stayed in this pit for a week horrid worse than a pontins holiday. They use TAP WATER in the drinks machines for juice. Cheap copy cola and you only get bottled water free if your German and waitress serve is non existent for english. I had to pay or buy off site i wasnt drinking tap they use a dirty hose to fill the drink dispensers up and tastes weird. YUK. The food is horrid same for lunch and dinner. they think its funny to tell vegatarians which meals are suitable only to find bits of MEAT in it.Ended up with just rice or chips. The staff treat you like dirt. The place is tatty rusty chairs at pool bar, filthy tables. Rooms stink of smoke, dirty with very noisy crickets at night. Maids dont like cleaning dust under bed so thick and thick black stinky mould in fridge which obv never has been cleaned ever. Never seen pool being cleaned either. Hygiene of staff and site is a health hazard. Millions of ants by sunbeds. No entertainment. ice cream once a day and only for kids. AI a joke ended up eating out and having to buy proper carton juice from the shop at great expense. To get to the beach you go under a stinking tunnel more like a sewer. Rep from thomas cook was totally useless never on site and didnt care when i complained esp about tap water!!. Airport total rip off. never again.

4th visit in 10 years and it gets better

This was our fourth Visit to this hotel complex in the last 10 years our last visit was 3 years ago. I am pleased to say that it gets better each time we visit. This time it was apparent that the bungalows have been given a coat of paint inside and tastefully decorated with new curtains. The toilet areas around the pool have been gutted and fully re-furbished and so have the quiet pool bar toilets this gives a more hygienic feel about the place. The food this year is again the best we have had I defy anybody not to find something they can eat, there is the snack bar at 12 noon until 2pm with Pizza , Burgers ( to order) Kebab meat, Spaghetti, chips, salads and sweets. Then the Restaurant opens for lunch at 12.30 until 2.30 with lots of variety and sweets to die for. Be prepared to come back a few pounds heavier. The buffet restaurant opens at 7.30 Pm to 9.30 PM in the evening and if you want a table outside to get a view of the lovely sunsets you need to be there when it opens as the outside tables fill up quickly. The waiter service is a bit hit and miss so if you are thirsty order a double round or help yourself at the wine barrels or water cooler its sometimes easier.
The animation team are a really friendly bunch and encourage everyone to get involved in the daytime entertainment animation which includes things like Darts, Mini Golf, Bocca ( Boule), Vollyball , Waterpolo, Shooting , Archery, Ping Pong , Tennis and football.
Because we have been to Turkey 14 Times some of the Evening animation sketch shows which again is done by the animation team were familiar to us so we did not find them that amusing but the team do work hard to provide some variety. The Fakir show and the Turkish night were very good and the Turkish Dancers and Belly Dancer Aiesha was the best we have seen.
I can honestly say that I did not see one waiter who did not smile in the 2 weeks we were there and our favourite waiter was Selcuk in the ADA Bar which used to be called the sports bar and is next to the Zoo he was always helpful and provided a good service working from 9Pm to 9Am. The two girls in that bar are also very good as is the girl who works the bar in the quiet pool and she loves the small children.
We had no problem getting a sunbed at anytime of day in the hotel or on the beach and the watersports guys bring you a mattress and there is a bar next to the beach area which is convenient.
If you are disabled it is easy to get around the hotel as the hotel has disabled rooms and is mostly on level ground.
If you intend to book one of the speciality restaurants I suggest you book as soon as you arrive if you are only there for a week as they don’t operate every night. The Panorama Restaurant is across from the main hotel overlooking the beach. This specialises in seafood and Sushi dishes ( not on the same night) the Sofra Restaurant specialises in Italian and Turkish dishes ( not on the same night) this is another reason to book early. These cost an additional 2 Euro per Person.
For those who have been here before I should point out that the hotel is no longer 24Hr all inclusive. It finishes at 12pm but you can still buy drinks and charge them to your room. The upside of this is that it has reduced the binge drinkers from the hotel. Our flight was 3 Hours late and we should have arrived at the hotel at 11pm but got there at 2am this meant we would have had to pay for drinks but the waiter used some common sense and gave us a welcome coffee. Also you used to be able to get bottles of water from the ADA bar to take back to your room these are no longer free and you have to pay for them, however if you Keep the two bottles out of your Mini Bar which again are chargeable but not on the first day, you can fill these up at the bars around the complex including the ADA bar during the night free of charge, think positive it is reducing the plastic to landfill.
There is a safe deposit box in the room and it costs 2 euro per day to hire.
The hotel Management have a real visible presence here and the Hotel Manager Metin Tekin eats in the restaurant at the same time as the guests which keeps the staff focused on what they should be doing also the Guest Relations Manager Bahar Toben is really helpful and will try to resolve any issues you may have and also book reservations for the restaurants and her office is next to the General Managers office to the left of the reception desk.
I cannot stress enough to bring enough sun cream with you, Nivea suncream here is £18 for a 200ml bottle and it is very hot so I suggest high factor nothing less than 20 or you will probably burn, we went through 5 200ml bottles in 2 weeks. There is a shop on site and a market just across the road for Drinks and souvenirs etc but I also suggest you take a look in the Garage 50yds to the left of the entrance as they have a good selection of stuff including shaving , washing, footware, snacks and drinks, Inflatable Crocs etc.
The hotel is about 10 Mins on a dolmus into Kusadasi cost 2.5Tl where there is a good selection of bars and restaurants if you fancy a change, I can recommend Kings Place on the left 50 Yds past the harbour and the Kalyon Restaurant when you get of the Dolmus at centrum High st walk to the top of the st turn right about 50 yds on the left with lots of Chinese lanterns outside beautiful atmosphere at night. Both of these offer a free pick up and return to hotel which is useful as the last dolmus to Selcuk is 11.00pm and taxis after midnight are expensive.
The Market in Kusadasi is on a Wednesday and the dolmus takes you straight there on that day. Don’t buy at the first stall shop around for the best price and compare beware of some of the handbags which have a lining like paper as they fall to bits in a fortnight. As you go through the market at the end you can take a left turn and this will take you down to the centre or Port.
The shops in the port are nice but not cheap.
If you want a less in your face experience of a market then try the Selcuk Market on a Saturday you could combine this with a trip to Ephesus which is only 5 mins before Selcuk on the dolmus. Journey Time 25 Mins cost 3.5Tl. Where you get off the dolmus for Ephesus you could get a taxi upto the top Gate then walk through Ephesus about 2hours is enough time. When you come out of the coach park take a right and follow the road for about 400yds to the main road where you get the dolmus back or onto the market. Do it early as it get hot later in the day.
The water sports on the beach include Jet Ski 35 Euro for 15 Mins, Pedalo free of charge, only 1 windsurfing board whilst we were there. You can do a 2 hr speed boat ride for 35 Euro each but I would suggest you do one of the daily boat trips from the Marina 100yds past the main port . These leave at 9.30 daily at a cost of £10 for a full day including lunch so easy and cheaper than booking with operator. If you want a taxi to Ephesus do not pay more than 20 Euro from the hotel as this is what it costs from the town centre dolmus station. Always agree a price before you take a taxi in Turkey, its about 12-15tl for a taxi into Kusadasi from the hotel.
There is a disco on site and the Havana Disco across the road which opens at 11pm and has a better atmosphere at the weekend when the locals go in. The hotel staff also go in on a Saturday night. The drinks are pricey at 10Tl for a small beer and 5Tl for a small bottle of water. You can sometimes blag a free cocktail off Adem when he comes around the hotel looking for custom and it is definitely worth a visit.
The beach is sand and pebbles and I would strongly recommend beach shoes particularly if you are going in for a dip. The sea usually gets choppy in the afternoon so waterwings and rings for young children will be needed.
Whilst we were there a special dinner was laid on for repeat Guests which was tastefully done by the pool and the tables and chairs were set out like a wedding Breakfast. Well done Bahar for arranging all this.
A special hello to the animation team particularly Orkan, Marina, Sam, Jacob and all the other members from Elvis!!. Also hello to all the lovely people we spoke to whilst we were there including Maggie and Alan (mind your M&Ms) and my Boccia team mate Jean francois or Jeff as we called him.
The journey time to and from the airport at Izmir is 1 Hour apx 2hrs and 15 mins from Bodrum. Take a roll from the quiet pool bar on your return to airport as it is not cheap at any Turkish airport i.e 17TL for 2 small coffee. Rolling tobacco is cheaper at Izmir than at Gatwick or on aircraft but spirits and perfumes are not so cheap.
Another great holiday at the Kustur Club, we will be back and look forward to seeing some old friends again.

Never a 5 star and Never Again

Family of 4, me, my wife and 2 boys aged 9 and 12, we booked last minute so really did not read the reviews, oh I wish we had! 5 STAR? Never, Turkish 5 star maybe, English, 2-3 at the best. The rooms are small and cramped so we up graded on the first day, in hotel terms these rooms were no better than a B and B on the Isle Of Dogs! After the first 3 days of bbq burnt food we decided to eat out in the evenings, kebab, chicken, and something that looked like meat was served up everyday. All 4 of us,and other families we met had some sort of stomach upset during our stay, on the last day we found out why, the "fresh water dispensers" were filled up with a hose from the taps at 1.30 in the morning when guests are asleep, I took a picture of it and went to reception, they could not careless! The staff will do every and anything to keep guests away from the bar with terrible entertainment at the amtitheater, (but the entertainment staf do try hard) This resort is for people who are on a budget, middle-aged who still crave 18-30 holidays, who dont care what they eat as long as it fills em up, free cheap warm lager, screaming kids at the pool all day, and somewere just to lay your head, but if you can put up with the crap, it is for you. The holiday was fantasic for the kids, they had the best holiday ever, the entertainment staff are very good catering for them all day everyday, especial thanks to Murat, Foo Foo, and the rest. Met some great people as well who felt the same as us, Hi Fred and Emma! Kusadasi? na, dont do it there are a lot better places.
Never again

Went on holiday here with my husband and 3 daughters (aged 15, 12 and 8). Holiday village was clean and tidy. You aren't told this but if you ask, you can upgrade to a family room with two bedrooms and a balcony. The standard rooms are cramped and the staff expected 5 of us to fit in there. The food is of a high standard, all properly cooked, a good range and lots of it. Entertainment staff are absolutely AMAZING, working around the clock to keep everyone happy. My 15 year old daughter asked me to say a big hello to fufu, muhrati, ican and cherie, and that she misses them. The poolside area is great. Lovely and clean, I was extremely impressed (judging off previous foreign holiday experiences) when a young child excreted in a pool seperated from the main one but the water still flowed into it. The staff evacuated the whole pool and cleaned it. The only letdown was the evening entertainment, it was fun however, aimed at the majority of the guests. Every night the entertainment team asked the guests to shout when they mentioned they guest's country. On one night, over 200 Belge & Turkish people, around 20 Germans, 11 French, 10 Swedes and only 9 British (our family and another family). Not everyone went to the show but my daughters found out that there were only 4 other British families. This was a downside for the kids making friends, but it was nice that all of them stuck together. Definately reccomended for a family holiday but please don't take young children as in July, temperatures reaced 52 degrees celcius and it is quite unbearable. If you want a quiet relaxing holiday, Kustur is NOT for you at all. If you want an action-packed, fun, exciting holiday with lots of singing, dancing, partying and having a great time, definately get to Kustur!
If you go in to Kusadasi, visits to both Planet Yuca (who serve PROPER sausages, a God send in Turkey) and Murphy's Irish bar (serve all home comforts, and give you a free taxi home) are an absolute MUST!

Stayed at Kustur Club Sep 09 We were a mixed group of 5 Adults and 2 Children aged 6 & 9.
Having booked on Teletext with Fleetway Travel we were apprehensive but must say that reading the majority of the reviews eased our minds. The plus signs as far as we were concerned were the Accomodation,Food,Location,Staff, must say a big big thanks to Maxim & Miriam who operate the speed boat trips for an excellent experience and Maxims really nice disposition very accomodating and nothing was too much trouble to him. Our thanks also go to ALL the staff who were only too pleased to help.We can all pick faults but our biggest minus was the coach trip from Bodrum Airport.
As far as stars go, ones 5 Star will be anothers 2/3 Star we suggest you go and try it out yourselves our opinion is it deserves a very good rating.

I took my "little" 13 year old son for a week on an all inclusive holiday to Kustur holiday club. Its the most amazing place I have been to so far, definitely worth every penny. The Staff was friendly, the food out of this world and catered for every taste. The accommodation was lovely and clean. Can recommend it with confidence, would go again. But its mainly for families, single parents can get a bit lonely so I recommend plenty of books to read while sunbathing. There was entertainment every night for young and old. We had a brilliant time and enjoyed every minute of it. Definitely 5*. If you want to go on excursions, there is a full programme for the more energetic person. We just chilled and did hop over to Greece for the day and checked out their beach!
Well done Kustur, keep up to the reputation.

  • Advice: easy to get to by local transport
  • Activities: didnt get a chance as food exellent in Kustur, do some of the trips, worth it.

I stayed in a 5 Star Hotel last year in Turkey and this is no where near a 5 Star.Probably at best a 3 star.Although there is plenty of food it is not of great quality. The Dining room is like a Madhouse during Breakfast and Dinner.
The resort itself is very clean though.
Some staff are friendly others just totally ignore you,Although the entertainment team work hard, the entertainment is pretty poor.
The Garden rooms are a bit like Butlins.
My wife mislaid her Glasses, although we reported it at the reception,no one bothered to get back to us and inform us that they had been handed in.A friend who was passing happened to see the receptionist with a selection of Sun Glasses which included my Wifes in a Silver case.On receipt of them I waited 10 minutes to sign for them and was eventually told it was ok.
Bodrum Airport very very expensive 5 Euros for a can of Coke.
Overall Holiday ok,probably good if you have kids.Would not go back to this resort.

Great hotel, great facilities, great food - a fab holiday

We booked Kustur the week before we were due to travel so got what we saw to be the most amazing bargain!
The transfer time from Bodmin International is just over 2 hours but most buses do have a stop for around 20 minutes en route.
As we arrived at around 7pm we wanted a swim so my husband and step son (15) went onto the private beach and had a swim in the sea.
The restaurant is open until around 21:30 so we thought we had plenty of time to get something to eat after a long day of travel. However the food was pretty poor when we arrived about 21:15 and we wondered where we had come to.
The second evening however and every evening after that we always got there before 20:00 and the food was really good! Lots of choice in the main restaurant so no need to visit any of the specialty ones.
The room itself was pretty basic, one main room with a double and a single with a bathroom and small balcony. The rooms though are cleaned everyday by a maid so are always very clean. Also the onsite cleaning staff are always around, sweeping the main areas, cleaning the sunbeds etc every evening/morning. They also clean the sunbed area in the daytime, collecting cups etc (the drinks outside are served in plastic glasses - great idea to avoid breakage)
We found no shortage for sunbeds - even getting three together didn't seem to be a problem - we stayed the first week in August.
As part of the AI we got free local drinks from 10:00 - 00:00 hrs at the main pool bar. At the quiet pool they also had a mini self service bar with soft drinks, beer, wine and a tea and coffee machine.
There are 2 pool areas at the hotel and the private beach. The main pool being quite loud and busy during the day - this is the area where most of the "entertainment" took place. Also this pool had water slides. The other pool was the quiet pool which had a childrens area and also a larger pool The private beach had water sport facilities such as ringo, jetski, windsurfing etc. My husband and stepson did ringo and used the jetskis which they had a great time on - this does include an extra charge though.
The entertainment team were great. All number of things to keep people entertained throughout the day such as:
Aqua aerobics
Shuffle board
Table tennis
Water polo
Pool games
Sundance
Football
Basket ball
Volley ball
Step aerobics
Archery
Bowls
All these free
Also, if you have smaller children there is the mini club in the day time (no experience of this but we saw a few children coming out that seemed like they had enjoyed this)
In the evening after dinner there is the mini disco followed by the entertainment team show - this isn't our scene but judging by the applause coming from the onsite amphitheater it seemed to be pretty good! Around the main pool there was a guy playing guitar every night except Sundays.
Also from 00:00 - 02:00 there was the onsite Havana Disco - another thing we didn't make use of but seemed lively enough.
My only downside was that I went to the Turkish bath that is on site. It was 75 lira for a Turkish bath and a massage. Within 2 hours of leaving, I broke out into a hideous all over rash - I went back the next day to show the owner who apologised and gave me a free massage with aromatherapy oils to see if this would help to calm down my skin so to be fair they did try to make amends - If you have sensitive skin of any kind make sure you see if they can do a skin test in advance - the massage is great though!
I would recommend Kustur to all - not sure what the full price payers would think but if you could get it at the price we did you will be more than happy! We had a totally funfilled and relaxing week. Lots for the boys to do and plenty of "me" time too.

What a fab place, we booked it last minute after trawling the net and boy we got lucky. All inclusive meant that we only paid out for an ice cream each day.
The staff were great, very friendly and lots of them working around the clock tom keep the place spick and span.
I had my childrem 11 and 4 as well as their Nana and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The entertainment team were fab, lots of fun day nadnight without being overbearing.
Food was excellent with a good variety around the different restaurants and cafes etc.
The main pool was fab with its water slides, the kids and I spent hours each day in the pool without getting bored, partly because of the entertainment team.
The trip from the airport was around 3 hours but was worth it.
Job well done, Kuster Club.
