Jun 2007, Mrs T Talbot

Just returned from our 7 night holiday - wow what a fab complex! Absolutely stunning grounds, two fantastic pools, activities day and night and superb food.
The entertainment teams were all excellent and the British team were so friendly and welcoming, thank you to Dan, Emily, & Kim who were all great.
Only problem encountered on the holiday was that the air con unit in our room was broken, the heat at night was just awful and my son got ill (viral throat infection) - but still made the most of all the facilities and would definitely return in the future.
Would recommend the resort to everyone.

May 2007, Miss N Wills

Well we've just come back from what was truly an amazing holiday!
We arrived on Thursday 10th May, and from then until Thursday 17th May, we did not see a single cloud in the sky! And believe me, we did look! The weather was superb, hitting roughly 27-30 degrees Celsius everyday!
The grounds were absolutely fantastic, and the scenery was out of this world. Every inch of the complex has been developed to an outstanding standard, with not one rock left untouched.
The infinity pool was gorgeous! Literally you laid there on your sunbed sunning it up, with a view of the pool as pristine as you like, and the sea in the background. It was like paradise, and at an absolute bargain price!
The all-inclusive food was perfect, with huge amounts of focus on presentation on the buffet table! Breakfast pancakes were a particular highlight, especially with chocolate and cherries on them!
The waiters were awesome! We had such a laugh. Big 'tesekkur' to Ilkay and the gang from "Cherry, apricot and lemon"! You guys were awesome!!!
All in all, this was an amazing holiday, and the best family holiday we've ever been on. Will definitely be returning in the near future!

May 2007, Mr M Renshaw

Just got back, great complex, lots to do during day, infinity pool a must!
The weather was great. The only drawback was the night time entertainment it was all for the French!
The food was excellent and a very good selection although a lot was leaning towards the French palette.
The complex is set in a hillside and there are lots of steps and hills to contend with so you need to be quite mobile.
There is a small town (Ozdere) about 20min walk away but that is all there is.
Overall we were there for a week and we had great weather and a good relaxing time.

May 2007, Mr T Mitchell

Well, went again this year to the Club Sultan. The Rep and Entertainment Team has changed.
The hotel was very well maintained and the facilities are all of a high standard. The only comment I have is that the laundry service, well wash service. Seven items just washed not ironed for 15.59euros.
The food was of a very good standard, the main restaurant had good food with good service. The Italian A-La Carte was very good but not an Italian in sight.
This year we have not only the French but Dutch Germans Danes and I believe I heard some Russians.
With more nations it is harder for the entertainment teams to perform. The British team were very talented but new and I am sure they will get polished as the season goes on.
The French Team are very polished in their act but, and it’s a big but, they do not sing any of the numbers, hope the CD equipment never fails. They also like to here their own voice with the mic too loud for the room. On one night a number of people left because they were too loud.
The water sports are good but they need to have another way to signal your time is up. Then they charge you extra for being late.
Be careful after midnight. The bar charges 4 Euros for a beer and you may get a shock when you book out.
All in all yes I would go back as there is plenty to do in the area.

A first class holiday enjoyed by all....
9 / 10
Nov 2006, Mrs J Holiday

A first class holiday enjoyed by all. The hotel itself is absolutely marvelous. Especially the pools, beaches and grounds. I went with my partner and our 6 year old daughter and we all had a truly wonderful time.
The main restaurant catered for everyone. There was a grill bar every lunch and evening meal which had steaks, fish, liver, pizza etc. There was another area which had a selection of traditional Turkish hot meals and a huge display of salads, cold meats and things like that. There was plenty of bread to have at each meal time and fruit and desserts in abundance! The salads and cold meats were even on display during breakfast time along with cereals, jams, honey, yoghurts etc. Something for everyone.
The other eating areas which were open during our stay were the Italian and Turkish restaurants in the evening which may be visited once per stay and booked in advance. We sampled the Italian and to be honest I wasn't very impressed. The Italian food they served was far too spicy for my taste buds and had been messed about with too much. We didn't get to the Turkish one. The remaining eating location was the poolside restaurant which served Burgers, meatballs, and pasta and chips. It was more than adequate if you were too busy sunning yourself to go to the main restaurant for lunch.
The room we stayed in on the same side as the restaurant was OK having a small fridge and hair dryer. I did visit a room on the other side of the resort and found it much more spacious and a lot fresher. The maid service which was excellent, was daily and towel changes were very regular. We were treated to a beautiful flower display on our beds one day.
The entertainment in the resort was mixed. There was a usual TC disco for the children and then the main entertainment. We enjoyed the French entertainment team and their brilliant shows. Jeff is something else. Bravo! The British reps tried very hard to involve us all but it was increasingly difficult with the season drawing to a close. Well done to Billy, Kerry, Natasha and Katie. The French teams tried very hard to involve all guests around the beach and pool throughout the day with aerobic classes, beach volleyball, and silly games.
We did have cause to contact a doctor during our stay due to my daughter becoming poorly with 'bug'. They were exceptional and dealt with us very well. She had become very ill in a short space of time and had to be put on a drip to be rehydrated. That was the only low point in the holiday.
The weather was fairly good to us especially late in the season. We had 3 cloudy days when sunbathing was not an option and 1 really bad day which was really cold, wet and windy.
The pools and beaches were beautiful. Especially the infinity pool which is spectacular. We had no troubles obtaining sun loungers at any time of the day at any of the locations and did not have to get up at daft o'clock to reserve them.
We were a little disappointed on arrival at Izmir airport with the Thomas Cook rep who we later discovered was the KidsWorld club rep. Somewhat abrupt and not overly helpful. Magical Marie she was not! She could have done with a bit more ummmph and enthusiasm!
Overall a wonderful holiday enjoyed by all. Don't forget 'Tea and Cakes' at 5pm in the Lobby Bar and the Cocktails served in the evening. An extra smile to the waiter ensures an extra strong and fancy cocktail!

What an amazing place, we loved it!...

Sep 2006, Not Specified

What an amazing place, we loved it! I'm quite a fussy eater yet still found something I enjoyed at every meal. I was saddened to hear some comments from other 'Brits' that 'the food was rubbish' What they meant was it wasn't British food. It is predominantly continental so you won't find egg, chips & beans!
The place is beautifully looked after, our accommodation was comfortable, spacious & cleaned daily. The grounds are a delight to wander in. The way the buildings are dotted around gives a lovely feeling of space. Everywhere was clean & welcoming. The open air seating area outside of the lobby bar is a delight. It feels like sitting outside a Taverna in a village, just watching the world go by, bliss!
Be sure to take advantage of the onsite Turkish bath, it's free. The British Thomas Cook team were a great bunch. Sadly being the minority they only get to perform one big show a week, the one we saw was really good to watch - they need to let these guys do more shows, if you're lucky enough to catch Billy, Kerry, Tasha or Katie anytime make the most of them! They're all stars in one way or another.
At the time we were there, the entertainers were also acting as reps, they did a really good job of it too, but please bear in mind that’s not their normal job.
We hear too often bad reports about the British abroad but the French guests here took things too far on the joint entertainment night, after cheering for their own team they then booed after Kerry had done a brief introduction & welcome to the British in the audience.
French guests apart I'd go back tomorrow.

Sep 2006, Miss J Smith

This hotel is fantastic. We spent two weeks here and were never short of things to do, however you do need to explore this resort as it is huge. The pictures of the resorts are all outdated and a new infinity pool and water slides have been added which unless you venture away from the main pool seen in the pictures you will not find. One recommendation would be to take your own tea bags as the tea is awful (the heroes of the week were the people leaving and handing out their teabags!). The food is not great but you get by with what there is, Turkish night the full spread comes out which is definitely worth trying.
The entertainment team are lovely people who really make you feel welcome, and we found that the French team were just as nice. Brahiem in particular is multi- lingual and will happily translate anything you don’t understand during the French entertainment.
The French are quite rude and you find the English do all stick together however you can find some nice French people and together it makes for quite a nice atmosphere.
This is definitely somewhere I would recommend to anyone and somewhere I would love to go back to. 10/10!

Sep 2006, Mr A Name

This hotel as a 90% French occupancy and the vast majority of activities are geared towards the French. If you cannot speak French, it’s hard luck on you.
If you are a non smoker this hotel is not for you, most of the French appear to smoke. The hotel rooms are poorly furnished and the cleaning leaves a lot to be desired. The British are segregated for daytime and evening entertainment, (which is garbage).
Overall I would suggest you give this hotel a miss, unless you can speak fluent French and smoke.

All inclusive: This is veiled in the...
8 / 10
Aug 2006, staffs

All inclusive: This is veiled in the brochure as food is only available at stated times and this should really be classed as full board with free drinks. Breakfast is 0700 to 1000 and I saw no signs of a late breakfast as stated. Food is then not available until 1pm at the two snack bars and consists only of chips burgers and spag bol with assorted salad and some trifle cakes. Lunch in the main restaurant is 1300 to 1430 and dinner is 1930 to 2130 after which no food is available in the hotel. This can be a problem for any diabetics and taking food out of the restaurant is prohibited but as we were missing our last meal on our final day and the prospect of airport food only we got some silver foil from the local supermarket and made up some rolls and baguettes at lunchtime for the trip home.
The food in main restaurant is absolutely superb and varied and the choice is amazing. Ten out of Ten for food quality and option and on Turkish night go straight to the outside section for the lamb and kebabs and wraps.
Ice creams: This is not available on this tariff but ice creams can be purchased from the lower pool shop kiosk at approx 3/4 lira for a cornetto. This shop is open between 1000 and 1700 and also sells newspapers if needed that will cost about 5 lira or £2
Drinks: There is no option to buy any other brands of beer or spirits and you have to have the locally produced beverages. The Beer is Efes that is stated to be 5.5% but having consumed several bucket loads to no effect to my consciousness then I can only assume I sweat it out or that it may possibly be watered down. My stomach certainly objected to drinking it after a while and I resorted to Brandy and Coke. The shorts measures are very large so get a small one or an extra mixer with it.
Hotel cleanliness: Cannot be faulted and rooms are cleaned what seems to be on a daily basis and towels changed if required.
Beach towels: For 5 Euros deposit per towel you can get a hotel beach towel from reception for use but can only change them once a week which is too long as they can get a bit smelly long before this.
Safe deposit hire: Cost of 15 Euros for the duration of your stay. You are given a magnetic device which goes inside the safe and allows you to enter your own personal digital code. However these are only fixed to the wardrobe shelf by small bolts and would not be too difficult to smash out if someone was really determined.
Security: First Class Security which is monitored on a 24hour basis all over this very, very large site by security guards who can be seen everywhere and always on the lookout wherever you go.
Location: Quite a few steps in places and due to the immense area that this hotel covers then be prepared for a few walks to the main areas if you are in the newly built remote areas although there is a "Boat Bus" which travels around these remote roads and is easily flagged down for pick up and drop off as required.
Some of the apartments have quite a few steps to get to and some areas are not suitable for wheelchairs and those who find walking difficult.
Hotel staff: All are very friendly and helpful and most accommodating and appreciative if you try out a few words in Turkish and will love the kids more so if they try too. The staff seem to speak French more to cater for the French Majority here but many are learning English and love it when you help them out.
Entertainment: The make of nationalities at this hotel certainly favour the French by what seems to be 75/25 to English and others.
The Entertainment Staff are called Animation Teams and there is a big, big divide between the English and French Teams.
We felt quite sorry for the English Reps who were required to request that The English attend the French entertainment evening and when they were not allowed to organise any other entertainment in opposition. However The English are made to feel completely alienated as no attempt was made by the French Team to make these events a multi language / nationality evening.
When the English reps put on a kids show following a French show the Amphitheatre quickly emptied of French after their show to attend French entertainment that was clearly in opposition to the English show.
This sort of behaviour by the French on a regular basis constantly wound up all the English Guests who then complained to their reps who had no authority or say so to change it and we all felt quite sorry for them who were clearly being outdone and outmaneuvered every time by the French Animation Team.
The English reps did put on some great entertainment for us and That Boy Billy can dance and sing the nuts off the French team who clearly like the sound of their own voices and have a chip on their shoulders.
Natasha sings like a bird but need a few more dancing lessons from Billy for coordination but truly enters into the spirit for entertainment purposes.
Would we go back: Yes but only if there were not so many French there who are quite rude and expert at pushing in queues and not waiting their turn, even their kids do it. However we did meet some very nice French people who were not so bad mannered.
Sun beds: nightmare: If you want to get a sun bed at the top (infinity pool) then be prepared to get up at 6.30 in the morning. Yes its absolute madness to get one of these places.
The two Private beaches are quite deserted during the day and sunbeds are always available here if you miss out and lie in.

Aug 2006, Miss K Lowe & Adams

This was the best holiday ever! The food was really ravishing! And there was so much to choose from. Everything tickled my taste buds.
The entertainment was fab especially Billy the dancer lol! The water aerobics was brilliant and the French instructor translated everything for us few English people. The hotel was very hygienic - no litter anywhere! And very safe, with security on 24/7. As well as the excellent entertainment for the younger children, there is also a disco which opens later for the older kids. Which is brilliant!
Excellent music! The bar service is excellent, you are guaranteed to get served very quickly! There is also many bars to choose from. The rooms are astonishing and very spacious, and include a flat screen television with satellite. All of the English reps are extremely friendly as well, they are such a laugh and get along great with the kids.
We have just come back from our 1 week stay at the hotel. We liked it so much we couldn’t find a better hotel when booking for next year, so booked for a two week stay at club sultan.

Just got back from a 2 week all...

Jun 2006, Mr F Anseau 'The Tank'

Just got back from a 2 week all inclusive stay at the club sultan and I cannot fault the place. The best holiday ever. The hotel is impressive and very clean, the rooms are spacious and there is a maid service every couple of days.
The all inclusive deal is perfect and the food is of the highest quality. I was a bit apprehensive about the food but from the first day I knew I was going to have no problems. There is a bit of everything for all tastes and Turkish night on a Wednesday is a treat. There are also 3 a la carte restaurant where you can eat once during your stay. Greek, fish and Italian. The Greek was my favourite. The waiters working around the complex are fantastic and can't do enough for you, they work extremely hard and always have a smile on their faces.
There are two big pools and two private beaches with enough sun beds to go around. There is a 'quiet' pool and also another one where activities are organised daily. At the beach there are pedalos, canoes, parasailing, jet skis and loads of other activities.
The English animation team (Thomas Cook) are fantastic and there also hold a kids clubs for the younger ones. They organise trips and I can certainly recommend trips to Kusadasi for bargain hunting (haggle all the way) and also to the aqua park which is a great laugh. The reps: Billy, Tash, Kerry, Donna, Sarah and Russell are all a great laugh and very friendly, should you have any problems they will sort it out for you straight away. The hold daily activities around the beach and pool and also perform a different show every night which will make you laugh all the way.
All in all a fantastic hotel, great weather, great people and I can't wait to go back. Book and you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic holiday, certainly not your usual run of the mill 'All Inclusive' resort. I couldn't fault the place!
Fab accommodation, wonderful food, friendly staff, and 2 pools to die for. Enjoyed it so much would even consider paying full brochure price to go back (never thought I would ever hear myself saying that!).
Only spent 7 days at resort, but to be honest I don’t think my liver or waist band could have stood anymore :) As they say in Turkey 'Harika'.
