Honeymoon Petra Villas

From - Essex, Nr London Just got back from our Honeymoon, we stayed there for 2-weeks and have had a wonderful time. A truly fantastic place.. and we stayed in the Smallest Traditional Apartment... I have to say marking this place down as anything less than excellent purely because of a few room sizes is ridiculous. One can only presume that every room is a penthouse suite in U.S. hotels. This hotel is fantastic. Has an astonishing view, there are no words that can describe it. Watch the sunset at the pool area and you'll never forget it. The rooms are great, I stayed the first night at a traditional studio, although small there are very nicely decorated, and the second night at a studio close to the pool, more spacious and also very nice. The pool is fantastic. The breakfast was above average, the only problem is if you arrive late most of the food is gone. The staff at the reception was genuinely very friendly and helpful.... more

When we got there, we were amazed from the Magnificent view. We stayed in a Petra Studio, 3rd level and last of the Petra Wing, the second part of the hotel. In our Check-in, told us, that this wing took many years to be build it and we understud the reason when we arrived in our room. A huge rock was "stilling" our rooms' space but it was something I never seen before in a hotel. The room had a great view, a line of small rocks was seperating our balcone from next door room. I would recommend this hotel only for its spectacular view of the island. I was impressed with the complimentary bottle of wine that greeted us as we arrived, but I was disappointed by the mediocre service and stench of sewage in the area of our room (#4). The staff were very friendly, but not exactly quick to react to requests. Several times, we ended up doing ourselves what we had asked to be done. I am currently staying at the Honeymoon Petra. Despite the name being a bit cheesy, this is an excellent hotel. The view of the caldera is exhilerating and the infinity pool area is the best place to see it from. From the moment that you arrive, the service is welcoming and personal. First of all, if you have any problem with steps don't come here! And if,like me, you don't think you have any problem with steps, just try climbing up the steps to the top of the steeple of your local church during a heatwave and then think again! The place itself is in the best place on the island. This hotel is the only one in Imerovigli which has views of the sunset, Oia and Fira due to its position at the end of the cliff. I disagree with the gentleman from Canada. the rooms are very large. they even have a kitchenette. In some of the rooms the bathrooms are a little smaller than your typical large american bath. They rooms have a bed and a sitting area. quite a bit of space to maneuver. for $500 you can stay in the two bedroom suite. the staff was friendly and the location spectacular. I have even been to a wedding there. They went out of there way to assist the bridal party with anything. all in all a great experience.

This hotel was everything and more that I have always expected and dreamed of when I think of the Greek islands. My husband and I spent our last day on Santorini at Honeymoon Petra villas. We had very full days of walking under the hot, Santorini sun and Honeymoon Petra was definitely our refuge. We ended up here by accident - we were booked at the Pegasus Suites, but due to overbooking problems there, we were moved to the Honeymoon Petra Villas. They were also able to offer us 2 additional rooms for others in our wedding party. We could not have been more thrilled with the outcome of this mishap. We loved this hotel. The views from their terraces are simply spectacular, and without exception all of the staff were smiling and friendly, and very efficient. We were very fortunate to have been given a gorgeous apartment, with the view you dream about from our sun deck. Even the breakfast room had a view to die for!! If you are looking for comfort, style and great service, you cannot go wrong with this hotel. Highly recommended, and would return again in a heartbeat!
