The best vacation ever!
Our trip to the Ocean Club was absolutely wonderful! We felt totally pampered and totally relaxed the entire time we were there! We were picked up at the airport by the Ocean Club's Escalade and two cold bottles of water were waiting for us. Upon arriving (about a 30 min drive) we were warmly welcomed at the Ocean Club, given a cool towel to refresh ourselves with and offered a glass of lemonade or champagne (even though it was only 10:45, we chose the champagne!!). We had a mini tour of the magnificent grounds and immediately fell in... more
By far the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation
Just returned from the Ocean Club 6 days May 05. Let me preface my remarks by saying I have stayed at Atlantis 8 or 9 times and watched the Royal Towers being built but after staying at the Ocean Club the only time I will go back to Atlantis is to dine or gamble. We went to Atlantis 3 or 4 times during this visit and each time I couldn't get back to the Ocean Club fast enough. Atlantis is great for the family, lots to do and PLENTY of people to do it with. The Ocean Club is a very quiet, romantic place to be alone with someone. The employees... more
The Ocean Club -- Great choice for Families
I recently returned from a short (4-nite, 5-day) vacation at the Ocean Club in Paradise Island. I traveled with my husband and three children, ages 15, 12 and 9. We had chosen this hotel as a compromise. We had a very short spring break this year and we needed to go somewhere that was a fast non-stop flight from New York with frequent connections. Nassau fit the bill in this respect. There was no way my husband would stay in Atlantis; it is absolutely not our type of place (and all of our feelings about Atlantis were confirmed after we... more
Out To Sea
The Ocean Club is a prime example of why staff make or break a hotel property. After all, it is called the "hospitality" industry. We booked a Luxury Ocean Front Suite, for about $2,000 a night in the new wing. When we arrived the room was not ready on time, and we were invited to feel free to have lunch. I always feel free to have lunch, particularly when it costs about $150. When the room was finally prepped, it was really spectacular -- British Colonial, comfortable, luxurious without being garish, first rate amenities (no shower gel... more
An Oasis of Luxury, Peace and Pampering on Paradise Island
My wife and I just returned from our honeymoon at the Ocean Club (April 25-29). We have both travelled far and near, and never have we come across such a wonderful oasis. Paradise Island is almost synonomous with the Atlantis Hotel with its thousands of people, dozens of restaurants, casino and hustle and bustle. Just about a 1/2 mile down the beach, you come upon the Ocean Club. Amidst all that I just described, the Ocean Club is the most peaceful, serene place where as a guest, you have unbelievable attention and pampering from the... more
NOT WORTH IT!
My husband and I stayed at the Ocean Club resort for 3 nights. The first night we found a huge live cockroach in our room, house keeping took over an hour to come get it out. When I approached the manager - he explained "you are from NYC and there a rats everywhere" and said that "roaches are normal for the Bahamas"! I was so grossed out, I slept with 2 layers of clothes on every night. I would definelty save the money and go somewhere with better customer service.
Absolutly wonderful!
Last week my aunt, sister, and i returned home from our stay at the ocean club. it was absolutly wonderful, expensive, but wonderful. i will start out by saying that this is not a place where the penny pinchers shoud go. when you are there you want to relax and have a good time and you can do that every where you go in the hotel. The beache is to die for, the water is a clear blue, unlike the ocean on the east coast. each day the life guard puts a flag up saying if you can go in or not. yellow means normal, red and yellow means rought but... more
no value for the price
my family just returned from a stay (feb 05) at the one and only ocean club. we would not return. our room did not have a properly functioning toilet, the shower drain was blocked, and the shower tiles were moldy. the last two items were addressed only after we complained, which in itself is objectionable given the price of our room. the toilet situation was not resolved during our stay. expect to tip like you have never tipped before. the hotel seems to think that its visitors will be impressed by a busload of staff surrounding... more
Not worth the price
The ocean club is nice, but not worth the price. Better options are Little Dix Bay (Virgin Gorda), Peter Island (BVI), Tiamo Resorts (South Andros Bahamas), and Ladera (St. Lucia). Can't beat breakfast on the veranda near the bar though.
Relaxing stay at the Ocean Club
My husband and I just returned from at stay at the Ocean Club. We stayed in an ocean view room in the Hartford Wing. The room was nice and tastefully decorated, but a bit small for the price. We stayed on the ground floor, but we would have preferred to have stayed on the 2nd floor for a better ocean view. Apparently, they were booked throughout our stay. One negative in the Hartford Wing is that most of the rooms face the Courtyard Resturant, which can be noisy in the evenings. The grounds and the ocean were beautiful. The property was... more
