I booked the Kyraid Hotel because it was cheaper than the big fancy disney hotels. I didn't need one as all I wanted was a room to sleep in with breakfast, a bed and a bathroom, and that was what I got. It wasn't any better than I expected and wasn't any worse. The reason I... more

A great hotel, clean and good service. It is also first on the bus route to both the park and the airport which is great because there often isn't enough room and therefore the people staying at the Disney hotels nearer the park often can't get on. The hotel was well-run... more

My best friend and I have just returned from a three night stay at the Kyriad Hotel. Having brought no kids with us, we didn't want a fancy hotel but one which was good value for money yet still close to the Disneyland Park. We got exactly that!! We arrived at 11:30 in the... more

Enjoyed our stay
Any anxieties proved unfounded as we had no problems during our stay from Easter Sunday to the following friday. We would recommend the hotel. Our room was at the end of the corridor so very quiet, we had an excellent view of the countryside and again as the hotel is away from traffic, very quiet. We made use of the coffee making facilities, TV, shower etc.. with no problems. The staff at reception, bar and restaurant appeared friendly at all times so not much to complain about there. There was entertainment provided for the kids on a couple of nights with clowns, balloons, candy floss etc and it kept our 8 year old busy. The games arcade beside the bar can cost you, its 2euro a game. The bar prices are comparatively reasonable at 5euro a pint. There is also a souvenir shop beside the bar where kids can get crisps , sweets etc.. The breakfast at 6euro is fine, with egg, ham, croissant, juice. Perhaps a little more variety with the cereals for the kids would help. The shuttle bus to Disneyland is regular with a timetable available at reception. Tips for your stay? If you plan going to Paris for a day buy the Mobilis ticket at the train station at Disneyland, it costs 12euro for adult or child and gives you limitless use of the train and metro for the day. However buy it before 9AM as the queue can be up to an hour long later in the morning.
Front desk staff created nightmare for guest
Our first two days at the Kyriad were ruined due to the need for endless discussions with the staff about the status of our pre-paid reservation, made through Disney. On each occasion, we politely provided the information requested, including the confirmation number, and were told that there was no such reservation. The second night, after a woman who claimed to be the manager threatened to send up the police to throw us out of our room, I could not sleep at all. A fax from Disney finally cleared up the problem, but Disney has still refused to refund the payment for the two sleepless nights.
Disney refund policy makes it impossible to resolve problems
Disney's policy of requiring a non-refundable payment for the whole stay creates a situation where the hotel has no incentive to resolve booking problems, problems with accessibility for the handicapped, etc. They've got the money for the whole stay, so it the staff is rude or threatens a guest, the only choice the guest has is to go to another hotel. Then the Kyriad can rent out the room to someone else, and get paid twice for the same room.
Family terrorized at Kyriad Hotel
Despite a pre-paid booking with Disney, the Kyriad hotel denied that we had a booking, forced us to pay one more time, and then threatened to lock us out of our room, despite the fact that my daughter was alone in the room. The manager then sent up a staff person who entered the room when my daughter was alone there. (We were in the lobby talking with the manager about the problem.) The staff person refused to identify himself and the manager refused to confirm who the staff person was.
Disabled nightmares
I have stayed here on numourous other occasions without any trouble but on this occasion they gave me a room in the main block which had a disabled toilet and was told if i wanted a normal toilet i would have to move to the other block taking their word for it i started to unpack then found out that that also had a disabled toilet, so i went back and was eventually given the room that i wanted in the first place this was a lot of hassle that i could have done without on my holiday.
Better then expected
The weekend of april 30 2004 my wife and I went with another couple to the Kyriad. Having stayed in many budget hotels in France we expected not too much from this one, since it is from a brand of budget hotels. But we wanted a hotel near Disney with a shuttle, so we did not have to drive 30 minutes from the hotel to Disney. It was a good choice. The hotel might have the name 'Kyriad' on it, but in now way it seems to be a Kyriad. Maybe only for the Kyriad brochures you find. The Hotel is much better then an average Kyriad. As people mention correctly, it is superior to a 2-star hotel, and even better then many 3-star hotels. So with low expectations, we were pleasantly surprised. Comes with it that we booked last minute with HotelTrader for a great deal. We got two rooms, that were sold as rooms for 2 people, but had a double bed and a bunk bed for 2 kids. So even a family could stay there. Do not expect a suite though, but a simple, yet tasteful room with a much better bed then a lot of other hotels. Since the hotel is still 'new', it looks better then some of the Disney hotels that are in an urgent need of refurbishment. The shuttle is great, it comes often and starts at the Kyriad, so you always have a place to sit! After that it goes to Holiday Inn, My Explorers and Mövenpick, and their guests might have to stand. The shuttle stops near the train station, so basically you walk less then from any other Disney hotel to the parks (except for the Disneyland hotel at the main gate of when you use the shuttle from the other Disney hotels - for Kyriad the shuttle is a must, since you probably won't walk from the hotel to the park). We had breakfast included, and since they work on a time schedule, meaning: they have 3 different times at which you can have breakfast, the breakfast seems not too busy. Breakfast is simple and not too great. Do not expect too much if you like eating as a hobby. The hotel lacks in facilities, such as a pool or other entertainment. But who needs it when Disneyland Resort Paris has enough entertainment to offer. The hotel is the best budget decision if you need a hotel near Disney. Because of our good deal we paid 13 euro's a night more then the Etap hotel we stayed before, and now had breakfast plus no hassle of 30 minutes driving with the car but the comfort of a shuttle bus. Plus a much better hotel.
fantastic hotel! would reccomend!
visited this hotel in the summer of 2004 with my boyfriend. It's in the perfect location for disney! Had a fabulous time after getting a cheap deal off the internet. Very impresed! No way was this a 2* hotel! I'd rate it 3* at least!! The rooms were lovely! This hotel is Great for children! although the disney music throughout reception gets a bit annoying after a few days!!! The free shuttle bus to disney is fantastic!! Very frequent + more busses run at busier times which is good! The breakfasts are ok. If you don't mind croissants + pan au chocollates! But DON'T buy drinks from the bar you will be ripped off!! As a few people have said the only bad thing is the price of the shuttle from the airport! If you're feeling adventerous you could try getting the train! You save a lot of money. If your flight home is a time when the expensive shuttle bus doesn't run allow plenty of time!! We were waiting for the first shuttle bus to disney to get the train to the airport + it didn't turn up and we nearly missed our flight home even though we allowed nearly 5 hours for the journey!!
The kids and your wallet will love it.
If you're looking at this hotel, you're thinking, "I can't really afford to stay in one of the Disney on-site hotels, but I want our stay to be something special... does the Kyriad fit the bill?". Yup, it does. It only opened in March 2003 so it still feels clean, fresh and modern and (unlike some other Kyriads) the place has clearly been built with children in mind. Bunk beds, family tables for breakfast (but try to arrive early), good standard of child-friendly buffet foods, a large area in reception for socialising and a high-tech shuttle-bus combine to excite the children and make your holiday just that little bit extra special.
Cheap, Functional, Cute
I stayed at the Kyriad on the 30th of December 2004. Having read so many reviews of the hotel, rating it as "Excellent", I must say I was a little dissapointed upon arrival. The lobby was full of tacky things for kids, such as a big "bon bon" stand and a little carousel. The reception area wasn't much better, and I felt very much like a grown adult in a kindegarten. I was satisfied with the room itself. It was surprisingly large, clean, and attractive. The bed was very big and comfortable. The bathroom was modern and smart, except for the paint peeling off the walls. The shower was poorly designed, making it difficult not to get water everywhere when using it. Also, I must add that the TV was VERY small, and had horrible distorted sound, making it very unpleasant to listen to. The breakfast was a little above average. There was an unlimited buffet of pain au chocolats, bread, cereal, ham, eggs, orange juice and tea. The restaurant building itself was a attractive and cosy. Overall, the Kyriad is a good hotel. It's very basic, but the quality is good for the price.
Value for Money, and great for 2 star rating
Stayed at the Kyriad Disneyland Resort Hotel for 2 nights, 11th & 12th September. Overall very clean and welcoming accomodation. Staff were very helpful and always smiling. The one restaurant is buffet style on the evening, which to be honest wasn't the best. Eat in the Disney Village or the Park itself, which is a bit more expensive, but better. The shuttle buses are about every 10-15 minutes from 6am to midnight, and from the Hotel to the Park takes about 10 minutes maximum. I will be returning to this hotel, because it is exceptional value for money, plus I just loved Disneyland Paris! Overall, great accommodation for a 2 star hotel.
