Recently arrived back from a...

Jun 2007, Mr M Poole

Recently arrived back from a fortnight at the Kustur Club resort and generally had a really good time.
On arrival there was a distinct smell of something not so nice in the air and we thought it may be sewerage and became a little concerned, however this disappeared but occasionally re-appeared now and again over the 2 weeks, but not enough of an issue to really complain.
The complex is in a great location about 10 mins away from main area of Kusadasi on dolmus (1.5 lira) it is made up of apartments and bungalows - all of which are set in lovely well maintained grounds. It has its own stretch of private beach which is sand and shingle.
The beach area is clean and has recently been awarded a blue flag. Motorised watersports are available at a cost ( £8.00 for the banana boat or rings ride and around I think it was £25.00 for jet ski)canoe's and pedal boats are part of the all inclusive package and are readily available - the guys that look after the beach and it's amenities are all friendly and helpful.
There are a number of bars and help yourself drinks stations on the complex, surprisingly the alcoholic drinks were very good especially the draught Efes lager - no real problems having to queue - in fact on the evening there would be a full waiter service, generally the staff with exception of one or two grumps were quite friendly.
We have been on 8 all inc holidays and I have to say the food was probably the worst we have had although you would not starve - it seemed very repetitive and more tailored to the Russian / German guests who make up the vast majority of the people there.
There is quite a good choice of food particularly salads - the deserts though were poor - the best food was between 12.00 and 4pm at the pool ice creams only available for one hour during the day although very cheap at the on-site shop.
Don't let the comments about the food put you off - it is just compared to previous hotels and as I say more than edible.
Rooms are nice and clean and maids are in every single day. Pools were super the slides kept kids happy plenty of sunbeds and chairs.
Entertainment team are good - always something to do with something for everyone, there's a show on every night, won't be to all tastes but worth a look in.
The prices in Turkey are going up and up every year - a full English at the bar / restaurant over the road will set you back 13 lira (£5.00).
We went into Kusadasi central into bar street and a pint bottle of Efes is 7 lira(£3.00) needless to say we did not venture out much but towards the end of holiday went further along the coastal road to Ladies Beach(highly recommended) and found the Sherwood Bar - £2.00 for breakfast and £1.00 a pint - more like the Turkey we love and know! - Friendly staff and lovely food with a great view over the bay.
We love Turkey and the Turkish people it was our first time to this area - I wouldn't completely rule out returning but prefer the Fethiye, Icmeler and Olu Deniz areas.

Overall a good holiday and great value through "On the beach" travel.

Booked flights and accommodation for...
9 / 10
Jun 2007, cagey

Booked flights and accommodation for a week at Kustur Club through Dawson and Sanderson's 'Fly and Stay' service and found I'd got my holiday quite a lot cheaper than most of the people I met.
Plus... and this was a big plus, Dawson and Sanderson had booked me an extra night's accommodation which was much needed as others had to leave their rooms at midday on the last Thursday, but flight transfers were not picking us up until the early hours of Friday.
Some other people had been told to book their extra day once they arrived ... but rooms could not be had even for substantial amounts of money so I would recommend booking the extra night before you go if your flight times are similar.
Other than the rather difficult flight times we had a great holiday ... Kustur Club is set in very beautiful gardens ... all immaculately kept. It's low rise so felt relaxing and ideal for small children and the rooms were large, well decorated and furnished and clean.
We had a double bed, single and put up bed in our family room and there was still plenty of space to move about.
Hotel kids club was much loved by my 5 and 8 year olds - I didn't want to put them in as I was looking forward to spending time with them ... but there were so many fun things to do that I had to give in!
The place was packed but the food choice and quantity was wonderful. In fact there was so much food everywhere all the time that by the end of the holiday I could barely bear to look at another mouthful.
Local beer was very good, but spirits I have heard were watered down ... didn't bother me, they tasted fine ... but maybe I'm a bit of a lightweight.
Staff were helpful and courteous and we have some stunning holiday photos thanks to the excellent and great value photographers on site.
Highly recommended for young families ... but make sure your travel agent is as on the ball as mine was.

We have just returned from a 2 week...
7 / 10
Jul 2006, Mr W Richards

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the Kustur Club. We decided on the Kustur Club based on earlier reviews on this and a few other review sites. Overall I have to say we were very happy with the holiday. The accommodation was excellent. Much better than a high rise hotel. The grounds are lovely and the slides keep the kids entertained for hours. We never bothered with the al-a-carte restaurant as with two young kids the buffet option was much better. The food in the buffet restaurant was excellent. However in the first week it was really busy and we often struggled to get a table and baby chair. It was a lot quieter in the second week.
It is a very international resort with guests from all over with British guests in the minority. The only time that was a problem was when you were trying to get served at the pool bar. This is the main bar in the resort and it can be difficult to get served. There were quite a few German based Turks on holiday while we were there and the Bar staff always served them first and if you said anything to the guy butting in, the bar staff made a point of giving poor service in the future.
We also noticed that most of the male German guest were drinking Raki. It became apparent why pretty quickly. If you ordered drinks with mixers there was often little or no alcohol in them. This was deliberate and I even caught one of the bar staff serving a gin and tonic with no gin in it at all.
Another annoying thing was that the area where they put the shows on in the evening had no bar, so you had to go to the pool bar for drinks and endure the nonsense mentioned above. Saying that, you weren't missing much as the shows weren't great. The kids disco was okay though standard holiday stuff. An hour of party songs to tire them out and our daughter enjoyed the kids club through the day as well.
Other than the bar service we had no complaints. The beach was good and we got sun beds no problem at the beach or the pool.
For a couple with a young family who don't drink much I would recommend it.
For people who like a drink, and get wound up when people but in at the bar I'd go somewhere else.

We went to the Tropicana Kustur last...
10 / 10
Jul 2006, Miss J Davey

We went to the Tropicana Kustur last year and it is the best holiday I have ever been on. Everything you needed was there and I would recommend this holiday to everyone! I am hoping to go back this year as it was excellent. The room was kept clean and food was served around the clock. It is situated near the beach, shops and bars. There is always plenty to do.
The staff were brilliant and this hotel catered for all ages. The staff were so friendly and would do anything they could for you. The waiters are all polite and none of them expect tips, unlike other all inclusive holidays I have been on.
I would like to say a special thank you to Embre and Musti who worked on the pool bar, as they showed me everything turkey had to offer from water sports to the clubs. It was by far the best holiday I have ever been on.
The only downfall this hotel has is that there is not many English families there. Out of the 448 rooms, 444 of them were taken up by German visitors and 4 of them by English at the time of our stay. However this is not a problem as everyone seems kind and polite, but we don’t know for sure as we don’t speak German. lol.
If you are thinking of going to the Tropicana Kustur I would totally recommend it. You will have the holiday of a lifetime!

We have just arrived back from the...
9 / 10
Jun 2006, Mr P Casanove

We have just arrived back from the Kustur Club after two weeks in the sun. The complex is well maintained, the cleaners and the gardeners do a great job. What can I say about the animation team, they were just fantastic for the kids and adults, kept us all entertained, and they work very hard (Carlos, Rio, Bibo, Momo, Mido, Abdul and the girls were brilliant and will help in any way).
The entertainment at night is varied and you need to get involved, to fully appreciate the fun make sure you take a few drinks down to the amphitheatre. The quiet pool is great for the smaller kids, though slides are available for all at the larger pool with drinks on tap (Don't ask for a tray! as we were all informed that we drink too much due to the world cup). The lads behind the bar were great and funny.
The food is good if you like eggs in the mornings. The only warning I would give is don't let the Germans etc.. push in front of you and your children while queuing for food. The only criticism I would give of the Kustur is the lack of variety of food for the kids (Chips, Spaghetti and Macaroni Cheese) also a bar at the quiet pool during certain hours and during special events, bit of a trek from the main bar to TV room.
The road works behind the complex were noticeable though did not interfere with our daily routine. The rooms are double glazed with air conditioning. Hope you enjoy your stay at the Kustur as my family would consider returning. Make sure you take plenty of English money for the markets and be prepared to barter.
Made great friends in the Kustur, Paul, Kay, Jonathon. Ade, Tina and Children, Miten and Christine and I'm a lady James.
Happy Holidays from Paul, Zi and Shaki.

Well we have just arrived back off a...
9 / 10
Jun 2006, Mr D Burns

Well we have just arrived back off a lovely holiday at the Kuster Club in Kusadasi. The weather was extremely hot for end of may first week of June at around 36 Degrees. We received a call from JMC the day before we left advising of a new road at the back of the hotel. This did not cause ant disruption and the wind was mainly on shore so blew the dust away.
We went to this complex 2 years ago and at the time this was not in any English brochure. This holiday was even better, the animation team Joe(JMC children’s rep) Bebo, Abdul, Mido, Tito Roxy and Carlos (lock up your daughters) and the other animators were great they worked so hard to make everyone’s holiday special. The food was varied with wonderful salads and sweets, a different barbecue and stir fry every night plus other selections. Get to the dining room early for dinner as it can be a bun fight if the hotel is busy, this was only the case on 2days whilst we were there.
Sun beds were plentiful and you could get one easily up to 10.30am. Varied activities during the day i.e. darts shooting, archery Boule Or petanc as they call it, beach volleyball and water polo. Table tennis and full size tennis courts available just a deposit for bats. Chargeable pool tables and arcade available for further amusement. Disco in the evening at 11.30 but the Havana disco over the road is better and drinks are reasonable with free entry. Mini club for kids and ice-cream at 4pm. Waterslides at various times of day (not during lunch). Evening entertainment is ok but can be similar if you have been to turkey before. I got roped into dressing as a women on one occasion and lost my shorts a couple of times on another! If you participate in the fun you will enjoy the holiday more such as the club dance (la vacca) crazy!
There is only one bar outside the hotel Meze bar but this is ok and the staff are friendly.
It is 15 minutes on a dolmus into Kusadasi cost 1.5TL some nice bars and restaurants. We can recommend Kings Place run by Mikey very English friendly 50yds past tourist info around the harbour on the left past clock tower. 40TL for Sea bass +Veg And Lasagne and chips and 2 beers and 2 sprite £15. Book you boat trip with Mikey at the time 20tl includes soft drinks and meal. Try to get on Big Baba boat best food what an excellent day less than half the price reps charge.
To summarise the Kuster Club is very clean food is excellent and there is something to suit everyone, I suggest you take sterling and Lira and hire a safe deposit box 10 Euro per week don’t bother with cheques because you pay for them here and get about 8 % less when you change in the resort less than pound notes. Also remember it is £10 to get in the country. Take food and drink to Izmir airport £3.50 for a coffee very expensive at Izmir, Bodrum and Dalaman airports.
Please tell the animation team that Elvis says hello and hello from me to all the lovely people we met on this holiday. Have a good one.

I went to Tropicana kustur club at...
7 / 10
Sep 2005, Miss G Dalmon

I went to Tropicana kustur club at the end of September, weather was good but can get cold in the evenings. We did not really expect much as this was a last minute deal and was very cheap. when we arrived i was pleasantly surprised.
We had arrived in the middle of the night and there was plenty of staff to help us who then showed us to our room which was lovely it was really big and had air conditioning which was free to use as much as we wanted.
There was only one problem with our room and that was that the evenings entertainment was in the amphitheatre which was right next to our room (703). I don’t know whether they know where the volume switch was. it was so loud that the room would move with the music, the good thing was that it all ended at 11 which wasn’t so bad.
The food was good, there was a good selection although to not to every ones taste. there is food from the time you get up to the time you go to bed. If you travel with jmc then you will get a free meal at the a'la carte restaurant which was great we went on the Turkish night.
We didn’t really go out of the complex as there was everything that we needed right there, however when we did go out we got harassed as they were trying to make us buy something we didn’t want, and if your a blonde female then good luck!!!
There is loads of excursions and they all seem great, but we chose to go on a boat trip, free food and drink all day and a lovely stop at cove where you can have a swim. It was the best day of my holiday and would recommend to anyone.
Overall holiday was great, staff great and hotel was great.

Tropicano Kustur Club, Kusadasi...
10 / 10
Aug 2005, Mr K Elliott

Tropicano Kustur Club, Kusadasi Turkey, offers a fantastic All Inclusive deal. Located 10 minutes outside Kusadasi centre it is serviced by Dolmus services from right outside the gate. If possible try and arrange your flights to Izmir rather than Bodrum, you will double your journey time.
So, the club, it is set in fantastic gardens of pine trees, Lime Trees and rhododendron’s with wonder well kept lawns. The accommodation is in the style of one and two story apartments spread within the gardens. The rooms are clean, we had room 706 which was very modern with television, fridge, air-conditioning (ensure your patio doors are closed or it will not switch on) mosquito doors outside of your patio doors, maid service everyday changing towels and sheets, replacing mineral water in your fridge, wonderful modern bathrooms with probably the best power showers you have ever seen, indoor and outdoor restaurant, smaller snack bars serving food at different times of the day, a very large swimming pool with separate children’s pool, water slides, there is also another swimming pool called "The Quiet Pool" which is located two blocks away from the main crossroad opposite the entrance to the restaurant. There are onsite shops and other shops just outside the main gate.
The club has a private beach which is accessed by a small tunnel. A security guard is by the tunnel checking who’s coming and going. The beach is looked after by around 6 staff who patrol up and down all day checking for any unwanted guests. A beach bar offers light snacks and beer, soft drinks free from 10am to 6pm. They also sell ice creams which are very cheap.
There is music played on the beach so if you need a quieter part I suggest you walk further away from the music. The sun beds and mattresses are free for you to use and there are plenty of them to go round.
Beach Warning. It is a nice beach but I will let you know about some large pebbles. There is a six foot wide stretch of smooth rocks and pebbles which are below the water line. However once negotiated you then have lovely soft sand in the warm clean sea. The closer you are to the clubs beach bar the less the pebbles will challenge you, I say this because in the afternoon about 4pm onwards some fun waves appear and when you go back to shore you the waves want you to cross those darn pebbles faster than you’d want too !!!! The beach is sandy and does get very hot. Luckily the club provides umbrella’s on the beach but they don’t stop the sand from getting hot !!!
You will receive a wrist band on check-in. This identifies you as a guest of the club, you will not be hassled by any of the security guards on the main gates if it is visible when you come and go. The good thing is that everyone in the hotel is an official guests as they do not allow day visitors.
The main restaurant starts from 7.30am serving breakfast right up to 11.00am then lunch is served from 12.30 until 2pm. Afternoon tea and cakes & cookies are served from 3pm - 4pm Don’t worry if you miss these times because there are plenty of smaller snack bars around the hotel which serve food all-day. Dinner is from 7.30pm until 10pm and if you are still feeling hungry after all that, soup and bread is served from 11pm to 12 midnight !! Still hungry? head off to the Sport Bar for sandwiches and rolls open 24hrs.
The main bar is open from 10am until 1am serving (included in your package) EFES Pilsner, Raki, Wines, Pepsi, soft drinks, bottles of mineral water (don’t forget to grab a couple of bottles at the end of the night to take back to your room) Any drinks which are Imported are chargeable like Malibu, Rum, Whiskey ect..... Having said this, if you still need more drink throughout the night, then head to the Sport Bar, which serves local drinks all night (again included in your package)
From Midnight there is a disco, which is located at the back of the restaurant, this goes on until 2am. Or if you fancy staying up till the sun rises head for the HAVANA disco which is next to the beach. Next to the HAVANA disco, there is an a la Carte restaurant (chargeable) You will not need to visit there as the food on offer is fantastic.
The main restaurant offers a choice of about 6 different hot dishes ranging from meats to pasta’s and Pide (local topped Pizza Bread) and a Salad Buffet like you have never seen with a large selection of meats, cheeses, pasta’s , rice salads, green salads, mixed salads, lots of Turkish salads....wow the list goes on.... There is also soup served every meal time with plenty of bread ( you cut your own bread ). Dotted around the restaurant are many drinks stations as well as a bar offering Beer and Pepsi like there’s no tomorrow.
Entertainment, There is a full program going on all day by the 'Animation Team' from pool games to yoga there something going on all day. In the evening there is always an event in the main Theatre which is like a Coliseum, we never visited this because we didn’t have children. By the main bar there is entertainment every night from 9.30pm until midnight in the form of a local guitarist or a disco. The bar staff are very friendly and speak many languages. There are many floor waiters but they clear glasses only you need to visit the bar when you want drinks……
To and from Kusadasi. To go to Kusadasi catch a Dolmus from outside the main gate crossing the road. You will wait no more than 5 minutes until the next one comes along. The price is 1.5 YTL per person, please try and have the right money with you for the journey as the poor drivers are inundated with large notes which they struggle to change. The journey takes about 10 mins and is quite fun. Where to get off? Well wait until you have travelled right along the seafront near to the main dock where the cruise ships are, don’t forget where you get off because when you return you will need to be in roundabout the same area to get back (remember on the other side of the road) If in Doubt when trying to get back say to the Dolmus driver ‘Kustur’ pronounced ‘Koosta’
Out and About. There are many places to visit around the area, avoid booking up the very expensive Tour Operators trips when you can do the same trip for a quarter of the price. The Dolmus does visit Ephasis and the Ardland Aqua Park from outside the main gate (on the hotel side of the road so no need to cross) When you see a Dolmus approaching it will be going to Ephasis or Ardland. If you want to go by coach instead then outside the hotel turn left and walk along the parade of shops. You will see a ticket agent there, they are still about 2/3rds cheaper than your tour operator.
My only advise would be…….If you are flying to and from Bodrum, do not purchase anything from the snack bar, £3 for a can of drink £3.80 for a coffee taken from a drinks machine, We had a Pizza chips coffee and a can of drink, 55 YTL which is about £22 !!! Also avoid buying anything from the places where the coach drivers stop for a break between the airport and the resort, for example a bag of crisps is 5YTL £2.40 or £1.40 for a can of drink.
The good thing about the Tropicana Club is if you have a night flight and check out at 12 noon, you keep your wrist band so you can eat and drink for the rest of the day…. Eat dinner before you leave and grab some bottles of water from the bar for the journey…..it will save you a fortune at the airport……..
We saw lots of single mums and their daughters there, it seemed a very friendly place and people were very chatty……if you are a single parent then this is a place to go and feel safe….. We will go back again….. I hope you enjoy the photos I have submitted. Happy Travels.
I will be going back again…… Any further tips or questions email me direct kevin@stefanie-robbins.co.uk

7 of us have just come back from a...
9 / 10
Oct 2004, Miss kay hutchinson

7 of us have just come back from a 5-day break at Tropicano, and I thought it had everything a good family holiday needs. There are 2 pools, one medium size which is quieter and one big one with slides, music playing, even though some of the music wasn’t really for the ears of young children, as it had lots of swearing in it, whether that was cos it was the animation teams last week, or what? But just be aware. Activities were going on throughout the day, even on the beach they have pedalos, and the Turkish bath. Which I think is something for everyone.
I would recommend this hotel for a family holiday as the animation team makes sure everyone has fun, by including everyone in everything. I had a go at water aerobics and water polo (I wouldn’t recommend this for girls as the Belgium men can be very Competitive).
The rooms were clean and included TV, with a few English channels, hairdryer and the odd dead mosquito splattered on the wall.
The animation team and the staff at Tropicano are really friendly, they even learnt us a few Turkish words.
The only thing that lets the hotel down is the food, but that’s only cos us Brits like our greasy fry-ups. But the food is better than other hotel we stayed at for 2 days (Pigale beach resort). In the day around the main pool they serve chips, hotdogs, pizza, and cheesy bread, which is nice as you can watch them make it from fresh.
The evening entertainment is ok, but we kind of made our own as we all meet friends, Tracy, Richard, Brummy, Sain, and Stacey.
One night the animation team even got me, Stacey and Sain up belly dancing in front of everyone.
O well its not a British holiday without someone making a fool of themselves.
But I think I would go back to this hotel, but maybe in height of season, as a few of the things weren’t on cos it was end of season.
Overall we had a great time at Tropicano as the sun, the beer, the experience of moving hotels and the good friends we all made made our holiday!

Myself, my husband my brother & his...
8 / 10
Sep 2004, Mrs A Weakley

Myself, my husband my brother & his wife spent 2 weeks at the Tropicano Kustur Resort and had a very nice time. Our ages range from 22-38.
ROOMS :- There are just over 500 rooms at the resort. My brother & his wife’s room (152) was big & very clean but was looking tired and could have done with a refurb. We were lucky enough to get one of the better rooms (308) just at the side of the silent pool. They had recently been refurbished and were very nicely decorated. We had air con, carpet, fully tiled bathroom, shower over the bath, balcony overlooking the pool, king-size bed, TV, fridge, telephone, linen change every other day & towel change everyday, overall the room was nice and big and very comfortable for the whole 2 weeks. We met a couple who said that their room wasn’t very nice at all the carpet was threadbare and looked as though it had been forgotten by the cleaners and the decorators, they were situated in the rooms up the big steep hill which from the restaurant is a trek. We would rate the resort as a 3 - 4*.
FACILITIES :- The Silent Pool was just that very quite, no music and very very clean, also there is a little bar for soft drinks. The main pool with the slides is very big and very very clean, but can get too noisy with the music the animation team play (I DON'T THINK THEY KNOW WERE THE VOLUME SWITCH IS). If you wanted to participate in the activities the animation team were the ones who would sort that out for you (NOT RECEPTION). Tennis, Mini Golf, Basketball, Pool, Volleyball, Keep Fit, Water Polo, Etc. The animation team were very hard working and always had smiles on their faces. Their daytime work finished at 6pm, then they would get ready for the evening entertainment in the amphitheatre, which was OK. There are video games too situated were the pool tables are and the Internet too. Also you can indulge in a Turkish bath, which is FREE and very refreshing, but if you fancy a body scrub, short soap massage, mudpack, and to finish it off a 45 minute full body massage (FOR ABOUT £20) then it’s defiantly worth having it’s fantastic. There is a diving school at the hotel with fully qualified diving instructors (NOT SURE IF THIS IS FREE AS WE DIDN'T PARTAKE). We went on the beach to have a look and although it’s very long and sandy (sand a bit dirty looking ) it’s not very wide and could probably get overcrowded, but as we aren’t beach lovers it didn’t bother us at all. There are water sports too some are free others there is a charge. Also if you go to this resort and are expecting an array of different entertainment then you will be disappointed as the background music cd was the same for nearly 2 weeks going over & over again all night until the guitar man started playing his guitar and singing the same songs for 12 nights out of the 14 (AGH!!!!). Also if he didn’t know the words to songs he would just whistle and play the guitar which you can imagine gets on your nerves after hearing the same songs over & over again.
STAFF :- Most of the bar staff are nice you get the odd one who just couldn’t raise a smile if they tried, but overall they worked their socks off to keep the whole place very tidy and free of empty glasses, the moment you finished your drink they would appear out of nowhere and take you empties.
FOOD :- The main restaurant opened for early Breakfast at 7.30am-9.30am then a late breakfast 10.00am-11.00am. We only attended breakfast twice and it consisted of scrambled egg, beans, vegetables, bread, boiled eggs, cereal, and juices.
Dinner time was from 12.30pm-2.00pm and was a mixture of soup, bread, rice, meat, chips, veg, salads, desserts.
Evening meal was from 7.30pm-9.30pm and was a mixture of bbq food, fried food (ALL COOKED OUTSIDE ON THE TERRACE VERY FRESH) hot food inside, salads, soups, bread, desserts,
There was also a couple of snack bars near the main pool if you got peckish in between times serving pizza, pitta bread with various fillings, bbq chicken, salad and at night-time when the main restaurant had finished with the evening meals you could have soup & bread which was very nice.
Overall the presentation and taste of the food was excellent, the chefs worked very hard to make everything taste as good as it looked and was a credit to them, the chefs were always milling round the food just to check if it was running low and if it was then they would get another tray of fresh food and top it up so you didn’t miss out on anything. Although the resort was full to capacity it didn’t feel that busy as it’s such an enormous place there is enough food & room for everyone.
RESORT :- Where the resort is situated is about 10 mins to Kusadasi Town and only cost about 50p on the Dolmus, which are always around so you are very unlikely to be waiting for one. You would more than likely be flying into Bodrum airport and from there it is a 2hrs 30 mins to the resort (lets hope you get a good flight). You are only 20 mins away from Ephesus by taxi (remember to haggle the price first before you get in the taxi for 4 of us it cost around £20 any higher than that they are ripping you off), which is a fantastic place to go and see. A guide is a must and make sure the taxi driver drops you off at the top of Ephesus and waits for you at the bottom car park not the other way around as this would mean you walking all uphill not good in the heat. The tour usually takes about 2-2 1/2 hrs, take your camera, lots of water, sun cream, sunglasses, comfy shoes or trainers (don’t wear flip flops) and a hat as there is little or no shade as you go around. Just as we got there an ambulance was taking someone to hospital after collapsing due to the heat.
LOCAL BARS :- There are a few bars, gift shops, and excursion shops just on the main road outside the resort gates.
RESTAURANTS :- In Kusadasi Town (WHICH IS VERY CLEAN INDEED) there is no shortage of places to eat we walked around for about 15-20 mins just looking at the different restaurants and went into the one which was the busiest (PLANET YUKKA), Food, Service, Entertainment all FANTASTIC !!!! we even got a free taxi home. For 4 starters, 4 Main coursers (ALL STEAK) Cocktails, & Beer the bill at the end of the meal came to £80 and the portions were very very good well worth a visit.
It was our first time in Turkey and although I have for many years had bad preconceptions about this part of the world I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was.
We hope that whoever visits this resort finds the information we have given helpful and helps you to have a lovely time at the Tropicano Kustur Resort.
ENJOY !!!!!

Jul 2004, Mr D Burns

Firstly my wife and I are 48 and 46 we have visited Turkey 5 times. Last year we visited Tropicano Didim beach Altinkum. This place was better but the resort wasn’t as good.
The hotel is mainly bungalows and 2 floor apartment blocks. rooms above 500 are up a fairly steep hill and can be tiring in the heat. Rooms are nice with air con fridge and hairdryer.
The staff are all very friendly and the food is varied but can soon be decimated at Dinner, so get there early. French, Belgium, Dutch and Turkish mainly occupy the hotel, only 20 people were English out of about 600.
The 2 pools are good, one noisy with day time animation the other secluded with toddler pool.
Change money at one of the shops outside hotel you will get about 12% more.
The beach is clean and pool towels are free each day. The shore breaks can be quite big in the afternoon so watch young kids.
Drink and food are available 24hrs a day and free bottled water.
Dolmus to Kusadasi 20mins 50P each way, Dolmus to Ephesus 1.oo each way about 30 mins . Market day is on a Friday but some of the shops in Kusadasi are open 24hrs, but Dolmus only runs till 12 and taxis are not cheap.
Duty free at Bodrum is cheaper than Gatwick i.e. rolling tobacco £12.00 at Gatwick £20.00 but drinks in the coffee shop expensive £2 for a coffee and the half way stop point on way to hotel is pricey £4 for a coke and an ice tea.
The biggest disappointment is the evening entertainment this is done by the animation team for 1 hr and is very average. There is a good guitarist by the pool bar on some nights.
Overall we had a very relaxing stay the weather was 34 degrees for 2 weeks take plenty of sun cream it is not cheap here. We would certainly consider a return visit.
Have a good time.

A typical all inclusive resort in...
5 / 10

A typical all inclusive resort in Turkey. Very well set out, very good animation team. The shows of a night were very poor.
Meal times were very Turkish and offered no variety, Lunch and evening meals were a choice of rice, chips/wedges, chicken and lamb, and it was the same for the whole 14 days. Only one main restaurant, and one A la Carte (40 persons). The one positive in the food category were the soups served at meal times, very good.
Rooms were very good, clean and spacious, although the hotel tried to put all 5 of us in the one room even though we paid for two.
On the safety side of things they allowed glass to be served around the pool and one day even allowed a group of gentleman to have glasses of beer in the pool itself!!!. They allowed children to use the slide when the water was turned off.
I felt that it was too overcrowded for the facilities, as we have been to two other all inclusive resorts in Turkey and they have been smashing.
The beach was small, with coarse dark sand, not very nice.
Overall this hotel is a 3* plus at the very most and needs to expand its facilities and catering to be a 1st class holiday village (4* Superior on the Medhotels website)
