A beautiful designed and furnished hotel. We arrived by helicopter from Nice, and the whole experience made us feel like VIPs (and not the EasyJet travellers that we were). The hotel was spotless, the complimentary cocktails wonderful, the house speciality is a chocolate... more

This hotel was absolutely beautiful! The room was clean tidy and ridiculously spacious (particularly considering we had the cheapest one too!). The staff were very friendly and helpful even offering us free champagne since it was our honeymoon (although the tour operator... more

Excellent excellent excellent
I paid €230 per night and worth every penny. David Coultard part ownes the hotel and he has put a sense of pride in this hotel. Staff were excellent (apart from the breakfast ones who looked like you were an inconvenience to them). Rooms were plush with a massive bed and great views over the sea and the Heli Pad and if you can find it Louis II Stadium . This hotel is a must geat from start to finish. Cant wait to go back
best hotel in monaco !!
This is the best kept sercret in monaco !!! the hotel is accross the road from the heli pad from nice it is up in the mountains but you can easily walk from the harbour to the hotel approx 10 min stroll. if arriving by train from nice you need to get a cab from the station but it's very reasonable The room is amazing just watch out for the mini bar in the room £5 for a jar of m&m ouch !!!! we very cheekily went to the supermarket round the corner and stocked up on beers etc as the mini bar was VERY VERY expensive think £4 for a kit kat and it wasn't even a 4 stick one !!!! but the hotel is great the star always bend over backwards to help you and the breakfasts are great they you can have it in the room and it's v posh... this is a great hotel for couples on a romantic weekend try get a room overlooking the sea !!! hotelbook.com also do great deals on this hotel ... you also have to go for lunch at cafe de paris !!!!!
Only 3-star? Unbelievable!
I'm a fairly seasoned traveller, both for business and leisure, and this hotel easily surpassed many 5-stars I've stayed in. The decor is modern and tasteful. The staff were helpful and friendly but not amazingly so. My room was on the small side and was unfortunately overlooked by some of the other hotel rooms plus an apartment block, which meant that I couldn't really enjoy the sea view (this could have been easily remedied by rearranging the furniture, which I found a little puzzling) but I did have the opportunity to visit one of the better rooms which have a sea view and balcony. The bed was wonderful and the bathroom very clean and pleasant. One tiny niggle (in common with many hotels) was a lack of well-lit mirrors for applying makeup, which I always think is one of the little well thought-out touches that makes the difference between a good hotel and a great one. I would definitely recommend this hotel over other hotels I've stayed in in the area (Port Palace, Marriott).
100% Fantastic
WOW. Wonderful hotel, excellent service, the rooms are stunning and the staff so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend. Am planning on a return trip later this year. Best hotel I have ever stayed in. Great atmosphere, and you are treated as a VIP guest from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave.
Website Booking Problem
We wanted to stay at the Columbus having read all the rave reviews, and I made a booking via their website that was accepted and confirmed, so I next booked flights and email the hotel to book transfers. Next I receive an email back from them saying that there is a problem with the website booking system and in fact there is no availability for my selected dates at all! Added to which I have to go back into their system to make the cancellation as they cannot do this for me. As far as I am aware the system was still showing availability and allowing bookings to be made one week before we had intended to stay there even though they were full. In all a dissapointing experience, especially in light of the other reviews.
Great Hotel
The Columbus was great - the rooms were excellent value for money - clean and modern with a chic atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely reccomend this to anyone going to Monaco. The only disadvantage is that it is slightly outside of the heart of Monte Carlo - it wasn't a problem for me but for some the 15 minute walk to the casino/ harbour might be annoying. . .
A Superb Hotel
I've now stayed in the Columbus four times, mainly when over on business and it really would be picking to find any faults. I've not picked up the tab for my stays but I believe the prices are pretty good for Monaco. It's not right in the centre which is probably a good thing but as Monaco is very small anyway (you can walk the length of the place in an afternoon comfortably enough) that's not important. It's in Fontveille which is the second port of the country, in the shadow of the Palace. Facilities are perfect. There's an outdoor swimming pool and an private indoor gym. There's a cinema within the hotel also. The bar and restaurant are superb and the staff are without equal. Very friendly and helpful and almost all speak English, some of them perfectly. I've graduated up the floors from my first visit until I stayed in a top floor suite last time but they are all excellent. Once had a broken balcony door that didn't lock properly but it was a very small problem. The showers in the rooms are out of this world with the biggest shower head I've ever seen. Monaco isn't a place to stay for very long as there isn't fundamentally all that much to do or see there but I wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel for whatever stay you do have.
Superb, cannot beat it!!
The finest hotel I have ever stayed in. Well located in quiet area of Monaco. The rooms are very tastefully decorated (modern decor). Staff are extremely pleasant, and go the extra mile... even helped unlock a damaged suitcase for us on arrival!! The restaurant is excellent and the bar is fantastic... the Chocolate Martini's are a must try!! Hotel has a pool, great views and a terrific little gift shop. It's part-owned by F1 driver David Coulthard... he clearly knows what he is doing!!
Fantastic, could not fault it!!
We stayed in Columbus for 4 nights and could fault nothing about it - the staff, location and food were all 5 star. The gardens are very well tended and the Bar area is a great chill out zone. We are planning to return this year again.
Columbus Hotel. Simply the best hotel we have stayed in.
We have stayed in a lot of hotels over the last 25 years, and we both aggree that the columbus is by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in. We spent 2 nights here last weekend, the staff were of unparralled quality and appearance and were always willing to help, nothing was too much trouble. The public areas were all first class and our room was fantastic. For the price we paid, this hotel is great value for money, if you appreciate being treated very very well. The weekend was capped off by the heliport being within 100m of the hotel, so we booked a return trip to nice airport to finish off a fanatastic weekend.
