We are a young couple wanting a fantastic Caribbean get away and this was exactly that. After a disastrous so called holiday in Kos last year we deserved something amazing and it was out of this world I have no complaints with Cuba or First Choice.
The beaches were white and perfectly clean as was the hotel that was kept up to a very high standard at all times. Staff were very helpful and friendly. There was plenty to do or not to do if you want. We went to Havana and club Tropicana had a great time.
I could go on and on but all I need to say is you'd be a fool not to go to this amazing country so get it booked. I hope to go back one day.

Firstly, the Playa Alemeda is a massive resort with beautiful gardens. It is situated on the beach where the staff play music and silly games with the audience's participation. It is great fun. The Cuban people are fantastic. So very friendly. There are lots of watersports which are free on the beach.
There are about 4 restaurants and a buffet style place. The restaurants are 7/10. The food is nice but after a week you can get quite bored as the menu is very limited. And therefore you tend to keep having the same food.
The problem with the Playa Alemeda is that it is basically in the middle of no-where. The food was not superb and we would have gone to restaurants elsewhere if we could. But there is not a lot in the area.
Apart from the dolphins. We swam with the dolphins (do not book through the hotel as they are expensive ) which was great. We also took a few boat rides.
Hotel room was fantastic. We overlooked that beautiful azure blue sea. Maids and cleaners were very good. Our maid kept making me swans and bows etc from my nighty and towels!!
Would recommend as a relaxing holiday just wish there was more of an option with the dining!

This is a truly fantastic hotel to go to. At first we stayed in brisas del caribe, a 4* hotel, but we then upgraded to playa alemeda after only one day as the food in the 4 * was appalling. The difference between the two hotels was massive, you would have thought that a five star would be close standard to a four star but not in Cuba.
We met a couple out there that also upgraded from brisas del caribe, and also from another 4 *, tuxpan. Both hotels are pretty nasty! Anyway, Playa Alemeda is a wonderful hotel, the beach is gorgeous, and the pool is lovely. The grounds are very pretty and there are all the facilities one could wish for. The food was lovely in the buffet, lots of variety and things for everyone to eat. we didn't go to the a la carte restaurants because we didn't have time, but our friends went and they said it was lovely, especially the romantica!
The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times, and the rooms were very luxurious! We had a massive bed, a shower separate from the bath, an ironing board, a safe, a sofa, table and chairs and a balcony! It was lovely, and the air conditioning made it very cool at night.
Overall the holiday at this hotel was a 10/10 and it was really a lovely hotel to go to, we would definitely recommend it and consider going back there ourselves.

This is our second visit to this hotel, we first went in 2006 and loved it then but now it is even better. The staff are lovely, nothing is too much trouble for them, and the food was
fantastic such a large choice you would have to be extra extra fussy to not find anything to suit you. We arrived late due to snow at Gatwick on our departure and we were given ground floor rooms, we were not happy with the location of them but within 24 hours we were put in sea-view top floor rooms which were lovely. It was busy due to it being the Easter hols. but even so you did not feel crowded. They have added a few
"modern" touches since we were last there but these only complimented the hotel. Can't wait to go back there. This is the place to go to relax and chill out.
