My family arrived at the condo on the 7th late at night. Received a ground floor 2b2b condo. Surprised by all the dead bugs at the entrance also noted a moldy smell throughout the condo. Requested to be moved. We were moved at 1 am to a new location on the 5th level.... more

We stayed at the Marriot Grand Vista at the beginning of July, 2005. We had great time in Orlando and found the Marriot Grand Vista to be a great place to stay. It was central for all the attractions and when we had a day or two at the poolside we were well catered for... more

A great time was had by all
My family visited the Marriott Grand Vista on 8/16 - 8/23/03. We had a wonderful time. There were 22 of us in attendance and everyone had a great time. The accommodations were great. The party consisted of 4 different families and their grown children and grandchildren. We had 3 two bedrooms and 2 efficiencies. We loved the way the 2 bedrooms locked off with a sink, refrigerator, microwave, and bath facilities for more privacy. We were all very impressed with the resort and would recommend it very highly. One family member actually brought a timeshare there. The only comment I would make is about the whirlpool bath. It was located in the bedroom next to the bed and the bathroom with shower was in a separate room. It would have been nicer to have a wall between the tub and bed so others might enjoy the whirlpool whithout disturbing the masterbath guest. I would recommend other units being built to consider this. But otherwise, A great time was had by all. We may return at Xmas.
Our family loved it
The resort is very nice well kept up We had a 2bedroom 2 bath villa over looking the lake and golf course Check-in was great in my room by 410pm on Aug 10 Stayed a week relatives for GA came with therir kids The pool by the lobby is the best riding the family cycles and boating was fun the boys were able to shoot some hoops on the basketball court This whole week was great we are now planning our Disney Cruise for 2004
Great Family Resort
Great Family Resort -Checked in on 8/5 @ around 4pm. Check in was short and easy. Grounds and rooms are in excellent condition. Lots of family activities and a great golf course to boot. If you stay at this property and have children go for a 1 bedroom suite or more. The deluxe guest room we stayed in was very nice, but a tad bit small for 2 adults and 2 kids.
Beautiful: Great Fun for the Family
What a wonderful place. We just returned home from a 2 week stay in Orlando and spent the first week at the Marriott! Spectacular, our 2 bedroom villa overlooked the lake and you could see the Disneyworld fireworks from our balcony. Very nice staff and very accomodating. We would recommend to anyone. Great time.
We loved our vacation stay in the 1bdrm Villa
We enjoyed our stay in the 1 bdrm villa with the view of the golf course. The jacuzzi was good except when you wanted a longer time in it, it wouldn't work as if to say thats enough. That could be worked on somewhat better. We went to Epcot and enjoyed the villa 5days 4nights which was great with no complaint at all. The presentation at the end of the week was fine with the rep. except for the executive rep or her manager at closing who was very abrupt with his hard sell of timeshare and his unprofessionalism to our rejection to buy.
Had a wonderful time
My family and I stayed here and found the Grande Vista to be one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. We arrived at around 5:00 in the evening and our room was ready. Pool area was wonderful, and the children enjoyed watching a movie at dusk while in the pool. We will stay here again for certain.
Quite Disappointing!!
This resort is rated 4-1/2 stars. Based on our one night stay...absolutely no way. We have stayed in 3, 4 & 5 star resorts in this area & have payed much less, that put the Marriott Grande Vista to shame!! The grounds & exterior buildings were beautiful, but that is were the beauty ends. Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. We arrived at 5:00 only to be told housekeeping was behind & they did not know when our 1 BR Villa (smoking) would be ready. As we looked around the very crowded lobby, apparently many people were in the same boat. After 20 minutes of standing at the reservation desk while the girl was on terminal hold with housekeeping trying to get information, we were finally handed a pager & told to give them 30 more minutes. And she politely stated that this 30 minutes does not mean our villa will be ready, it just means that in 30 minutes they will have a better idea of how much longer we will have to wait for the villa to be ready. So we decided that instead of hanging out indefinitely in their lobby waiting for the smoking villas to be cleaned, we would go for a very unplanned early dinner. At around 6:10, the pager went off, so we finished our dinner & headed back to the resort arriving around 7:00 p.m. only to find out they rebooked us again into a non-smoking villa. After explaining that we have been waiting several hours for a smoking, by 7:15 p.m. we finally had the key to our villa which, per the resort information, should have been ready & available by 4:00. Though our plans for celebrating our Anniversary that night were screwed up, we were just thrilled to finally have a key to this 4-1/2 star rated villa that claims to be "beautifully appointed with attention to comfort & convenience". Unfortunately, this villa did not live up the the high standards we had hoped for based on the resort pictures & desciption of the villa's, nor even close to the luxury & comfort we've experience for less money at comparable resorts in the area that we have been to. The Villa was spacious & the color scheme was nice, but the villla was not very well maintained. The living room furniture was very uncomfortable to sit on. The master bedroom & bath ware drab & the furniture quite cheap & seems to be piece mealed together. The King bed did not have a regular mattress, it had a 3-4 inch "pad", cheap, filmsy & not the lease bit comfortable. The air conditioning varied greatly from room to room but the master bedroom stayed continually way to cold. The carpet was not very clean, the walls & doors were knicked & dirty, a window screen had a gaping hole & the window sills & windows had gray electrical tape on them. Not quite sure what that was about!! The kitchen was nice & the patio area was nice. We couldnt see the view out of the living room windows due to so much condensation on them. And to top this off, the resort doesnt even give their guests a complimenary packet of coffee in their villa, which is standard in pretty much any hotel today. When I spend nearly $200.00 a night for a 4+ star villa, the very least I expect is to have a comfortable, clean, well maintained area that also includes a real mattress & not a piece of thin useless saggy padding!!!! To future guest....Dont waste your money!!! To Marriott...........Shame on you!!!
Great Time-6/29/03
Hello, I just came back from Orlando June 29 and the Marriott Grande Vista was great. I went with my husband and four children, ages 3, 8, 16, and 19. There was something to do for everyone. When we arrived we checked in and our room was not ready. They gave us a beeper and said they would call us. It was kind of early so we rented a limo bike for 12 dollars for a half an hour and went riding. The bike seats six people, 4 people pedaling and two small children can sit in an area like the front of a supermarket cart. It was nice. We had a 2 bedroom villa. This is very roomy. Two full bedrooms, living room, dinning room, full kitchen, washer and dryer, and two patios. You get a daily activity sheet to keep you informed of the activities there called The Navigator. Activities included aerobics, sand creations, arts and crafts, teen ping pong, movie night out, mall of millenia escape, golf clinics, scuba lessons, tennis clinics and swimming and there's a game room. Keep in mind there is a fee for almost ALL! these activities. The kids club was running about 20 dollars for about 3 to 6 hours per child for that one activity. Pizza Hut, Marketplace, Lighthouse Bar and other dinning is available. Massages are available for 60 dollars for thirty minutes. I didnt know about any of these things so I didnt put it in our budget. Maybe next time. There are several pool areas and a sand beach area. My little ones liked this area. I found everyone very nice. Outside the hotel right around the corner is a McDonald, grocery store, Kentucky, Wendy's, and Sea World. It is less than 2 minutes away. Disney is 10 minutes away and Universal is about 10 minutes in the other direction. Marriott has gift certificates. Maybe I will try them next time. Please email me if you need more information. We really enjoyed this hotel and highly recommend it.
Slow Service, Great Place
My friends and I rented a 2 bedroom 2 bath villa from Grande Vista for our Prom which was at Sea World which is literally pretty much across the street and down the road. It's an absolutely beautiful property nestled away from all the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas. You'd almost believe for a minute you were on a remote island full of wealthy tennis players and golf players. A friend of mine was also staying there above the lobby in a 2/2 and his villa was much nicer than ours although we paid the same price. It took the front desk over 3 hours to have our room ready so while we could have been basking in the sun or enjoying the beautiful pools we were sitting around waiting and waiting and waiting. This was a disappointment. When we finally went to check (they gave us a beeper that never went off) they said the room had been ready for quite a while. I was not happy. We got to the room and it was nice. 2 seperate rooms but that could be locked or opened to accomodate children or adults. In the larger of the rooms there was a small kitchen area with fridge, freezer, and sink. I believe there was also a stove. Included were plates, cups, a blender, and also utensils. There was no area to keep food or for storage in the kitchen which was a bummer. We had a view of the golf course which was amazing as well as a private pool for our building and a jacuzzi out near the pool. In the living room of the larger room there was a few chairs and a pull out sofa bed with a vcr and coffee table. There was also a dining room table and chairs. The master bedroom had a bed, balcony, and jacuzzi tub which was nice. Also a bathroom and dressing area. Included linens and hair dryer. The second adjoining room included another sleeper sofa, a bed, a bathroom, small fridge, closet, tv, and alarm clock. We did not stay in this room our friends did. Overall I would give them a 4...if the initial getting into our room wasnt a problem than it would be a definite 5. I was very disappointed with that since we only stayed one night and did not get to enjoy the pools and luxury. Hope this helps!
Lovely Time
My Boyfriend and I had a lovely time at this resort. It was very spacious and the surroundings were beautiful!! We stayed in a one bedroom and even though the room was smaller than I imagined, from the pictures, it was more than enough room for the two of us. I would definitely stay here again.
