Pothos Apartments

we have just returned from the pothos apts having booked there after reading comments from this site and they were correct,we had a great time the family who run it are fab they try to make your stay as good as they can,the kichenette was basic with just a two ring burner, i asked for a toaster which we got straight away[made things a lot easier]bathroom could be better especilally when you,ve got children but manage you do.beds and pillows were comfortable and view of mountains from balcony was stunning,pool was very clean with plenty of sunbeds either in the sun or shade if to hot,bar food was good at reasonable prices,pothos town its self is nice with lots of restaurants and bars offering very good quality food at affordable prices there are plenty of places to walk and beach is lovely.

first time in zanti,but not the last,the family there at the pothos are second to none, felt like we had known them for years, nothing was to much trouble.sorry helen but looks like you have got to put up with us again next year.

Just come back from a week at the Pothos. This is our second stay and we couldn't fault it. The room was cleaned daily with the towels and bedding changed in the week. The apartments are basic, but spotless. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Alykes again this year and Dimitri, Helen and Dennis are fab. We ate in lots of restaurants all of which were really good and great value for money - Asteria, Maestro, Ponderosa, Paradise and Zorbas. The best bars we found were Cheers Bar which is down off the main street by Zorbas and the hosts Mike and Mandy are great. The other bar we liked was Sugar Bush with Lambros and Charlie. Trainaki is well worth a look too. Can't wait to go back in October

wonderful atmosphere generated by Helen and Dimitri during the evening and Dennis during the day. Basic apartments but very clean and well cared for..I have been twice and plan to go again in September. The welcome is just so genuine and as long as you want to be friendly you could ask for no better place

Not sure how many times we (The Atkinson's) have stayed with Helen, Dimitri and Dennis but it's been a few now and each time we have all loved it. These people and the woderful friendly atmosphere can't be beaten anywhere and we visitd many parts of Greece before finding this beatiful haven. The hotel is central enough to reach a choice of beaches and shops within a short walk yet it is so peaceful. Hope to go back (home) this year if we can and many more times in the future.

Went to the Pothos a couple of years ago and overnight in 2009. Always liked the Pothos as it was very clean and bright and the staff very friendly. Going back in May 2011 for two weeks and really looking forward to it.
Great wee town with good bars and a great beach, nice people and Whispers Bar just to add to the pleasre

This was my 4th time at the Pothos. Dimtris, Helen and Denis can't do enough for you, the pool bar and meals are great (reasonabley priced).The breakfasts are especially good, couldn't always eat the full one so went onto the small. The pool is a decent size and cleaned everyday. The rooms are large and are cleaned most days, clean towels and bedding are provided on arrival and changed in the week.
After a meal in the town and visting the bars, it's nice to go back to the pool bar and finish the evening with Helen and Dimitris before retiring.
Looking forward to going back next year.

I stayed at Pothos with my youngest son last year. This year I returned with youngest son, eldest son and his fiancee.
Situated just just outside of Alikes Pothos feels like it is situated away from the hustle and bustle but it is only a five minute walk to beach or Alikes centre.
The accomodation is clean and spacious, any problems are quickly sorted out - not that there were any!
The pool area is great, a good and relaxed atmosphere - most of the young people got on really well.
Dennis and Dimitris are both welcoming, courteous and friendly. Always willing to help.

What a lovely place to stay, basic but clean and spacious will definately stay here again.Amazing views of the mountains, could'nt fault anything about the place.
Demitris and Helen where behind the bar on a evening and Dennis was there through the day, all of them were very friendly and helpful, made you feel so welcome.
We love alykes and have been a couple of times before and will again, lots of lovely restaurants and bars , so really you are spoilt for choice, but this is laid back village, exactly what we like on holiday. The beach is golden sand and beautiful shallow sea, ideal for children.
can't wait till next year!

just got back from a fanatastic time at the Pothos , this was our second year at the apartments and couldnt fault them. There are many repeat visitors whom come year after year, some as many as 8 times. Just a reflection of the high standard and easy accessibilty to all the amentities.
Beach is a 5-7 minute walk across the road over the salt flats and the town is the same. Supermarket is only a short few minute walk away and the couple who run it are
extremely nice, we even had free food from them, cucumber on day , apricots another day, free ice for my little girl, just a small gester but it makes all the difference
Apartments are spotless , cleaners come in every day, sheets are immaculate and towels are whiter than white.
Food at the bar is good value for money and good quality.
Dennis is on during the day and is always very helpful
Dimitris and Helen are generally on the Bar at night and also very helpful, nothing is too much bother.
Best family places to eat we found was Paradise restaurant just on the road from the main road going down towards the salt flats, very good quality and good value for money , childs Pizza was enough for an adult , we had to take what we didnt eat back to the apartment, he too we have free wine and deserts, Megan the waitress is from liverpool and very helpful.
Ponderosa - good place to eat, mezzes for two enormous
