Beach House I & II Apartments

Had blocked toilet/shower reported to owner. Response was as we were leaving the following day. He would then take action. Not what you would expect from excrement floating in shower/toilet area.

My partner and I stayed in the beach house in july 2010. We loved it and enjoyed ourselves. Spiros and Vicky were very friendly and such a lovely couple. The apartment it's self does not have a pool but the hotel next door and over the road allow you use of theirs. The beach in front of the beach house is pebbled its a little walk until you get to the sandy beach. But you can't complain a the scenery is beautiful. The locals are warm and friendly. When we stayed there was lots of stray kittens and a few cats, that would be my only bad comment as I'm not a cat lover.

DON'T BOOK TRIPS WITH GOLDEN DOLPHIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had a lovely stay in the beach House 2, the room looked onto the beach with a fantastic view, with the beach being a stones throw away, its easy to get to. The room was what we had expected, it was basic but all you need for a sun holiday, (who stays in their room apart from sleeping) The rooms were cleaned regularly but the linen and towels werent changed often enough. The location of the beach house is situated perfectly, really close to the beach, and a short walk away from the bars and restaurants so its nice and quiet for the night time, with the doors open the only thing you can hear is the waves crashing on the surface of the pebble beach. I do however recommend purchasing a plug in mosquito repellent, they work wonderfully and are about 7 euros in price.
Food- although in the beach house you can cook your own food, we ate out every night, the food was delicious everywhere we went with the waiters and waitresses being really friendly, one brilliant and delicious restaurant which I highly recommend is the Asteria situated next to the sandy beach, the lamb kleftico and chicken souvlaki in particular were our favourite dishes.
GOLDEN DOLPHIN TOURS- DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE!
We booked a tour to the blue caves and shipwreck with this company only to be let down by the entire trip, there was no tour guide speaking about the locations, and as we got to the the shipwreck were told we couldnt get off to see it, we stayed there for around 5mins and quickly left, we had no idea why we couldnt get off and were taken back to the pick up point. As we went to complain about the trip, the woman explained that occasionally the police stop the trips from going to the shipwreck if the waves are high, we were never pre warned about this and asked for 10 euros back from the 25 euro price, she was very rude and un helpful and didnt once apologise for the situation, she said as we had seen the shipwreck from the boat we had been there and couldnt receive any refund, we tried to explain that we didnt get the 30min stop at the shipwreck, but she didnt seem interested and was happy to keep all the money that we had given them.
overall a nice holiday, i recommend booking the trainaki to the museum, very fun and enjoyable, avoid golden dolphin and at least once eat at the Asteria.

we havent long come back from the beach house 1 our honeymoon its the first time me and my husband have been to greece it is beautiful the people are very freindly the beach house is clean but very basic there is no reception until 4 oclock which is in the virago bar i found the owners spiros and vicky not very helpful they wouldnt help u with anything untill the bar was open at 4 oclock all they did was moan about thomas cook which u dont really want to hear when you are on holiday we only went to the bar once that was enough
you have to rent the air conditioning which is a little fan you cant leave the doors open or you get bitten by mosquitos i had over 200 bites on my 2nd day the maids come in every 2 days to clean but never changed the bedding or towels we had to drag them off the beds and pass them to them and when we got them back the sheets had what looked like dried blood on them
as you cant put toilet tissue down the toilet there is a bin provided i think it should be changed every day they came every 2 days
the view off the verranda is beautiful your looking right on to the sea if you get up early enough you will see the sun rising its mind blowing there is a pebbled beach but if you get past that the sea is lovely and refreshing
i gave this a 5 rating ecause alykes is such a lovely place we will be going back there just to a different hotel
