the mid to high 30s the whole time we were there (end of June to 10th July 2008) and we paid the extra 25 Euros for the safe deposit box although we never felt once that there was any threat.
The only fly in the ointment was that we felt a bit robbed when we took up a tour with one of the local operators (Peter) on the island. We paid for the half day boat trip from Zante harbour to the Shipwreck (20 Euros each) which was supposed to take in a tour of the Blue Caves with a 2 hour swim and sunbathe at the wreck. They didnt tell us until we were well on our way in the boat that we would have to pay extra for the Blue Caves tour (extra £18 Euros in total...bit of an expensive day out by now) and we would not be stopping at the Shipwreck. We had booked only for a half day cruise because we were a bit burnt by then but they changed it to a full day and there is nothing you can do cos you cant get off! When we went back to complain to Peter he didnt want to know so its probably better if you stick with the Tour Operators trips.

" I stayed at the Windmill Bay... "

I stayed at the Windmill Bay Apartments, for my hen party, an loved every minute of it, i would defo recommend it to anyone, the Apartments were lovely the best i have ever stayed in. Most of my holidays to Zante have been nice but basic, so this was a great surprise. If you want somewhere to drink try the beer academy, an somewhere to eat try the Green Frog they are both great.

" i took my mother here for her first... "

i took my mother here for her first ever holiday abroad and what a treat we got, the rooms are lovely and clean the hotel staff are increadablly nice and go out of there way to make sure you have everything which you may need, we had a problem with small black bugs in the room i told the lady (eiffe) on reception at 11 am and by 11.15 the cleaners had come to the room and sorted the problem out, we stayed there for two weeks and had no further problems, the food there is lovely and very reasonably priced, the pools are very clean and not to cold either which was lovely as all the other pools i have been in at greece are usually freezing!!!! i would highly recomend this hotel to anyone staying in argassi, we have booked to go again in 2009 and i cant wait!!!

" We have stayed at Windmill Bay for 3... "

We have stayed at Windmill Bay for 3 years in a row and will be going back there in July 2008. The accommodation is excellent, very clean. The pool and bar area are also clean, the bar area offers a wide range of foods, breakfast is a must. The village of Argasi is a 5 minute walk from the accommodation, there are many fine places to eat, I would definately avoid the 3 Brothers resaurant, we had a meal there and it was dreadful. The Green Frog is great for food and has a quiz night on a Tuesday which is good fun. The staff at Windmill Bay are very helpful and friendly, there is no where else I would rather be. If you book independently you can get a taxi outside the airport and it costs approx 13 euros to Windmill Bay.

" We had a great time the weather was... "

We had a great time the weather was very hot we lay by the sea all day and went in to the town in the evening. The lack of foot paths was a bit off putting especially at night.

The apartments where very nice and the views where amazing. The staff where very nice and help full.

The food at the snack bar was great and cheap. The food in the green frog was great and the molly Malone’s pub was great it had a great atmosphere and the staff where very friendly and the music was great.

" Superb apartments. Spotless clean.... "

Superb apartments. Spotless clean. Maid service every day. Lovely, clean pool area, very well maintained with excellent views.

Pool bar served excellent snacks and drinks with wonderful staff that were very helpful. Close to local restaurants and shops, although the road in front of apartments was very busy, so take care.

You could literally walk into the sea from the apartments, although there is no beach to speak of, and a bit rocky to start off with underfoot....a road train runs to Zante town 3 times a day, which is always worth a visit.

Would also like to mention the green frog restaurant in Argassi, well worth a visit.

" Just arrived back from Argassi... "

Just arrived back from Argassi (Zante) Weather not bad for this time of year. Thunderstorms for a couple of days but when the sun shone it shone, around 26 degrees.

We stayed at the Windmill Bay Apartments ( not studios ) what a wonderful place, everything was perfect, the apartment was basic but spotless, the pool area was clean, and oh what a view, every room looks straight out to the sea.

The staff were friendly, the room was serviced daily, (clean sheets once a week, towels & bins every day).

Meals at the pool snack bar were ok, reasonably priced, English breakfast was ok about 4.50 euro, lunch about the same, local beer drinkable, spirits around 4 euro, crisps 2 euro, ice creams 4 Euros The prices weren’t much different outside the complex.

The nearest supermarket was about 5 mins away sold the basics. Car hire was about £45 for 4 days, worth it to see the island. watch it the locals drive like mad men.

Restaurants were dishing out roughly the same stuff, we ate at the Green Frog mostly, but tried the Greek place nearby, wouldn’t recommend it, pricy and not a good menu selection. Also tried Ruby’s, they did quite a nice breakfast, Legends was the place to watch the rugby.

Not a lot of entertainment, most of the places were shutting up for winter, if you want a quiet holiday go early in the year or late. To shop go to town.

Beware the pavements, none existent, you walk on the road most of the time. Take care with youngsters. Don`t attempt to walk to Zante Town, We Did, Not worth the risk, take a cab or the train ( 5 Euros for a return trip).

The airport is undergoing a facelift, you land at the new bit, depart at the old bit ( what a dump ) long queues outside, nowhere to sit, facilities none existent, Toilets dirty and smelly wait till you get on the plane.

Overall we had a relaxing break, wouldn’t go again we`ll try the main land next time.

" First time to Zante, been eager to... "

First time to Zante, been eager to go, as I have heard nothing but great things about it, and about this resort in particular.

So when we arrived at the hotel, 1st impressions were WOW! The location of the hotel was spot on...! Really nice... The hotel was visually beautiful inside AND outside, really nice.

The staff were nice, friendly, polite, and helpful. All rooms cleaned regular. Awesome hotel to spend the perfect holiday in.

The pool was the ideal size, nice to relax on one of those days for stress free. If you have kids, plenty of things to keep them entertained.

Overall this hotel is really nice. One of the best I've stayed in.

" The holiday to windmill bay was... "

The holiday to windmill bay was fantastic! I would advise that you don't go in any of the following months June, July and August as they were in the 40's.

There is no on site shop so you will have to walk to town, this will take 5 to 10 mins but go before 12:00 because this is when it becomes really hot.

The first night we got there we went to the 12 Gods restaurant the food was ok but there wasn’t much selection, then for the next two evenings we went to the restaurant behind Mollys mini golf the meals were delicious they had two areas to sit and they had musical entertainment every night.

We then went to a restaurant called The Premier, we went to a Chinese and Indian restaurant really dear and not very nice, then on the last night we went to the Piccadilly it was very cheap and the food was fantastic and the portion was.

During the day at Windmill bay it was boring because there was no games room but if you like a beach holiday it was great because all you had to do was walk down about 8 steps and you can go into the sea, during the day pool and sea were really warm, the rooms were small but had a double balcony and they had a Fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster overall the holiday was fantastic.

" We stayed at the Windmill Bay the... "

We stayed at the Windmill Bay the first two weeks in June; we should have been staying in Kalamaki but were moved on arrival at the airport.

All the disappointment vanished when we saw the Windmill Bay, having been to different Greek islands and staying in different types of accommodation this was by far the best.

The apts are very spacious and spotlessly clean, we had clean towels about 4 times a week, the double balconies are great, and all have sea views.

The staff are all lovely, Effi, Panos, Spiros and Eleanor, they will go out of their ways to help you.

Hire a car, as there is so much to see and do on Zante.

If you carry on past the apts and out of the town you come to Port Zorro, St Nichs, and Gerakas beaches all really beautiful.

Head towards Zante town and you can turn off for Kalamaki, we went twice and were lucky to see lots of loggerhead turtles swimming just off the beach... hire a pedelo.

All in all we really enjoyed our holiday and would definitely go back to Zante and the Windmill Bay... Oh and before I go, I had the best Lamb Kleftico ever at the Papillion restaurant you must try it...
