Don’t go to this place! I have just got back from a week staying in the Chrispy and I would never go there ever again and I would recommend that no one ever went there. When booking the holiday we were booking a 4* AI village, this was most certainly not what we got! The... more

pristine chrispy
the chrispy is set in a nice quiet location.we spent the first afternoon watching the sunset with the swallows swooping to the fabulous pool for a drink, paradise we thought.then we went to the buffet restaurant.although there was a good selection of salads etc,the main dishes were diabolical eg,lukewarm soup and some meat dishes that we coudn,t name .but dont worry if you left it at lunch, it would be rehashed with a bit of corn or carrots at dinner and rechristened.the all inclusive beer tasted like it had gone... more
Don't believe what you read
After we booked the holiday we decided too get some back ground on the hotel and after reading the first few reviews on this website thought OH MY GOD!!!!!!. But please don't believe all you read. This hotel was very good indeed( the couple who travelled with us think the Germans have written the bad reviews to keep the English away) as there were only 6 English people there the week we went. Yes there was not much of a choice of Drink(alcohol) just 3 a German beer that was excellent, Ouzo and Brandy, yes they were served in... more
Much better than expected.
Just come back from a week at the Chrispy. Only booked the day before, then read reviews which were awful. Would not have booked if we had seen them first. When we arrived we were expecting the worst.Could not believe how wrong the reviews were. The appartments were lovely, spotlesley clean., sea view. maid came every day to clean and with fresh bed linen and towels. For the price we paid the food was excellent, loads of variety at every meal. It was allways fresh and hot. There were plenty of drinks served all day, alchoholic... more
Trying hard to say something nice
This was the worst holiday we have ever had. Not hard to please, we rarely grumble, but this place brings out the worst in you. The room was nice, but no sea view unless you had a telescope. The food was , well we never went hungry, but repetetive and dull it was. The pool was very nice, but there really is nothing else there. All inclusive was a joke. Awful coctails in plastic cups which blow away. Dont bother to dress up for dinner, shorts and vests for men, or even no vest as we often saw was the normal thing. Even the surrounding... more
Shocking Hotel
My friend and i booked on lastminute and thought that we had a real find in the Chrispy Hotel, the pictures made the reception area look very impressive as did the Hotels own Website. We couldn't have been more wrong. We booked a 4* all inclusive week away for £400.00. When we were driving down the narrow dirt track to get to the Hotel i knew it was not what we had thought. The food was awful, you had to make sure you went to lunch exactly the time it started serving to make sure it was fresh, everything was uncovered, nothing was... more
crappy Chrispy village
Arriving at the Chrispy village, expecting 4* luxury AI, the first thing that struck my attention as being strange was the absence of a lift or porter to take the luggage on the third floor. the room was adequate but was charged 5 euros per day for the the luxury of air-condition(which didn't work). There were no handrails on the stairs which is quite dangerous. There were no shampoo or anything except for a little soap and once used was not replaced. As for the food, oh God where do I start. Most awful experience of my life considering... more
not as good as it looks
We arrived thinking we had reserved a 4* room but were given 3*. This turned out to be the lot of loads and loads of people. All different agents but the Chrispy didn't mind taking your money for the upgrades - they firmly blamed whoever you booked with but this was a big problem for many of their guests and they weren't very bothered. This is one of those places stuck out in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do. We had to hire a car just to get away from it. With a toddler it was dreadful. Nothing at all for kids apart from a... more
boring bland only good things room and pool
just returned from chrispy village, room was clean and spacious, pools nice. food repetitive and bland always plenty of flies in restaurant, salad bar and dessert fruit food not covered . do not expect american breakfast. was no animation team to host activities. when we booked this hol we were advised it was in the posh part of crete what a joke. also advised that we could walk to where there was life, no such luck you had to take a bus to plantanias about 20 25 mins away. no evening entertainment except for thursday night which is greek... more
Some wil love - some will hate!
This hotel looks fab on the website and to be fair the pool is great and the place, on the whole is spotless. I enjoyed lying around not doing much for a week but if you're looking for more you'll be disappointed. I went on the all inclusive option which I've never done before but from others comments this hotel came up pretty poorly by AI standards. Evening entertainment happens once a week and that was laughable - 2 Greek dancers in a cleared patio area in the dark! The drinks for AI are all served in white plastic cups - even in the... more
Chrispy Hotel - the jury is still out
We were a party of 6 - 2 adults, 2 teenagers (15,13) a 3 year old and an infant (18 months walking) We originally booked the Lavis bungalows but following reading some dreadful reviews we changed to Chrispy prior to departure. Unfortunately the flights could not be moved so we flew into Heraklion and had a 3 hour drive at 2 oclock in the morning. In fairness, it only took 90 minutes during the day but you cannot drive too fast on the Cretan roads in the dark. On arrival at Chrispy at 6am we were pleasantly surprised, every thing... more
