Laguna Resort & Spa

Huge dissapointment. Everything had a cost attached which is drastically different from the rest of Bali where mostly everything is included. I could have saved 30 hours of travelling and 120,000 frequent flyer miles by going to a Disney World Resort where at least I could have gotten some straight answers. They charge an arm and a leg for cab rides anywhere outside the Nusa Dua compound and I caught one of the managers scolding a worker for giving me a ride on the back of his scooter 1/4 mile for free that the hotel was charging $10 for.... more

We had booked to stay at this hotel for one night on our way through Bali to elsewhere in Indonesia and again for a few nights at the end of our trip but the first visit put us off for good. We are very familiar with the Starwood Luxury Collection brand and this hotel simply does not live up to the standards. It feels more like a theme park than a luxury hotel and is also in need of a refurb. Staff were friendly but we did not find them efficient.

We stayed at the Sheraton Laguna in Mid July over the weekend and the hotel was fully booked. However even at the breakfast buffett, which is often a problem in peak times, we could not see that is overcrowded. We got an upgrade to a suite room and our frined stayed at a normal room. Even tough some renovation is needed (which will be done soon accrding to the staff) I have seen 5 star hotels in much worse conditions and felt very comfortable. The hotel is very nicely laid out but is very old. I was fortunate to stay in a lagoon access room which was a nice touch and if you are going to stay there, it is the way to go. The beds are horribly soft. So bad I slept on the floor a couple of nights. The staff is very attentive and is comitted to making your stay pleasant...it's just too old. The good news is that they are renovating there rooms later this year. Best part about the room is a very large tub in which you could order customized baths

After seeing the positive reviews here, I booked myself into the Sheraton. There is nothing you can't seriously fault this resort. However, I find the some commentators could have over-rated the hotel. I don't think the Westin is significantly inferior. In fact, I stayed at the Westin just 3 months back, and like it more as it is newer. Sheraton may look grand on the outside, but the property is quite old. I found the Nusa Dua property to be quite good for the money. I am a little late in this review (having visited a little over a year ago), however, I thought I would leave a post. The rooms are beyond stadard fare for the money. The location is great and, overall, a very good experience especially for the money. Hard to compare this property with the "super premium" properties also available south of Denpasar, however, if you are on a budget, yuo could do much worse than staying here! My husband and I stayed at the Sheraton in Nusa Dua in Feb 2005 for our honeymoon. We LOVED it. We have already made plans to come back every 5 years. The staff was unbelievable, so friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a honeymoon suite and had a lovely time at the restaurants. The spa was beautiful and fairly reasonable, the beachside massages were wonderful. Would reccomend getting up early and reserving a beachside cabana (first come first serve). True Paradise! By far, this hotel is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Rooms are super clean and tastefully decorated. Gardens, gazebos, and lagoons are just amazing. You feel like you are in a fairy tale. Service is excellent! People are very nice and always there to help you. Drinks at the bar could be better - they all sort of taste the same. Food, however, was amazing - especially the buffet breakfast! I will definitely return to this hotel and I highly recommend it!!!!

My family and I spent 5 nights at the Sheraton recently. The hotel was well maintained and small enough to ensure a feeling of exclusivityand peacefulness which was clearly absent in its neighbour the Westin. Service was excellent and the prices of food and drinks, though high, were not exorbitant. On the down side, the choice of restaurants and the room service menu were somewhat limited. Overall, the Sheraton was far superior to its immediate neighbours, namely Nusa Dua, Westin and Melia.

Just returned from Bali having stayed at the Sheraton Laguna, Westin and Kuta Paradiso. This was my third time in Bali. I have to say that Sheraton was by far the best hotel and I'm surprised that Westin, it's sister hotel, still exist knowing most guests would have compared the two. Sheraton's butler service was excellent and you could request for hot tea or coffee after a night out, past midnight for FOC.
