Quite pleased!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week at the convenient, quiet, and beautifully-run Villa Edera. The Lido location, in a residential area just steps from the Gran Viale, was perfect, and we had a real sense of being residents. The breakfast each morning was truly a feast---hot boiled eggs, prosciutto, cheeses, croissants, fresh fruits, cereals, pastries, and an endless, cheerfully-brought supply of the most important thing of all---coffee! The rooms were not very large, but after all, who goes to Venice to stay indoors? <br... more
Hotel Villa Edera -- A Hidden Gem!
A great little hotel The Hotel Villa Edera is a charming little hotel that will make any trip to Venice a true delight. We made our reservations several months in advance and everything was perfectly in order upon our arrival. The staff was attentive to our every need and very helpful with questions about restaurants and excursions in the Venice area. There are also several fine restaurants near by. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. For a special experience ask for the private room on the third floor. This is the best... more
Your booking was not confirmed !
We stayed here in the second week of April 2005. I was a bit alarmed on booking in to be told that they were unable to email me back to confirm my booking! However, as they were not full they left the booking open to see if I would turn up! It was very strange, especially as I had a print-out of the email actually confirming the booking. The hotel itself is 3 star and represents good value. Our room was not over large, certainly nowhere near as big as the one on the website. It was however clean and had very nice Venetian decor and... more
Incredible Value, Lovely Hotel
My husband and I only stayed 2 nights at this hotel, but were thoroughly impressed. This hotel was only a 5-10 min walk from the vaporetto stop and roughly 15 min from Piazza San Marco (via vaporetto). However we very much enjoyed riding in these "water buses" so it was more of a pleasure to have to ride them back and forth. The rooms were a pretty average size, for European hotels, but lavishly decorated with hand-blown Murano glass chandeliers and lamps and hand-painted desks and wardrobes. The bathroom was rather cramped and I could... more
Great location, staff not great
We stayed at this hotel for 4 days in March. Rooms were fine and did enjoy the big balcony in the sunshine. Gorgeous quiet location within close walking distance to everything. Found staff very unhelpful & would not advise taking restaurant recommendations from them. The rooms themselves are quite nice but was woken up constantly by cleaning staff in the hallway and a ringing phone outside our room. Would not go back to this hotel but definitely back to Lido.
Looks nice, but the service is bad!
We stayed at this hotel 3 nights in July 2004. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because it was reasonably priced and offered airconditioning, which is an absolute must in Venice in summer. At first we were pleased with our choice; the hotel is conveniently located near the vaporetto stop and looks quite luxurious. We loved our room to start with, but we soon noticed it was getting unbearably hot; apparently the airconditioning had broken down. The receptionist told us they were fixing it and that it would work again in the morning.... more
Much To Recommend
Staying on Lido instead of, for instance, San Marco, has a lot going for it, and this high-standard, medium-sized hotel offers all those benefits at a very reasonable price. The rooms were average for a modern hotel but lacked nothing in terms of convenience and luxury. The only less-than-ideal issues are that being 100metres inland from the quayside means you don't get the same view of the city that some of the quayside hotels offer and the breakfasts were a little on the meagre side. On the plus side, it's located on a very quiet... more
Cosy hotel
This hotel is beautifully presented. I think it has been refurbished in recent years and it is very nicely done - the rooms and bathrooms are really pretty and inviting. We stayed for 2 nights in late August 2004. The breakfast is good with a lot of variety. The location is good - right in the heart of Lido, a short walk from the boat. However it is 45 minutes to an hour by boat from the central station over to Lido, and vice versa. It is closer than that to St Mark's square, though. The staff of the hotel are pleasant.... more
Wonderful service!
This small hotel is located on a quiet corner in the Lido area, a five minute walk from the dock. The rooms are immaculate; the breakfast is generous. Best of all, the staff is extraordinarily helpful. We accidentally left our passports at the hotel. The staff went to great lengths to return them.
Great little hotel
Great little hotel in the Lido area of Venice. Just 10 mins from St Marks Square on the water taxi. We went in December and it was very quiet in the Lido. There are shops and a few coffee shops but the main shops are in St Marks Square. The hotel Edera is lovely and clean and quiet offering a continental breakfast and room service. The only thing i would ask for is to have tea and coffee facilities in our room, but apart from that everything was great. Would go again to this hotel and to the Lido especially in the summer when we could use... more
