Got back from Eryphilli 10.09.2011. Loved every minute. Nikos and his lovely family are very friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the area. All areas clean and tidy. Studio are basic but clean, clean linen every other day. Can't wait to come back next year

  • Advice: A car would be nice but not essential as the pool and beach are fab.

I have just returned home after staying for the second time at Eryphilli - the last being 8 years ago.For peace & quiet and the most obliging of hosts you wont do better. The room was in what was the original block and it was spotless- believe me I am fussy about these things! It was roomy and adequate with one large electric ring, a small kettle and a toaster. The bins were emptied every day and the sheets changed after 3-4 days- and they were large & lovely crisp cotton. There have been some improvements, namely mosquito screens to the patio and bathroom windows which is a great bonus plus air conditioning and a safe available for the usual charge - your choice.People I spoke to, who were regulars, said they had no preference as to which apartments they got.I found the pool to be very well maintained and actually saw Nicos cleaning it very late at night. I will agree that the bar prices could be a bit cheaper and Nicos is looking into that but he does use branded spirits and if you look at the prices in the supermarkets you will find that it is 18euros for a litre of spirits. Greece is no longer cheap folks! There are also bar meals available until about 9 30pm, home cooked moussaka/ meat pie etc ,for 6euros. Brilliant value and a great place.

We stayed at Eryphilli for the first time.
We had an apartment in the new block and our friend a studio in the old block. Rooms were ok. I was impressed with the bathroom in the apartment.
However, pool area was not tidied or cleaned daily as has been done in other places we've stayed.
Nikos & Peter were taking the mickey with the prices at the pool bar, and also the prices varied from day to day. 3 euros for a frappe one day, 2.50 euros the next. 5 euros for half litre carafe of wine. The most we paid in restaurants was 6.50 euros for a litre.
Barbecue on Thursday wasn't a barbecue...food cooked in the kitchen.
We just cannot see why people return here year after year. So what are we missing?

We stayed for two weeks 8th Sept to 22nd Sept 2009.This was our second visit to the Eryphilli and was as good as last time.Ideal for people who like to relax in lovely surroundings with two superb hosts.Peter and Nikos are so happy to help with all your needs and the new restaurant is a very welcome addition to already good facilities.

  • Advice: Great for a relaxing holiday with superb facilities and hosts
  • Activities: All restaurants we used were very good, also hire a car and see all the island,it is very beautiful.

We had a great time in Eryphilli studio's. We'd read some of the other reviews and was a little concerned about the accommodation, but we had nothing to worry about. It's run by two brothers. The studio flats was fantastic. Clean. French doors leading out on to the terrace. Most of all Nikos(one of the brothers) was lovely. Always at hand and service with a smile. The pool is very clean but also the beach is just a very short walk down the hill. Overall superb holiday!! Highly recommend it.

On our arrival at the eryphilli we found Peter and his family all very friendly and help ful. We had a new apartment , the balcony was lovely and private with two french windows leading onto it with a lovely view. The rooms were spacious and clean , the shower room was nice too. The pool was lovely and peaceful, not like some where you can,t move or get a sunbed. The pool bar served good lunchtime snacks , there was also plenty of shade there were you could read or play games from the bar. Nikos and his family were very friendly and hospitable at all times. I would definately recommend this to anyone , We will certainly go back

Stayed at the Eryphilli for 1 week in july with my sister-in law.
Katelios is lovely and we went to skala a couple of times as well which we loved. however, we were disapointed with Eryphilli due to a couple of problems.
Room small and dirty.
Balcony's in some apt / studio's had amazing views (ours didnt) we overlooked the new block of apartments.
Air conditioning cost 35 euro's for a week and leaked from day 1. we did report this twice and nothing was done. the balcony was so wet that we placed our room towels down to soak up the water (informed owners of this) and had no replacement towels.
Unable to flush toilet paper down the loo (which is fine) however, the toilet bins were only changed a couple of times for the whole week so the rooms smelt of PEE.
Bed change once and towel change once for the whole stay.
So we were unhappy with our stay here.
Other reviews were really good and that was why we chose to stay here.
I would return but not to these apt / studios.

We have just returned from our second visit to Eryphilli and I am sure it will not be the last. All the best bits of holiday destinations rolled into one. Friendly, tranquil and clean with a lovely pool and surroundings without being too big. Nikos and Peter were as we expected really friendly and always obliging. Peter does cook some lovely meals a few times each week and Nikos takes care of the very good bar food which is always available and very reasonably priced. Unfortunately as we booked late we could only have a studio but it was only for sleeping and a little self catering. Plently of places to eat out (the euro has made things more expensive) especially Katelios Tavern where we were made welcome for a meal or if we simply wanted a caraf of wine and watch the world go by. We did hire a car for the week from Venus car hire in Katelios which we collected at the airport. It is nice to have transport to visit some of the other beaches in the area.

We stayed at the Eryphilli in August 2008 - its a superb place to stay - and the owners can't do enough to make your stay great.
The apartments are a leisurly 10 minutes stroll away - no problem, and the main street banks onto the beach. There is a super-market just outside the apartment.
There are a few little shops in the main street and lots of places to eat. We ate at Jerry's Elliniko, (www.jerryselliniko.com), NOT to be confused with captain Jerry's which is in the main street. We also ate at TSOBO's Garden, a traditional grill/taverna at the back of the main street - noth very good and not expensive.
If you are thinking of taking a trip it is worth checking out the trips in the local office near the beach (you can't miss it, its the only one!) The trips are much cheaper than with the reps. The office is also the money excahnge.
When you see the kiosk at the beach (apparently this is the only place in the resort that sells cigarettes) tuen right into the main street. Near the end on the left hand side is a bar/taverna (sorry I can't remember the name) with sunbeds that are free to anyone. You will see a sign for free sunbeds and they're stacked up at the side of the taverna which is on the beach. Just buy a drink or something to eat there out of courtesy.
This saved us a fortune as the other beds are 6 euros each!
If you enjoy a walk, go to Kato, Katelios village, which is about 20 minutes from the Eryphilli - its just a few houses and a lovely church and a little grave yard. The church tower can be seen from the apartment - its very Greek! Take water as there are no shops on the way.
I hope you love the place as much as we did!!!

First time in Kephalonia, and we weren't let down. Both Nikos and Peter were very friendly and Katelios itself was very quiet. The building work opposite the entrance was hardly heard at all. We went on the 3 island trip which was superb, also toured for a day around Sami (go to Anti Samos and the Mycean(?) ruins) and Poros. Walked to the next bay from Katelios (Mundai bay) across the rocks. The very big bay/beach was virtually empty. A word of warning be very careful crossing the rocks, as someone had a broken leg on their second day!
Overall a very good holiday and we would certainly go back to the same apartments/place.
