Comfort Roosevelt Hotel

We have just come back from four nights at the Roosevelt and agree with most of the other reviewers. The bedroom and shower room were clean and adequately sized and were very similar to a UK Travelodge. We were out all day and needed nothing more. The wall safe costs 2 euros a day. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location in the town centre is good. It is less than 15 minutes stroll from the Old Town, the Promenade des Anglais and the shops. We spent a week at the Roosevelt in December 2004 and were so impressed with the staff support and the hotel's location that we are returning here for the Carnival in February. All reception staff were friendly and had good english and, amazingly, for a so called budget hotel the hotel was wifi enabled. The combination of the staff and internet access meant there was no shortage of opportunities for sights to see and restaurants to eat out. I stayed in the Roosevelt over Christmas 2004. My room was a reasonable size, well furnished AND with a working TV. A simple but much appreciated facility was available at the Roosevelt - the supply of tea, coffee, milk and sugar (with biscuits) each day in your room. My only negative comment with regards to room relates to the shower/bathroom, this was a little less than satisfactory but adequate. Hotel room was quite small but very clean and in the perfect location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There were no extra ammenities, but it was very affordable. Being first time travelers to Europe we felt very safe there.

I stayed in the Comfort Roosevelt for 2 nights in November. I found the hotel to be very good value for money. It was cheap but was clean and provided a good breakfast. The hotel is also in a very good location. Its relatively close to the sea front and also the train station. Both are within walking distance. Also the area where it is located seemed quite safe at night time. The staff were also very friendly. I would certainly stay there again if I am ever back in Nice

Recently returned having spent 4 nights in this centrally located hotel. Absolutely excellant value for money. Booked through expedia, pay 3 nights get the 4th night free offer. Spotlessly clean and exceptionally pleasant, helpful staff. Had booked another hotel initially but changed when we read the reviews for both. So glad we did! Would definately recommend this hotel.

My husband and I first stayed at the Hotel Roosevelt in September 2004. It was the frist day of our first trip to France, and we were relieved that the front desk staff was very friendly, as we don't speak French. And, I feel compelled to report that throughout our entire stay in France (including Provence and Paris) the majority of French people in the tourism industry (hotels, restaurants, shops, train stations, etc.) were perfectly friendly. We stayed here from 24/11/04 - 01/12/04 booked flights and hotel through expedia, excellent choice of hotel location easy access for airport bus, local bus, long distance bus and train station, many bars and restaurants all within five minutes walk or less from the hotel. The Staff were polite and helpful and full of knowledge on where to go and what to see. Definately recommend this hotel and location for a base, we went to Ventimille in Italy, Monaco, Antibes, Cannes and Grasse, we also did the city bus tour.

We seldom stay at hotels that are less than three star, and our two nights (11/5-7/2004) at the two star Comfort Hotel Roosevelt reminded us of why this is true. The location was convenient, and the people at the desk were friendly (although not accurate in their travel directions to the Chagall Museum). The price was unbeatable: a room with breakfast was about 40 Euros less than any other place we considered. My friend and I stayed in the Hotel Roosevelt for 4 nights in November which we enjoyed immensely. We were just board only so we did not pay 8 euros for the breakfast. There are plenty of cafes and it was nice to walk over to the flower market and have breakfast or brunch there as we had as we don't like to get up to early.
