What a wonderful holiday! Despite the overwhelming Greek heatwave with temperatures soaring to 45 degrees, it is one of the most beautiful places I have visited.
The accommodation is basic but all you need as a base for exploring the island especially the best bits in the north pennisula. Aghia Efimia itself is a beautiful harbour - quiet but extremely picturesque.
I would thoroughly recommend this holiday. The only downside I would say is that the kitchen facilities in the rooms aren't that great but that was ok because we ate out each night and tasted the gorgeous local food.

We have just returned from the Waterside Apartments Kefalonia. A word of warning if you do find yourself unlucky enough to be allocated a room on the road side, it is an extremely busy road with traffic noise beginning very early in the morning. There was building work going on up the road and cement mixers and lorries were continually up and down past the room in the morning, it was impossible to sleep in.
We chose not to sit on the balcony as the road was so close and it was not private at all. The windows actually rattled with the noise. We found if we closed the shutters it was better but got hot then.
The rooms overlooking the sea would have been ideal. It is very basic accommodation but spotlessly clean with maid service every day and the Greek owners are extremely helpful.
However I would not choose to visit Waterside again there are much nicer places to stay in Agia Efimia.

Been to Aghia Efima Six times now and stayed in six different accommodations The Waterside was one we had always loved the look of but never managed to get booked into.
The place is excellent and if you manage to get an apt on the back as in the photo you will have lovely sea views and the delights of looking out on to the owners garden excellent, there are tables and chairs plus sun loungers. We had an apt which was on the opposite side by the road but this did not cause us any problems and we could sit of an evening and people watch as Makis is nearly opposite and has an excellent restaurant and a pool bar with again VIEWS that are amazing.
All in all you will have a lovely time here if you like traditional places, lovely friendly people and great food. We will go back again and this is a surprise as I have never gone back to the same place before but this place just has the edge on anywhere else in Greece we have been.

A beautiful place that takes you to another place in which, you wish you could stay. The people were very helpful, & generally cared, thank god for Greece.
It was so nice to be able to relax & enjoy the place. Great air conditioning, very basic room's, but a wonderful atmosphere. The People were very attentive.
When I go back to this part of Greece, I will go back to this accommodation.
