loved the laterna di marco polo
from A TripAdvisor Member
We enjoyed our stay at the laterna di marco polo in Venice. The location was great--close to the Rialto bridge and very easy to find. Fransesco gave good directions to the hotel and was very pleasant and helpful in answering our questions and making suggestions. She and her staff seemed to enjoy there work and made a special effort to keep us informed and make us comfortable. Breakfast was good. Staying at the hotel contributed to making our stay in Venice very enjoyable and memorable. I highly recommend it!
Great Location and Staff... comfortable and clean hotel
from A TripAdvisor Member
The hotel is located a few steps (1 min walk) from San Marco, and from the Rialto Bridge and the water bus stop. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Most important the staff is extremly helpfull... We had a problem with a hotel in milan on our way back, the staff of Lanterna di Marco Polo called them and arrange the reservation for us.
Really enjoyed our stay
from A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I stayed at Laterna de Marco Polo recently and really enjoyed it. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and helped make our short stay very enjoyable. We had the top floor with a roof deck, but walking up the five flights of stairs each day was guite a bit of exercise for us. The view from the deck was worth it but next time I think we will try to get a room on the first or second floor. The location was excellent as it was close to the Rialto Bridge and a short walk to Piazza San Marco. We would recomend this hotel...

a secret jewel in venice
from A TripAdvisor Member
What a secret jewel hidden in the middle of Venice. This tiny bed and breakfast is easy to miss when winding one's way through the narrow streets. Fortunately the staff went out of their way to communicate with us before we even left home, sending us maps directing us to their doorstep, instructions from the airport to their hotel. The B&B is clean, nicely decorated, with a very friendly staff. While the rooms are on the small side,by North American standards, they are comfortable and air conditioned. The continental breakfast offered was...

Not too happy.
from A TripAdvisor Member
We really only stayed in the end because of the air-conditioning. I felt we were paying too much for what was supposed to be a "triple room" - a mattress with a bar through it more likely. There was no-one there when we arrived and although this shouldn't have mattered, it did. We needed more pillows and lightglobes for blown lights. But the worst but was the stairs - we had to drag heavy, heavy suitcase up many flights of stairs. We were travelling with an elderly lady and the stairs were nigh on impossible for her. There was nowhere set...

We enjoyed our stay in this Venice Hotel.

The hotel was in a great location-by the Rialto bridge. The room was clean and the breakfast was good! If you go to Venice-definitely worth staying overnight. Reasonable price as well.
Little Gem

Wonderful small hotel in the centre of venice between Rialto and San Marco. The hotel only has a few rooms and this adds to the uniqueness of the place. The only down side we can mention is that there is no lift, which when you have a fair amount of luggage can be a struggle. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, however the reception is only staffed during the day. Breakfast was adequate and don't expect a view from your room, the alleys either side of the hotel are tiny but we thought that this again added to the feel of the place. We...

Very Nice Hotel
from goin2
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We stayed in a quad room which was quite comfortable. They were extremely friendly and provided a map and information on how to get to the many sights as well as where to dine. You do have to carry your luggage up the stairs which can be a little difficult. We were on the top floor so it was quite a hike but not so bad once you were in the room. The room was very nicely decorated and very clean. The air conditioner does make a noise like trickling water but compared to the noise in Rome it was almost...

good location, so-so accomodation
from Xanu
Very easy to find, and close to Rialto stop (#82), so even if you have a lot of luggage, it's a short walk. All streets in Venice are safe, but at night our location seemed a bit isolated, again it's still safe. The best part is that it's a 5 min. walk to the square and to the Rialto Bridge. There is no elevator, so beware of what floor you're in as it's not easy to carry those suit cases up the stairs. The stairs are carpeted, and very, very filthy, it gives a terrible impression and makes you feel the facilities are not clean. I think...

Everything was wonderful!

Booked this hotel before arriving. Took #82 water bus (expect to pay for your suitcases as well as for yourself) to Rialto Bridge stop and then about two minute walk to hotel. Recently bought and renovated by Francesca, the owner, in a very upscale manner. Tiny little lobby which doubles as breakfast room. Very nice breakfasts considering it was a self-serve buffet with machines to dispense coffee drinks, orange juice, etc. Quality of food was very nice and didn't mind not having staff hovering. Francesca was extremely helpful (had...

2 adults, 1 Child and 1 Infant. We all really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were fantastic. When we got there they gave us a map and marked out all the sites AND (in different colour ink!) a guide to get back home to the hotel! We were given keys to the hotel, so we... more
