We had a great time the weather was very hot we lay by the sea all day and went in to the town in the evening. The lack of foot paths was a bit off putting especially at night.
The apartments where very nice and the views where amazing. The staff where very nice and help full.
The food at the snack bar was great and cheap. The food in the green frog was great and the molly Malone’s pub was great it had a great atmosphere and the staff where very friendly and the music was great.

Superb apartments. Spotless clean. Maid service every day. Lovely, clean pool area, very well maintained with excellent views.
Pool bar served excellent snacks and drinks with wonderful staff that were very helpful. Close to local restaurants and shops, although the road in front of apartments was very busy, so take care.
You could literally walk into the sea from the apartments, although there is no beach to speak of, and a bit rocky to start off with underfoot....a road train runs to Zante town 3 times a day, which is always worth a visit.
Would also like to mention the green frog restaurant in Argassi, well worth a visit.

Just arrived back from Argassi (Zante) Weather not bad for this time of year. Thunderstorms for a couple of days but when the sun shone it shone, around 26 degrees.
We stayed at the Windmill Bay Apartments ( not studios ) what a wonderful place, everything was perfect, the apartment was basic but spotless, the pool area was clean, and oh what a view, every room looks straight out to the sea.
The staff were friendly, the room was serviced daily, (clean sheets once a week, towels & bins every day).
Meals at the pool snack bar were ok, reasonably priced, English breakfast was ok about 4.50 euro, lunch about the same, local beer drinkable, spirits around 4 euro, crisps 2 euro, ice creams 4 Euros The prices weren’t much different outside the complex.
The nearest supermarket was about 5 mins away sold the basics. Car hire was about £45 for 4 days, worth it to see the island. watch it the locals drive like mad men.
Restaurants were dishing out roughly the same stuff, we ate at the Green Frog mostly, but tried the Greek place nearby, wouldn’t recommend it, pricy and not a good menu selection. Also tried Ruby’s, they did quite a nice breakfast, Legends was the place to watch the rugby.
Not a lot of entertainment, most of the places were shutting up for winter, if you want a quiet holiday go early in the year or late. To shop go to town.
Beware the pavements, none existent, you walk on the road most of the time. Take care with youngsters. Don`t attempt to walk to Zante Town, We Did, Not worth the risk, take a cab or the train ( 5 Euros for a return trip).
The airport is undergoing a facelift, you land at the new bit, depart at the old bit ( what a dump ) long queues outside, nowhere to sit, facilities none existent, Toilets dirty and smelly wait till you get on the plane.
Overall we had a relaxing break, wouldn’t go again we`ll try the main land next time.

First time to Zante, been eager to go, as I have heard nothing but great things about it, and about this resort in particular.
So when we arrived at the hotel, 1st impressions were WOW! The location of the hotel was spot on...! Really nice... The hotel was visually beautiful inside AND outside, really nice.
The staff were nice, friendly, polite, and helpful. All rooms cleaned regular. Awesome hotel to spend the perfect holiday in.
The pool was the ideal size, nice to relax on one of those days for stress free. If you have kids, plenty of things to keep them entertained.
Overall this hotel is really nice. One of the best I've stayed in.

The holiday to windmill bay was fantastic! I would advise that you don't go in any of the following months June, July and August as they were in the 40's.
There is no on site shop so you will have to walk to town, this will take 5 to 10 mins but go before 12:00 because this is when it becomes really hot.
The first night we got there we went to the 12 Gods restaurant the food was ok but there wasn’t much selection, then for the next two evenings we went to the restaurant behind Mollys mini golf the meals were delicious they had two areas to sit and they had musical entertainment every night.
We then went to a restaurant called The Premier, we went to a Chinese and Indian restaurant really dear and not very nice, then on the last night we went to the Piccadilly it was very cheap and the food was fantastic and the portion was.
During the day at Windmill bay it was boring because there was no games room but if you like a beach holiday it was great because all you had to do was walk down about 8 steps and you can go into the sea, during the day pool and sea were really warm, the rooms were small but had a double balcony and they had a Fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster overall the holiday was fantastic.

We stayed at the Windmill Bay the first two weeks in June; we should have been staying in Kalamaki but were moved on arrival at the airport.
All the disappointment vanished when we saw the Windmill Bay, having been to different Greek islands and staying in different types of accommodation this was by far the best.
The apts are very spacious and spotlessly clean, we had clean towels about 4 times a week, the double balconies are great, and all have sea views.
The staff are all lovely, Effi, Panos, Spiros and Eleanor, they will go out of their ways to help you.
Hire a car, as there is so much to see and do on Zante.
If you carry on past the apts and out of the town you come to Port Zorro, St Nichs, and Gerakas beaches all really beautiful.
Head towards Zante town and you can turn off for Kalamaki, we went twice and were lucky to see lots of loggerhead turtles swimming just off the beach... hire a pedelo.
All in all we really enjoyed our holiday and would definitely go back to Zante and the Windmill Bay... Oh and before I go, I had the best Lamb Kleftico ever at the Papillion restaurant you must try it...

We stayed for a week in 2 one-bedroom apartments (4 adults).
The apartments are very spacious and are designed to be able to sleep up to 5 adults.
They are well equipped, clean, and bright. As one of the apartments was at the end, we had 2 balconies – one from the living area overlooking the pool and the other from the bedroom benefiting from predominant sea-view and side view of the pool.
We recommend that extra Euros 60 per week per apartment should be spent on air-conditioning. There are separate air-conditioning units in the living room and the bed-room so different temperatures can be set as desired.
Effi and Panos (the reception staff) were very friendly and helpful. On our arrival, Panos gave us a warm welcome and escorted us to our apartments and showed us how everything worked.
There is a daily maid service and the apartments are cleaned thoroughly twice weekly. The towels are changed twice weekly.
There is a pool snack bar which is open for breakfast through till late. The food is good and there is an excellent variety of dishes at very reasonable prices. The bar staff are very accommodating for any special dietary requirements as we discovered being vegetarians. Russ, the barman, was always cheerful and helpful.
Windmill Bay Aparthotel is situated on the Zante coast – you walk into the sea just going down 8-10 steps. However, the beach is very pebbly. After 2 metres of walking into the sea, pebbles disappear the sea-bed is sandy.
We recommend you wear either flip flops or wet shoes (which can be purchased locally for Euros 6). The water is crystal clear and it is shallow for quite a distance so you can walk into the sea.
A Greek night is held once a week at Windmill Studios, the sister Aparthotel to Windmill Bay, to which all the residents at Windmill Bay are welcome. We had an enjoyable night with Greek food and traditional dancing and again, for a reasonable Euros12 per adult you can get lots of food, wine, plus entertainment.
Windmill Bay Aparthotel is 5-10 minutes’ walk from the main resort of Argassi where there are a number of bars, tavernas, restaurants, and shops. Most restaurants serve a mixture of Greek and European cuisine. There are also a couple of Indian and Chinese restaurants.
We can definitely recommend Papillion restaurant which serves stone-baked pizzas. The supermarkets, in addition to stocking everyday groceries, also offer a foreign exchange service as does Windmill Bay Aparthotel. The exchange rate tends to be better than that obtained in the UK.
Cash is the accepted method of payment. For credit/debit cards, 2% commission is charged by the local banks in addition to any other charges made by the card issuer.
Car hire can be arranged through several rental companies in Argassi but prices vary, so it is best to shop around. We would recommend hiring a car to view the island. Cruises around the island can be arranged locally and are good value for money.
We would like to thank Jenny and her husband (the owners of Windmill Bay Aparthotel) for a lovely holiday we had. We would definitely stay at Windmill Bay Aparthotel again and recommend it to anybody looking for a peaceful and relaxing place to stay but not far from night life and restaurants.

Stayed at The windmill Bay Apartments in August 2006, travelled with 3 children and we all loved it.
The Apartment was spotlessly clean, the staff very helpful, food at the bar was great, lovely part of Zakynthos & we would love to come back again. We did hire a car for a week & drove around the Island which is beautiful.
The only fault was the times of the flights from Cork Ireland, we arrived in Zakynthos at 6.30 a.m. & totally exhausted, it took 2 days to recover, also the flight back to Cork was very early in the morning, I think we were picked up by coach around 4 am.
The complex was always kept very clean, & the staff were very willing to help, they even gave us a pushchair for our Toddler -no charge.
We also found some lovely restaurants nearby. Also enjoyed The Greek Night at Windmill Hotel.

We stayed for a week, self catering. When we arrived we received a very friendly welcome and was immediately escorted to our apartment, where we were shown how to use the air conditioning (payable locally - I think it cost about 60 Euros for the week). I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw, not only the size of the apartment, but how bright, clean and well furnished it was. We had two balconies; one from the living area, overlooking the pool and sea, and one from the bedroom overlooking the sea and side view of pool.
There was a pool bar where you could order breakfast, snacks and meals. We had a breakfast, snack and evening meal whilst there, and could not fault the food at all. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is about a 5 - 10 minute walk from the centre (depending on how fast you walk), where there were plenty of good quality tavernas, and plenty of opportunity to do shopping. There is also an excellent mini golf course on the way from the hotel to the centre of Argassi - there are actually 3 courses on the same site, ranging from easy to moderately difficulty to more difficult, but whichever one you play on (and we played on all three, more than once!) you will have a very enjoyable time, it is a good laugh and great fun! there is also a very good restaurant behind the golf course, which is well worth a visit - we had an excellent meal there.
We went on a few organised trips, which were all thoroughly enjoyable, however, I would recommend hiring a car to view the island at your own pace as there are lots of very interesting places to visit.
I would definitely stay at the Windmill Bay Apartments again.

We stayed here in late summer 2003. I found it on the internet and booked directly for about £40 per night. The hotel is great with all rooms having great sea views. They all have air conditioning and are well appointed, and cleaned well every day. The Pool is very nice and there is a small kids pool too.
Staff were also very nice.
The hotel was brand new in 2003 and is at the far end of town and away from all the noise!
I recommend hiring a car and taking trips round the island as there are some great things to see. Some of the roads are a little 'exciting' if you don't like heights!

The apartments were very clean and spacious. The staff were very helpful at all times as we travelled with 2 young children. The holiday rep was very friendly and gave us good information on tours suitable for a young family. Over all we were very satisfied with every element of our stay.
Also the staff guided us to nice restaurants every evening. I would recommend the Windmill Bay APPARTMENTS TO ANYBODY SEEKING A QUITE FAMILY FRIENDLY HOLIDAY.

We have stayed at Windmill Bay for 3 years in a row and will be going back there in July 2008. The accommodation is excellent, very clean. The pool and bar area are also clean, the bar area offers a wide range of foods, breakfast is a must. The village of Argasi is a 5 minute walk from the accommodation, there are many fine places to eat, I would definately avoid the 3 Brothers resaurant, we had a meal there and it was dreadful. The Green Frog is great for food and has a quiz night on a Tuesday which is good fun. The staff at Windmill Bay are very helpful and friendly, there is no where else I would rather be. If you book independently you can get a taxi outside the airport and it costs approx 13 euros to Windmill Bay.
