Hotel was more like a train station, pool has a tide mark, furniture in reception badly in need of cleaning, room was very small, damp, and musty, we could not sleep in the room more than 1 night, as we found breathing rather difficult in the morning, bedding was a bit smelly, wall paper hanging off, damp marks on ceiling & walls, shower room & toilet badly positioned & badly in need of replacing fittings, harvest beetles coming up through the drain in the shower, no air conditioning, we did have to upgrade to the Fiesta Beach hotel same resort but better, could not fault this hotel, but it was a further cost of £339, on top of £838 for 7 days, we have written to Thomson and to date they are advising us not to book a last minute holiday but to book from their brochure.

Just came back from 2 weeks from the Amfora beach hotel all inclusive and I can say I was disappointed.
The hotel itself was clean and the rooms were basic. They were cleaned everyday but they are just basic rooms so if you looking for something special then go elsewhere.
Also I must comment on the hotel restaurant food which was very disappointing. It was not hot at any sitting and if you’re eating chicken thats been lukewarm for a hour you’re asking for trouble as our party found out. The bar ran out of shorts quite often so you had to drink what was available. Thank goodness there were loads of restaurants near. The John Smiths pub next door did excellent food and they were cheap but like us, we paid for all inclusive so we spent most of our money on food.
If you’re planning to go to Sunny Beach book 4 star or more. Hopefully the food will be better. Also there is plenty of restaurants in Sunny Beach that can be reached via the land train service for 2 levs till 12 pm.
Overall it was a basic holiday, clean enough but the hotel food let it down very much.
